  1. Back from starting up on battery and without any cable attached. Very similar, no lag, other behavior similar to what I have described before. CPU is going up to 10% max., coming down, maybe back up to 7-8% when scrolling notes with pics. Switching between notes with pics make no difference. EN behaves the same whether on partial display, full screen or complete screen mode. The notes I view have pics in the 2MB range, most of them 3-4 pics, one note has about 10 pics, one of them has even 12MB, all jpegs. My stronger GPU should have nothing to do with showing the pics. In fact I doubt that it is even used in this scenario. Conclusion: I am not able to replicate your situation, even though our setup is close to identical. Maybe your best bet is give it a try with support.
  2. My config is pretty similar, just it is an i7 with Pro Vega 20 GPU. I pretty much use it in my office, so it is most of the time connected to a monitor. Now I have tried all setups: With attached screen (HDMI through a Thunderbolt dock), USB-C-cable unattached, EN in large mode on the MBs retina, EN in full screen mode on the MBs retina. Behavior is quite similar between the setups, no significant lag. What I observe is in notes that contain several pics, EN "builds" all pics at the same time when you open a note. Every pic starts from top to bottom to show, and if there is more than one visible, you can see that it will start on the second pic at the same moment as on the first one. But this takes only a blink, and then pics are displayed. During this initial phase, my CPU goes up to appr. 8% (in total, not only EN), after 2-3 sec it goes back to about 4%. Memory usage is low (just in the 4-6 GB range, since I have no opened much before testing). I will just run a second test, this time unattaching the TB dock before starting up. Will be back ...
  3. Can you tell more about your configuration (Mac, OS, EN version etc.) ? Are the critical notes loaded with pictures, or is there just one „needed“ to create a lag ? Working on a Mac myself, no lagging, but as well only few notes with pictures.
  4. Just want to make sure nobody expects anything to happen by posting here. If it does, be happy !
  5. A certain scarceness of information content can not be overlooked, partly made up for by fast and easy reading ... 😳
  6. Betas are not a nice add-on for early birds to really work with new stuff - it is for testing, crashing and debugging. One should expect to loose something, like time, patience and sometimes even data. EN runs its own beta-program where users are in close contact with beta support. Who is not in (like me, not doing betas) may try, but on his own peril. Especially early betas (concerning iOS 13 and ipadOS we are still early) will lack a lot of functions. The betas of apps logically lag behind those of the OS. This forum is for User-to-user exchange and is not permanently monitored by EN staff. They will show along, from time to time, which usually proves helpful. But there is no schedule for this. Conclusion: If somebody is running his own beta-testing and want to communicate something to EN, a support ticket is the most appropriate way to do this.
  7. Another way would be to create a note with a table (or a stock of several such notes) in advance. If Android behaves like iOS, it may be difficult to create tables (iOS allows it through [ ]-brackets), but they still can be used and if needed expanded line by line, using a keyboard with a tag - function.
  8. Additional information: The notebooks content will be moved to the trash, so all of the notes will be still available, until Trash is emptied. However it is not possible to restore the notebook itself. So if there are many notes in the notebook to be deleted, think about it twice. Recovery must be done note by note ...
  9. If you want to make EN work on it, I propose a support ticket. They will not drive by here and pick it up. For me it is still not clear why clipping of a plain image should be restricted in Chrome, and not in other Browsers. I think to sort this out somebody with an installation of that type is needed.
  10. It is nicely described what happens if a function is removed: There may be a lot of content that was built over time and is now unusable. So for sure this is an issue with support. @igeret If this won't help please come back here, if necessary by direct message (we are all users, and may not read every posting).
  11. Yes, this is "Screenshot" in German. And it screenshots whatever I want. At least here on the Mac, and I would be surprised if this would be different with Firefox on Windows. I have never encountered a restriction of size to what I can copy. The only thing was that Firefox for quite a while refused to open Webclipper when on a page with a pdf. Sorry, no Chrome ... I avoid Google products as much as possible on my computers, same with Facebook ... My solution would be to rather catch the whole pdf. It will probably not be larger than an image of just a part of it, and can be searched without any further action. If I needed a screen copy, and WebClipper would fail me, I would probably use the Clipping tool of Win10 to cut out what I want, and send it to Evernote as an image.
  12. MacOS ? No, it seems it works as you describe it. You get a list of notes with the tag, but no overview of notebooks. The "tag search" by clicking on the symbol is pretty barebone anyhow. From my perspective, this would rather be a case to use some search syntax, and save these searches for later adaption.
  13. You're right, I did not think it through. Then no idea for now. Do language settings change this in other apps where it works ? So is it something the apps "borrow" from iOS, or is it from your experience a native specialty of some apps ? This forum is user driven. So support may say what they want, this is a support issue. Voting here may help EN to get things sorted into a sequence, but there are voting threads open since several years, with a 3-digit-number of votes, and still pending. Chances are that this will not move things. So your best bet is to give it another try with support.
  14. IMHO the question is where to the link will lead. EN-internal: Can be retrieved when knowing enough keywords to go through search. Local Computer, own network: Depends on its organization, and whether the files are indexed or not. Here often knowing the files title is the key. Weblinks: Unreliable, so if it is important, clip the whole thing. Otherwise you have to rely on Google et al, which is of no help if the target was removed or significantly altered meanwhile. In general, because link errors will accumulate over time, it is a balance between spending a lot of time NOW on how to build a backup strategy to a broken link, or invest some time for a search in the future. Even if the link is broken, the note containing it will usually tell enough to search & find, so I am not investing a lot of effort to make linking waterproof.
  15. My answer would be "now". Screenshots: Pick the symbol above the keyboard, second from the left, pick the right alignment - this will move the paragraph you selected it from to the right, from then on the next paragraphs will be added with right alignment. To close the selection window an go back to typing, hit the "X" beside the "+". The only issue is: You can not put it into the settings, you have to pick it anew with each new note.
  16. My conclusion: Maybe something specific to Webclipper on Chrome with handling of embedded pdfs. For some time, there was something similar with Firefox: It would no let you clip any pdf. One had to go into the pdf and use commands like "save" to send a copy to the computers disk.
  17. @Atul Mishra Tried the link from Safari / Mac: Worked perfectly, both via Webclipper direct, as well as through the button "Save pdf to Evernote" created by Webclipper via Settings. It always clips the whole pdf, which has several pages. You have chosen the option "Snapshot" (visible by the tools displayed in your screenshot), which creates an image of the website on display. Tried this as well, worked as well with the whole screen area selected. Is there no option "pdf" when you try to clip this in Chrome, or did you want to clip an image ?
  18. Betas are for sure nice, because they already have what the official release lacks. So far, so nice. But betas as well have per definition an enhanced risk of being bug infeasted. So everybody can balance these two aspects for himself. By general agreement, you can REPORT bugs on a beta, but you can not CLAIM for their removal. Taking the beta means living with the bugs. Because EN does for sure comprise many lines of code, there will be many hours spend on debugging. My last estimate from industry sources is that you will on average have one bug per 100 lines of code ...
  19. You can set a reminder for the next action in a note, and repeat this whenever you have done it and set the position to done. Problem: Just one reminder per note, completely sequential, date-oriented (not all tasks will have a fixed date). Or you could set up something following GTD, like creating silos do when at igloo x When contact with xx, here fred When on the ice-phone, call mum etc. Then you could work with tags, even several tags on the same note, to fill the respective silos containing the tasks. thus you can follow up in the tasks independently. Some could be time-set, others depending on occasion (when going to visit igloo 1 today, create list of all to-dos at igloo1). The silos can be accessed by searching for the tags, like using saved searches for each. Maybe look for GTD by David Allen, and for an Evernote implementation of GTD for thesecretweappon for further information.
  20. The internal search of EN is working. In this thread the discussion is about a function of MacOS not being able to find information inside the EN database except for words in titles. This is an external search into the EN data. Clearly I would be happy if this would work, but I think fixing something that is not in your own responsibility is always trickier than fixing a bug in your own code. If I really want to find something, I simply have to go to EN itself and do the search. This is not restricted by spotlight. And I can save my repetitive searches which makes searching more efficient and straightforward.
  21. Then all of your data will still be there, waiting to be opened with the correct account credentials.
  22. Do you run a regular backup of your Mac (typically with Time Machine) ? Then you can roll back in any case, including your local notebooks. Secondly, as long as you have not logged into the new installation, all of your stuff will still be on your Mac. Any overwriting activity from the server will not start until after the signing has happened. So you should be still on the safe side, even if you and I might not know exactly what is going on. Because there are no server copies, local notebooks should never be touched by any server sync operation. So why not postponing any further steps, and put yourself into contact with support, via chat or ticket ?
  23. The real fix is to update to 7.11 (not the beta, the real thing). With my MBP the message popped up as you say, out of blue sky. By installing rel. 7.11, things were fixed instantly.
  24. Had the blank Support page today as well. However, search worked, so even when the page initially was blank, support articles were shown. Just tested it, seems to be back to normal.
