Well, you can actually accomplish that, with a little bit of trickery. Go to https://www.evernote.com/Login.action. Let it complain that it can't display Evernote on the device type, then go to the 'three-dot' menu, and select "Desktop ste". You should see the web browser version at that point. Hint: if you're on a phone, you'll be scrolling a lot.

What title are you seeing?

Is this on Mac? That auto-formatting sequence (```) doesn't work on Windows, and I just inserted a code block in a new note on Windows via the editing toolbar, and was able to add text beyond the code block with no problem.

Just for completeness' sake, in the Windows client you can do this in snippet view, or any of the other view types as well. Click on the icon the red arrow is pointing at, and select "Sort Notes By" and you get a dropdown that allows you to select the field that you want.

Folks, maybe time to back up a bit from the finger pointing; it's irrelevant to the case for notebooks. Fact: Evernote doesn't implement nested notebooks, for whatever reason. At least one Evernote employee has posted about level-of-effort to implement being a big factor; you may choose to believe it or not, but you should consider the publicly available Evernote API and implications on the search language, sharing and other UI (which must be implemented on five separate platforms, at least currently), not to mention the server and sync stuff, to really gauge the impact that that change would necessitate before making a judgment on their sincerity. Fact: nested notebook support is undeniably a very popular feature request. Frustration at the situation is real, and sometimes expressed politely and sometimes not so much, but adding support for nested notebooks would make a lot of Evernote users really happy. Fact: regardless of the lack of nested notebook support, Evernote is an extremely popular software application. How much more popular it would be with nested notebooks is anyone's guess. My take: I accept the level-of-effort explanation, particularly in a time when they're publicly aiming at something else (see the videos in the Behind the Scenes series: https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/306-behind-the-scenes-series/). It's a familiar notion to me, as it's something that I often face in the software development work that I do (in my case, a 20+ year old architecture, though implemented solely on Windows rather than multiple platforms); re-architecting a large and aged and entrenched code base is not always (or even often) a trivial undertaking, no matter how much you want it to happen or what other new improvements it might unlock. Beyond that, adding nested notebook support probably wouldn't influence my use of Evernote a whole lot -- I don't use a lot of notebooks to start with, so nesting the few that I have would be pretty useless for my needs; stacks suffice just fine (hack through they are). But I'll tell you what: if they were implemented, I'd make sure I knew how they worked because 1) I'm interested in the Evernote architecture and range of usage in general, and 2) so that I could help out other users who might be having difficulty with them, just as I'm sure all of the other regulars participating here would, regardless of how they feel about the feature, just as we do with other features that we don't use or use infrequently.

Well why not? Isn't giving other Evernote users ideas as to how to use dashboards to improve organization, productivity, etc. a good use of the forums? And handing out a little swag and/or recognition can help to spur more participation -- especially by people who might not ordinarily participate in the forums -- at a pretty low cost to Evernote. Doesn't need to be fancy. As a longtime, abd reasonably adept, Evernote user, I've used weekly journals to organize the work I do, and that does work to some degree, but seeing the entries here, inspired me to create my own dashboards, both for work and for my personal Evernote, Of course, in true jefito fashion, mine tend to be more spare and utilitarian, and not so fancy as the winners here. Journals give me a record of what I've done; dashboards give me a view of what I need to do next. Not sure how that could be. The forums here are mainly for Evernote user participation: bug reporting, feature suggestions, and helping others with ways to use Evernote better. Sure Evernote has self-interest in increasing user engagement (entanglement?) with Evernote, but Evernote being largely an open format (as in no set rules for use), it helps people who are already invested in Evernote to see what how other Evernote users use Evernote differently, and possibly better. Don't want to share or participate? Fine. There's no rule that requires you to. The beauty of the dashboard concept is that users can build their own pretty easily that suit their own needs, and it doesn't need to be an Evernote feature (i.e., supported in the architecture or UI); it's just something useful that you can do in Evernote with features already available in Evernote.

The "Little Wheel"? Is that an Evernote thing, or an iOS thing? I'm not seeing that on my Android device. Not very exhaustive testing, but I saw no spinning thing on a 10MB PDF in an offline notebook, but did on the same PDF in a non-offline notebook. I didn't check any kind of network activity tool, though. Is it possible that your iPad is memory limited? The offline caching isn't guaranteed if available memory is low...

Not quite what I suggested. If you want to keep personal stuff private, then don't share it to a different account on work/shared computer. If you need to access your private stuff, do it on your phone. Sharing notebooks to a different account doesn't require you to log into a new account to see the shared notebooks. Beyond that, if you somehow need to view your private stuff on a work/shared computer, then there's still always the risk that you'll have your computer in a state where it can be seen anyways, since what you suggested leaves that door open anyways, because it can always still be selected explicitly.

On WIndows, Win+L locks your desktop. Or you can set Windows to do it automatically after some time has passed.

Or you could just use separate accounts, and share only what you want visible in your "non-Personal" account. Passwords for single notesand also for notebooks have been requested elsewhere in this forum. You should find those requests and add your vote.

Not so sure about that -- source for the claim? Surely, if online, then a check must be made to ensure that the one on the device is the same as the one on the server, but that doesn't require downloading the whole note from the servers (maybe using http://dev.evernote.com/doc/reference/NoteStore.html#Fn_NoteStore_getNoteWithResultSpec with appropriate parameters?),. If it's already cached and unchanged, then that version can be used, and if edited, can be synced upstairs.

There are many reasons why this is not a great idea. For a general overview, see the classic https://www.joelonsoftware.com/2000/04/06/things-you-should-never-do-part-i/. This doesn't imply that Joel's analysis is completely correct for all cases-- sometimes a complete rewrite is warranted -- but still, this article frames things a bit. I see this, too, in the brand new 6.22.3.8816 (308816) beta. Not sure that I would have classified that as a bug, though -- could go either way. I can use the back button (Alt_ArrowLeft) to get to where I was before (All Notes in the note I linked from), which I like.

If reminders on Android stayed more or less the same, then that would be fine by me. They follow along the current search filter, the reminders list can be expanded or snapped shut, and the list can be ordered arbitrarily or by due date. This is all similar to the Windows Evernote application. They need to be added to the web application. I don't know how they play out on the Apple devices currently, so I can't comment on those. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= With respect to the video, I like how this effort seems to be playing out. Removing device-specific quirks (quirkarounds??) is really important to make the user experience similar/identical across different devices. A lot of people depend on nested tags, so they need to be supported everywhere, in a similar fashion (Android kinda sorta had already, as well, but presented differently than, say, on Windows application). Moving tags around the hierarchy did seem a little awkward, still; I suppose that drag and drop stuff is less useful on small-screened devices, but it's so ingrained in most of us now that it would be welcome, too. Making search work the same everywhere is also critical -- I've only seen the new search on the web beta, and have some issues with that, but the focus on responsive results stuff is welcome. I think that the feature that I would most like to see added everywhere is multi-selection of notes, which opens the door to mass tagging notebook change operations, as well as note merging. This is all good stuff, and thanks/congratulations, Evernote!

Adding search syntax that takes into account tag hierarchy has already been suggested, from me (I could find it, with some effort), at least, somewhere around 8 or 9 years ago. The Windows client has this capability, but it's an all or nothing affair (global setting) rather than a change to the search language, which is what I prefer. As it happens, though, I don't depend on hierarchical anything in Evernote, except for using a couple of stacks for organization. For me, the fact that a note can be categorized by more than one makes organization a lot easier and more flexible than with nested notebooks. *shrug* Horses for courses...

My guess is that the site you clipped (assuming that it was a web clipping) from had a link to that image on a different server, and the image was then removed from the server, so nobody gets it. Did you check the original web site to see if the image is there and has the same link?

You might look at a 3rd-party solution like AutoHotKey or PhraseExpress. It may be the case that use of Ctrl+Alt in Evernote shortcuts is interfering with your usage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AltGr_key#Control_+_Alt_as_a_substitute). In particular, I see Ctrl+Alt+V as the Evernote shortcut for Paste Clipboard. You might try disabling that: Tools / Options / Shortcut Keys
