  1. Hi. You could make up your own format if you wish - Open Evernote on a desktop create your 'ideal' layout and save/ sync as a note. Export your note to ENEX and save it to your desktop Double-click the ENEX file Check the Evernote app for a new note with your saved format. Obviously not helpful for mobiles, but you can create a few spares on a desktop and keep them in a Templates notebook...
  2. Hi. Sounds like you already know the options - there are no other choices that I know of....
  3. Hi. How do you log in on your laptop and in Android? If both of those are via Google, there (theoretically) should be no problem - the same user details should work on all. I use two laptops, a tablet and a phone - all with the same details. As a short term option - try signing onto Evernote.com via a browser in your iPad; does that work?
  4. Hi. If you can provide more information about what your work involves, maybe we could suggest some alternatives - but on what you've said so far I have to agree that it's necessary to use a key combination or click the icon to highlight text. You might look at annotating images or PDFs if that's how your work is presented to you; otherwise you may have to look for different software.
  5. Hmmn. Nice idea, but very definitely a 'nice to have' - once the nuts and bolts are all working well. There are a few essentials to get out of the way first. I'll move this to the votable feature request Forum to see whether there are any other supporters. If you prefer it moved back to General / Productivity please let me know.
  6. Just on that point - Notebooks are 'above' tags in the left panel; quicker (less far) to scroll down to that list and pick one item. Plus the tags list would be much longer if 'source' was added there - I have additional qualifiers that make the tags list (without sources) longer than the notebooks list. All down to laziness and (ahem) "efficiency"....
  7. Haven't tried it with a Word file, but I did have an Gmail with a mark-up MD file attached which seemed to save -with the attachment- without any problems a minute ago. The Gmail add-in seems fairly straightforward: select an email, click the Evernote extension (changing settings if necessary) and you're done...
  8. Late to the party, but just to add to the options on offer - after several years of trying out Tags (couldn't remember what tags to apply to which notes), Notebooks (does that note go into the expenses notebook, or the car notebook... or car with an expenses tag / expenses with a car tag...) I stayed with searching intitle:<term> for some time: I used a standard title format - <date>(of the document/ event) - type (letter / receipt / email) - source (who originated the thing) - keywords (anything else I could think of). Then, because I realised that if I wanted to check on the latest Amazon purchase I'd always search for 'Amazon' (obvs) and put the results into title order (to sort by date), I started creating notebooks for each 'source' (Amazon in this case) and set the notebook sort order to 'title' so I can automatically find the latest event in any project, email thread or transaction - which is usually what I'm looking for. Surprisingly (well it was, to me) I only have around 200 notebooks - though I'm still adding to that total slowly - and where I have conflicts I can create a Table of Contents note (for the 'expenses tag forinstance) and give that a notebook of its own. I use Filterize to maintain those ToC notes, as well as my to-do priorities. My tired brain is much happier that I now file by the source of each item of data, which is (usually) not a difficult choice; and any conflicts are solved by tags which are used for cross-referencing with other notebooks. I'm confident enough of the system that Gmail (my mail client) is now fowarding and deleting some emails direct to Evernote and Filterize is automatically sending them to the correct notebook with any necessary tags. I use All Mail on my Evernote account to check what's happened today, and my (updated) to do lists to sort out my workload. It works for me... mostly...
  9. I doubt it's possible to send a note to a local notebook from a mobile device unless (maybe) sending the content by email might work???
  10. Been doing this for 10 years, and have included notes made in other systems prior to that. I just got over 50,000, going up v-e-r-y--s-l-o-w-l-y. I wouldn't worry about it for a while...
  11. Hi. This is an issue that was first reported 6 years ago (in iOS), and last experienced (by Sven, also on iOS) 5 years ago; so not, it appears, a hot topic for mobile users generally, or Android users ever up until now. As you're a subscriber I'd suggest raising a support ticket (we're a -mainly- user-supported forum) so the team can check under the hood of your account. Meantime I'd suggest signing in to check online at Evernote.com to make sure your notes do have the correct content.
  12. It's understood that this is not any kind of 'solution', but it is a way to get things done now rather than wait an unspecified time for Evernote, if they accept that this is a feature they should prioritise, to get through the coding and testing process and to release it. Evernote are (they say) in process of completely re-coding all of their apps for all operating systems, so may have already included some upgrades. But they don't preview details, so we'll probably have to wait until the new versions hit the streets to see what they're capable of. (Strikes me that few users seem to be aware of this, so I'll boiler-plate this paragraph for inclusion with more answers...)
  13. Hi. It looks like you have some unsynced information in at least one note which now exceeds the size limits for a basic account. If you can open the app when disconnected from the network, can you move some of the content into a new note - splitting it into two or more sections so that the upload is within limits?
  14. Hi. Parsing another app's note structure isn't always an exact science - and the goalposts may get moved unexpectedly by the other operator from time to time. If this is only a few notes can you manually copy them across?
  15. Hi. Not sure I've ever seen this.. have you tried restarting your device?
  16. Hi. Don't believe so, but others may know better than me - have you considered using email to create notes? How to save email into Evernote
  17. ...What @DTLow said - plus the only other thing I could suggest would be to include the URL in the title of each note (maybe using a URL-shortener like bit.ly)... and then creating the ToC which would include URL in the list - but then they're not links; the shortened URL would have to be copy/ pasted into a browser.
  18. Hi. Due respect, but if you're 'depending' on Evernote and have 'almost 100 shared notebooks' shouldn't you be looking at subscribing if only because you can then get access to the Support team? We're a -mainly- user-supported forum, so unable to look at any activity on your account(s) to see if there are anomalies. You don't mention which web client you're using, which suggests that you might want to switch back from the current beta-but-being-worked-on version to a previous stable option - see 'settings' on the web page for that choice. I'd doubt that the developers had such a complicated shared structure in mind when designing the system, so they may well have not allowed for the intensive workout you're wanting to give it. Evernote (IMHO) is meant to be a general-purpose Lego kit from which you can compile a set of procedures to deal with common tasks. This doesn't exactly appear to be a common task...
  19. Agreed that's not good - suggest you report it to Support as a bug. If you want to save custom colours in the meantime, maybe create a template note with text in the appropriate colours as a 'reference' ??
  20. ...OK I bow to your insider product knowledge, but then you run into the 'why should this feature have priority over 1) the other thousand or so suggestions for better linking / styling / sharing / tagging / presenting ... options in other threads here, and 2) the fact that Evernote are (apparently) currently rebuilding their apps for re-release and won't want to go back and fix the 'old' interface until they get the new one working... Not trying to suggest you shouldn't suggest improvements - just pointing out there may (or may not) be other options, and that we can't get our hopes up until the Elephant has spoken.
  21. Hmmn. I'm -cautiously- back after a database restore which (rather impressively) took only 24 hours to download a 50K note database in full. Still have to import my local notebooks from a backup, and compare the backed-up ENEX files from the 'new' database with the ones from the old -looking for any size differences that might signal note issues. Some work still to do, but looking OK so far....
  22. Hi. I've not tried to use them for this sort of activity, but several automation apps like AHK & Phrase Express will play back a series of movements / keypresses in response to a keyboard shortcut...
