It’s About Time! The latest Evernote update (10.120.2-win-ddl-public) has finally resolved the persistent CPU usage issue. Details: Version: 10.120.2-win-ddl-public (20241216121508) Editor: v180.11.0 Service: v2.24.0 Previously, keeping Evernote open would result in CPU usage climbing to 11%, which was ridiculous for a note-taking app. With this update, it now uses zero CPU, even while running in the background. I had to open and close Evernote multiple times a day just to free up resources, which caused higher CPU temperatures and increased fan noise. Now, I can leave it open without worrying about it slowing down my system. Well done, Evernote - better late than never!

Quick update on the performance issues I was experiencing with Evernote v10.114.3. I just noticed another thread where someone mentioned enabling hardware acceleration as a potential fix. I gave it a try, turned on hardware acceleration, and restarted the app – and it's made a huge difference! Evernote is running smoothly again. If anyone else is dealing with the same sluggishness after the update, this fix might be worth trying. Just go to Tools > Settings > Enable Hardware Acceleration, and restart the app. Hope this helps others stuck in the same situation!

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give a heads-up about the latest Evernote update – version 10.114.3-win-ddl-public (20241108112058). After installing this patch and hitting "Relaunch," my Evernote has become extremely sluggish to the point of being barely usable. I’ve tried rebooting, but unfortunately, the performance issues persist. If you rely heavily on Evernote for your workflow, you might want to hold off on updating until this issue is addressed. It’s been quite disruptive, and I’m currently stuck with a very slow app. Hopefully, the Evernote team will provide a fix soon, but in the meantime, updating may not be worth the hassle. Cheers and good luck!

Evernote Update: 10.105.4-win-ddl-public (20240910164757) Editor: v179.0.0 Service: v2.9.2 The latest update has been released, addressing the issue where attachment updates were not properly reflected in notes. The problem has been resolved, and after testing, I can confirm that everything is functioning as expected. Excellent news!

The version I installed today through a prompted update is what has caused the above problem: 10.104.3-win-ddl-public (20240904115036) Editor: v179.0.0 Service: v2.8.2 © 2019 - 2024 Evernote Corporation. Thanks for the info, Gazumped. I've kind of already figured out the manual workaround prior to your post, though it’s still confusing and completely counterproductive. But for now, it’s the only way to reflect changes in the notes, so I don’t have much choice. I’ll read up on this RENT thing, but honestly, it shouldn’t have affected the software to the point where users are forced to do manual workarounds, throwing files around, saving changes, re-importing, etc. Anyway, I’ll follow your advice and reach out to support. Hopefully, they’ll sort this out soon. Peace.

I'm having an issue with the latest Evernote update that's caused me to waste a bunch of time. I regularly use a PDF tracking spreadsheet that I open directly from a note, make changes, and save – Evernote would always update the note to reflect those changes. Until today. Now, when I update the spreadsheet, something odd is happening. The note no longer updates as it should, and the thumbnail preview isn't refreshing, which has always worked flawlessly until now. So, cheers to whoever’s behind the scenes messing this up! You've really done a number on it. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Doesn't make any sense if people are installing the version from the Windows Store and it resolves the issue rather odd don't you think , as I'm sure they'll have the same drivers installed .

After reviewing the thread, it's evident that this is not an isolated incident. Janndk's machine using over 25% CPU is alarming and warrants attention from support. It's perplexing that the same application, downloaded from different sources, would result in such disparate CPU idle usage. This unusual situation calls for further investigation. I'll forward this thread to support for their insight. Thank you all for your responses - they've provided valuable information to help address this issue with the support team.

What do you work for support do you ?

Hello Evernote Community, I have recently noticed that Evernote is using around 10% of my CPU even when it is idle, which seems quite unusual. I have attached a screenshot of my Task Manager to illustrate this issue. As you can see, no other application on my system, including my Outlook client, which typically uses around 0.1% to 0.2% CPU when idle, comes close to this level of CPU usage. Most applications run below 0.5% CPU usage at idle. Does anyone know why Evernote might be consuming so much CPU when it's not actively being used? Is this a known issue or is there something I can do to reduce its CPU usage? Thank you for your help! Best regards, KoZz

@bmcl26 Yes, I noticed that too just now after I updated... I was just about to come here and mention it, but you beat me to it.

Frustrating Issue with Saving Multiple Attachments

Ah, yes, that worked! I merged all the individual notes into a single note, then right-clicked on the merged notes and was able to save them as a batch. I'm sure though , you could select each note in the left pane by highlighting the lot and achieve the same result but that clearly didn't work for me, but this method worked as well, so it doesn't matter! Thank you.
