  1. Hi. The template limit applies to those notes you have saved with the 'save as a template' option. If you delete one of those notes, another can be saved in its place. If you use an existing note and copy it - there is no limit; if you export a template note to to ENEX and use that file to generate a new 'identical' note - there is no limit. It might be useful, if you are finding the 20-note limit to be an issue, if you could explain what you're trying to achieve and what is stopping you getting there....
  2. One of our famous authors had a view on this... Why do you have 6 monitors? ……Someone asked the author Terry Pratchett. His reply: “Because I don’t have enough space for eight”.
  3. Another (occasional) Lens user here too - I like the fact that it corrects skewed perspective, especially for things like book covers. Counter for that is I'm generally too lazy to bother with Evernote's (Android) camera app being a tap or two away.
  4. I use a third party app Filterize which added a feature this year... (my color emphasis on part of the text) Haven't used this element next, but Filterize automates several other actions in my account rather efficiently. https://filterize.net/

Hi. The blog is always worth a look... https://evernote.com/blog/2020-update-progress-road-ahead/
  6. Hi. With queries like this it's always good to know what device and OS you're using...and whether this is the mobile/web/installed version of Evernote. There's no way to use a third party app to apply styles to an existing note, but you could set up a template with 'holding text' in the right format and style - for example: Telephone Note date/time from Details - and then replace the already-styled text with your own content. This could also be done by setting up a note in the correct format as a template.
  7. Hi. So what happened after you deleted the database? Have you tried signing into your account via a browser and Evernote.com to see what pops up there? As you;re on a Basic account now, have you exceeded your upload limit?
  8. Hi. As you're a subscriber, I'd suggest a Support ticket via the website?

    Colors

Hi. More color options may be coming along in next-gen Evernote clients, but for the moment what you see is pretty much all there is available. Kanban style boards are possible with a multi-column table and lists of internal note links - a kind of multi-column table of contents list. You'd need to request a full graphic display as a new feature. I'm currently using a third-party app KanbanTool which does exactly what it says on the kan (sorry, that's a kind of a tech-pun...). Tags can be "styled" in the desktop versions and various colors applied - but these may not translate onto the current web clients. Tips for organizing notes, notebooks, and tags How to create a table of contents with links to other notes
  10. Good catch! Does this apply in both desktop and new web versions? Good/ bad news is the new web version is what we're getting next, so while a new release may not cure it, there's at least a chance they can fix this logic trap...
  11. "All the trouble and discussion" was 2 years ago, with no action (that I'm aware of) since. Timelines don't seem to be something for which users are exactly desperate... though I'll confess that I recently looked for a timeline app and found a KanBan app (kanbantool.com) which can be used that way for a very basic list of dates and tasks. Apart from comments to date above, I believe it's a lot more common for timeline options to exist in a variety of apps, depending on the degree of sophistication that you need. Workflowy works fine, though 'integration' is limited to copying and pasting from the app direct into Evernote, or grabbing the URL of the parent bullet to a list (in the format workflowy.com/#/xxxxxxxxxxxx) and pasting that to a link in an Evernote note for quick access to that sub-listing.
  12. Hi. I think this is a security feature - I've seen it on other websites too. I also use a password client - with Evernote I found any character clicked in the user name box (+ <enter>) will generate the pop-up with both fields; then you can use the password app to fill in both fields in one go.
  13. Hi. You added your query to an existing (and different) thread - please repost if you have further issues. The short answer is: the version of the app you're looking at may not have an option to add reminders. Check settings (click your icon at top left) to change the web version.
  14. Hi. If you sort the 'All Notes' view by Created Date (or by Updated Date) you'll see the latest note created (or edited). You could set up a saved search for created:day and have that as a shortcut which would always take you to the notes created today - again sort in date order for fine tuning. (In Windows you can set display order as part of the search process). More search options here... How to use Evernote's advanced search syntax
  15. Hi. Sharing Evernote's Import Folder with another application can give unexpected results - it depends what the 'other' app does with files. Google Drive duplicates the file from the local folder to their web space and then updates both copies as and when changes are made. When Evernote 'sees' a new version of the file in its workspace, it will create a new note. In this case it appears that the file is automatically 'refreshed' by Google, so appears as a new version to Evernote. In addition, an Import Folder will add those files to your account, which itself syncs locally and online. You currently have something like four copies of each file - 2 in Evernote, one in your local Google folder and one in Google Drive, which is obviously a waste of storage space and involves a high risk of conflicting edits on one or more copies of the file. Also: while Google will maintain both copies of its file up to date - so that changes on one will be reflected in another, Evernote's copy is just a snapshot. Future changes will not be included unless made directly to the copy of the file stored in the note. (Editing Google's copy file may have generated new updates and thus these 'duplicate' notes). I'd recommend that you decide which to use - Evernote or Google - and simply use one location to store your files.
  16. It is, but we're not Evernote support and don't have access to any under-the-hood information from your account(s). You're more than welcome to post a query, but you might get a much faster response if you contact Support directly...
  17. Hi. The general feature request forums are here - https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/449-product-feedbackfeature-requests/ split by general requests and individual operating systems. You could post your suggestion for a better intitle: search (I'd suggest a short version!) in the general forum since it seems to apply to both mobiles and desktops. I did realise that my use of intitle keywords meant that I was searching for either a project name or a contact (like PB901633 or Amazon) and looking for one of the most recent notes in that list... so I partially switched to having a separate notebook (I'm now up to 200 or so) for my 'significant contacts' - with some exceptions, like all my user guides are now in one notebook called...|UserGuides. I also use Phrase Express - a text-expander that will place paragraphs here (which is handy) on a couple of keystrokes, and can generate a search query like "intitle:......" and pause for me to fill in the blanks. Having said all of which - take a look at Evernote's new improved search features, which (they say) will be part of our new experience when the latest versions of the apps are relaunched... soon... ?
  18. Hi. Share is the same for both Basic and paid-for users. If you check via the shared page link can you download the attached files? Is it a particularly large file?
  19. But sadly.. while if you need help on a technical issue, we users can offer advice from our collective experience, Evernote support is available only for subscribers via the website link. Everyone else gets access on Twitter @EvernoteHelps or via the Facebook community.
  20. Hi. Do you mean 'clipped from'? There's a search option to find notes that contain clipped material, after which I'd think a search for "medium" or "medium.com" would yield some useful results provided you didn't exclude all extraneous content when clipping your notes.
  21. Hi. If you are selecting a tag from the left panel to see a list of notes, then just 'hovering over' a note to delete it, you in fact, (and as you already know) still have that tag selected, which is why it goes away. You need to select the note you wish to delete before doing so. Agreed there is no coming back from an account-wide tag deletion - there's no 'trash' notebook for tags, and no easy way (AFAIK) to step back... but in a similar situation I'd be inclined to try Ctrl-Z (undo) frantically / and -if that didn't work- kill my network connection, rename my database and recreate the whole thing from the (hopefully unaltered) server copy. Backups are good, too. I'd suggest also that you select notes by searches saved as shortcuts rather than using the left panel. That's my normal habit, and I genuinely haven't lost a tag I didn't mean to delete in 10 years.
  22. Hi. Might be helpful to open a ticket with Support - they may find your logs helpful in resolving how and where this difference arises. As to your query - AFAIK beyond the fact they're different products, coded by different teams... I have no clue.
  23. That's about the same reaction time as Evernote - actually not bad for this current socially distant environment...
  24. Hi This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum. Although Evernote staffers do read the posts here, and there are Admins to keep everyone in line, there's no guarantee when that will be. If you need help on a technical issue, we can offer advice from our collective experience but Evernote support is available (for subscribers) via the website link, and (for everyone) on Twitter @EvernoteHelps or via their Facebook community. If you're using the installed Windows client, notes should be saved on your hard drive as well as synced to the internet. If you were not connected, your local database would have synced and saved any changes to the Server when you eventually were able to get online. Check Evernote > Tools > Options > General for the location of your database. Also have a look online by signing in to Evernote.com to see what is stored on the server. If the total number of notes shown is different, you may only need to sync your database to get them into line. If the total number is the same, and you still have no sign of your lost notes at either end, I'm afraid it looks like Evernote never saw those notes and would be unable to help you recover them.
