  1. Hi. I'd suggest creating a separate note for each quote and using tags for each author, and a standard for 'quotes'. Give each one a title which suits your system - maybe a summary of the topic, like "how to succeed" or "strengths & weaknesses". Then you could search for quotes in general, or one author in particular and the results would be a list of options for your selection.
  2. AFAIK there's no way to DnD in bulk and have the file names sorted. A note doesn't behave like a desktop folder. You could try setting up an Import Folder so the files get added one at a time to separate notes, then sort the notes on title and merge the list... maybe?
  3. Not a Mac user, but last time I dropped into Firefox clipper worked fine on Windows... to keep you logged in it will want to drop a cookie on your system, so like @PinkElephant I'd suggest changing the level of security on the browser, or maybe exempting Evernote domains.
  4. Hi. Plus was discontinued for new users some time ago. If you already have that level of subscription, you'll be able to continue for as long as you wish, but no additional users can be added.
  5. Believe me, I understand the frustration... but I don't know of any software that will jump in and offer a turnkey solution to what for the sake of this discussion I'll call 'personal productivity'. If I could afford to employ a systems person to sit next to me for a month so we could map out my activities and design an app - the result still wouldn't be perfect, because I can use my judgement and experience to deal with occasional curveballs, but an app either mishandles the situation or just crashes. And a software engineer often has to make compromises between what's wanted and what is currently possible in your OS of choice. Even bespoke solutions have maintenance and support requirements. Evernote has been compared to Lego - you can build a Saturn 5 or the Manhattan Skyline (and lots of other stuff in between) from the bits available. I think that's a strength, not a weakness - and over time I can build my own bespoke solution that can supply 99.5% of my needs. I'm up to about 85% now... 🙂
  6. Hi. AFAICS you're removing the formatting from a 'simplified article' clip of the forums. Measure Measure might be in the page coding somewhere, it's certainly not something I've ever seen happening on my system...
  7. I get reminder mails still... have you tried signing out and back in? Powering your system off and on? Database backup and Evernote uninstall/ reinstall?
  8. Hi. There's no keyboard or screen action I can think of, but what about including a return note link in the 'child' note so you can click there and go back to the first screen - it won't necessarily be where you left it, if it's a long note; but you can make shorter notes if your links into and out of other notes work for you...
  9. Hi. Is note merge not an option for this? One thing which I use when clipping more than one item per web page is to clip the first item, then open the note and copy/ paste more items as I go along. It's a good idea to copy the page URL too so you have a visible link back to the main content. (The in-note link may not be visible on some platforms.)
  10. Hi. You're responding to a 2-year old post, and the web beta has moved on a little since then - but still doesn't include encryption, which would also have to involve the desktop and mobile app versions. As you probably know it is possible to encrypt text only notes in the desktop version, and any version can attach files encrypted with other applications such as MSWord or Adobe PDF. Evernote doesn't usually comment on whether or when they might introduce new features - we users usually find out what's available when an app is updated; but they do have a policy of bringing all apps into line with the same features, so I guess there's some hope they are looking into more security options.
  11. I'd echo @jefito - new developers don't 'make a killing' unless they're unbelievably lucky or talented (or probably both) because no matter how talented they are and how relevant their design, there are always aspects of the single-developer problem that get in the way: what happens with security / lightning strikes / being hit by a bus? Can I totally rely on a sole provider to keep my data safe - as well as: does the app pretty much do what I want. Not to mention that some huge corporates now control big chunks of the market (looking at you Google and Apple), and Evernote is still a go-to product for millions of users. Like jeff I'm always looking around to see what's on offer, and occasionally I get quite excited... and then I start to find the potholes in someone else's master plan, and give up looking for a while. For all its current glitches, Evernote is still the only app that I can use anytime, anywhere to run a system that totally suits me. I know that they're financially stable, as secure as a web-based service can be, and constantly working on ways to improve. I'll work around the rest until they catch up.
  12. I haven't seen a pop-up in months related to my captured content, but I seem to recall that it took a while for Evernote to 'register' that I didn't want the messages. You might try Sync / Uninstall / power off & on again / reinstall to see whether that will break the ties, but if that doesn't work and you're a subscriber - raise it with Support to see if they can help.
  13. ? If you have to copy and paste once, that's fine. If you have 1,000 notes and have to copy & paste them individually, it might take a while...
  14. Depending on how many notes you're looking to move, individually copying and pasting the content into a new note is probably the most reliable way. If you need to move a lot of notes you could look into exporting (or printing) the content as HTML or PDF files, and if you are a Windows user, check out Import Folders. How to create import folders in Evernote for Windows
  15. Hi. Try hitting <tab> (on your keyboard) when your cursor is in the bottom-right cell. How to create and customize tables
  16. Hi. Your image in Evernote isn't stored on the phone, so has to be downloaded from Evernote to the phone so it can be uploaded in turn to Whatsapp. So no, sorry; no way in Evernote to send it direct. Edit: Though (see below) I could be wrong...
  17. Hi. As a subscriber you can look for some specialised assistance from Evernote Support via https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new -What you get here is mostly comment by other users who have had the same issue. There have, as you have listed, been a few dozen with the same problem; but against the millions of users who are updating Evernote, the failure rate is extraordinarily low. AFAIK all the previous issues have been curable with one suggestion or another. Best advice is talk to Support to see what they can do...
  18. Just for the record, anyone who needs advice from Evernote Devs (or wants to give it to them) should contact the company. Subscribers can use the support link at https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new, anyone can message on Twitter https://twitter.com/evernotehelps or FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/evernotecommunity/. The comments you get here are (mainly) from experienced users around the world rather than active IT professionals. Use at your own risk...
  19. Hi. You have a screenshot, apparently taken at 12:30, featuring a couple of images that were captured a few hours before, at 10:15 and 10:17. I wouldn't worry about those - the device index takes a little while to catch up with new notes. Your notes from 'yesterday' though are unusual in not having full thumbnails, though it depends on how much access your Android has had to a network connection in the meantime. -And if those notes were created on another device, how much network access it has had in the meantime to update Evernote's servers. There aren't many options to 'tech' a mobile app - best remedy for most issues is to sync / uninstall / restart the device / reinstall to get a 'clean' version. If this thumbnail lag is an issue, you're a subscriber, so could reach out to Support directly if you wish...
  20. I did something dumb, and I apologise - I saw there were two topics with the same content so I 'hid' one - then realised that was the voting thread. Once hidden I have no way (that I know of) to 'unhide' something, so I moved this thread into the voting stream. Apologies if that confuses anyone... 🤒
  21. OK - choosing 'match note width' will bounce the table out to the visible window, and if you hover over the thin grey vertical line of the table, you should see a 'move me' icon that will let you stretch the placement. Some columns move with others... you kinda have to play with it to see what's possible. In Windows it's possible to switch other panels off - see the 'view' menu for options and shortcut keys.
  22. Yup - check out the options in Settings - and don't worry - the Dark Side (otherwise known as Evernote Marketing) will make sure you see "try the new web experience now" messages whenever you're anywhere else...
  23. Hmmn. If you're using the web or mobile versions, that's an issue: My main access is generally the Windows client - clicking within a cell gives you access to the drop-down and handles.
