Thanks for the cautionary tale - it quite cheered me up! I've pointed out several times in different places here, that Evernote didn't have any price increases for some years, while the value of the actual cash in your pocket plummeted because of pandemics, wars and politics. This latest step gets the cost back in step with the world and lets Evernote continue to provide the service which, at whatever level you subscribe, is a valuable one.

Hi. I asked the AI search "how many of my notes are encrypted?" and got a quick response... from a rapid check they all seem to qualify. Some care is required in phrasing. I first tried "how many notes contain encryption?" which got me a lot of notes containing that word, but which were not, in fact encrypted. The 'new' encryption is actually slightly enhanced from what I remember before - it asks for a clue word or phrase that will be included in the note, but not encrypted. I previously did that manually. EDIT: and then of course I looked up Evernote search terms, and just typing encryption: in the normal search gets me the same answer....

Hmmn. The spreadsheets I have are in XLSX format, but a quick test on my system (Win 11 / EN 10.63.3) shows that content is findable. Maybe try powering your system off and on again? If that doesn't work - contact Support! As a quick thought - is this note shared with you by someone else, or are you the direct owner?

I notice that I have to reconnect my Import Folders every time Evernote updates - and in 10.63.3 (I didn't notice of this applied previously) the message about the ability to delete files after they have been imported "coming shortly" has disappeared. We used to be able to delete files after they were imported to save space and avoid inadvertent duplications (I once had a small batch imported three times). I would really like to have that option again. At the moment it's necessary to save files into this folder, check the app to make sure they were imported, and then delete the content. Auto,mmatic deletion would be nice. Current options are -

Try opening a note in its own window? (Alt+Ctrl+N for a new note) A single note can be quite small, and edited/ viewed alongside a browser web page, or another app very easily.

To export one note, try the three-dots option. To export a notebook, go to the Notebooks page and again look for the three dots menu.

Your links should be preserved, as should any attachments to your notes. If there is a problem, contact Support - or ask here!

Hmmn. Seems to be some sort of trend here... suggest reporting to Support if you're a subscriber and maybe trying Firefox to see if its a Chrome issue.

Clipping is working for me in Vivaldi (another Chrome-based browser). I'd suggest trying another browser to check whether the issue is local or maybe account-based, and consider a power cycle to clear out temporary memory.

That's one reason I don't use the option; if you encrypt an existing note, you can always step back to the plain text. The trick is to encrypt two lines - 11111111111111 22222222222222 Encrypt that text, then decrypt it to edit and type or paste content between those limits. (Your choice which characters to use.)

I tend not to use this feature, but I like the fact the new version includes a hint to be shown in plain text.

Hi. I currently use Workflowy for collapsible lists, and find that I can jump seamlessly from one app to the other with note links (EN) and internal links (WF). Workflowy has this, and some other advantages over Evernote, but sucks when it comes to embedded document files. So Evernote is my 'bulk' long-term storage and WF is a combination index and temporary notepad. (It's also where I keep my boiler-plate answers to Evernote queries to avoid problems if my Evernote is down!) I don't know why Evernote hasn't added this feature - I'm sure the old team had their reasons (or other priorities) but the new owners of Evernote have only had some months to get to grips with some issues, and I'm sure they will look at this again - just not yet...

Evernote v10 requires some minimum system levels described in detail here Older devices will still run Evernote Legacy, but those applications are no longer supported and may stop working. Recommended: if your device is not compliant, convert to the new app now if you can; otherwise find an alternative provider for your note-taking services.
