  1. E-ink tablets are short of resources. They are optimized for long periods without recharging. Punny little CPUs, little memory, in total no performance architecture. EN on the other hand is running inside of a framework - practically a design like an app inside of a virtual machine. These two concepts are on opposite ends of a longevity vs. performance scale. In a few words: Nice idea - forget it.
  2. Please remove this entirely useless activity log you posted in your thread opening. It just bloats things and is uncool.
  3. To go to the core of your post (which is a challenge in itself): Very long, text based notes can be slow to edit. This was already answered: Break them down into several smaller notes, and the handling is back to normal. EverNOTE is for creating and editing notes, else it would be called EverNOVEL. If you want to report a bug, contact support.
  4. At EN on the Free Plan you live from the contributions of your fellow users. It just seems for Filterize the figures did not match to continue this game. They got seed money as a startup - so again burning other peoples money for a free offer. But of course you can decide to continue to believe in Santa Claus.
  5. Right so: EN is the market leader in note taking software. These minions like MS Word should take an effort to be able to import. Beside this irrelevancies: Running LibreOffice on my Mac - what is this W-o-r-d you are talking about ?
  6. You are using a lot of formatting options in EN, options that obviously MS Word does not understand. Sorry to tell, but you are in the wrong forum. If you want Word to correctly understand the HTML code created by EN, you need to ask MS to develop this ability. There is no obligation for EN to support export to a closed, proprietary, private data format labeled with „MS Word“. You can use HTML export as far as it will take you, and from there onwards you are on your own. Or with the Word forum - QED.
  7. You could install the legacy client, and run „all“ in one go to an ENEX file. The result is a heap of notes, without any notebook information or structure. If this does the job, use it. If you need the notebook structure, you need to do the export notebook by notebook, legacy or new clients. Then there is a service called „backuppery“. You can run regular backups by using it. Downside: It will AFAIK cost you more to backup using this service than your regular EN subscription does. And only works on Windows, and with a legacy client: https://www.backupery.com/products/backupery-for-evernote/ Personally I do something else: I have an backup program locally run a backup of the …/Evernote folder. On the Mac it is even included in the regular TimeMachine backups. I need a working EN client to open the backup, but that‘s the only thing that needs to be in place.
  8. AFAIK HTML can be opened (or maybe imported). It is another question whether the result is usable without some rework. This depends on the use case. An alternative might be export to pdf, and then extracting the text content to a word document. EN is no word processor, the exchange of notes as files or files as notes it not in the scope. The EN editor (even more so in v10, and this is intentional) is build for fast, efficient note taking, without a lot of the bling bling MS Word brings along. Furthermore the EN data format is not page oriented - it works like a website, for each note. If you want to use EN with Word, attach the word file to a note.
  9. Unfortunately it seems the forum is not used by EN staff as a general source of feedback. On some issues yes, especially on tasks we got some input from staff, but not in a broader view. This means it is a ticket, or it drops out of sight.
  10. See the post right above yours ? No, you were busy writing your own. Try the procedure described there.
  11. Do the images show when you download them from the note, and try to open them in another app ?
  12. This help document tells all there is to know about audio recordings: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314418 When on professional, the problem that EN saves audio directly to the note should not apply - but if it was a long meeting, there is still a chance the recording got lost when it outgrew the limit for a single note (which is 200MB). You say you opened the audio after the meeting - then it should have saved as well. But it may be it was still on the device, and had not yet synced to the server. So try to open it on the same device you used for the recording. In general you need to keep the app open and active to make sure large notes will sync - iOS is pretty radical in cutting background apps off (to save battery charge). A note not synced will show an empty note history - to build note history a successful sync must happen first. When you contact support, do it from the same device where you recorded, and attach the activity log (it should be ON by default, then just don't toggle it off). Personally I don't use the EN audio recording feature. I always prefer a recording that saves on device first - I can upload it later. I use on iOS and Mac the app JustPressRecord. It has the ability to transcribe the audio automatically, which can be a big time saver.
  13. "Brutal" - hope you don't experience anything "brutal" in your life that teaches you the true meaning of the word. A "mild nuisance" probably describes it better.
  14. 10.35 got released for iOS as well and is available for download in the AppStore. The release notes mention 2 main improvements: - Recurring tasks - Easier handling of hyperlinks in text (just copy the URL, highlight a text, insert the link, done)
  15. My import folder looses connection sometimes, but not with a pattern like rebooting the Mac. Most of the time it sticks, in a few cases I had to reconnect.
  16. Skitch content can only be modified in Skitch. It is a separate app, and EN does not have the tools build in to alter a Skitch document. No, this is not customer friendly, and as @gazumped explained a left over from the „old“ EN buying other apps and companies, but not integrating them completely. I rather avoid Skitch, at least on the Mac.
  17. Where else than in Help would you look if you don’t find something, and want to get at it ? One of the most underestimated menus … You can have it more easily as well: Watch at the left column, then go down to the bottom of it. See the little keyboard symbol ? Click it, and the keyboard shortcuts open. To change any, hover with the mouse over a position. 3 dots appear in front of it: Click on them, and you get the editing option.
  18. This is a known behavior since v10 was released. To make EN aware of your wish, use the feedback function or a support ticket.
  19. There is a known bug that all URLs containing the „magic“ characters HOME (in this sequence) will take you to the HOME page of EN, instead of to the correct place on the web. Somebody at EN must really be in love with it. This bug has been there prior to 10.40, and it seems it wasn’t fixed with that release. Workaround: Copy the URL to a browser, open the link there.
  20. There is more to the AppStore vs. direct download issue on a Mac. The AppStore versions always execute in a sandbox. It is the same code, but MacOS is running it in a restricted mode. This means access to OS functions (like sharing, printing etc.) can refuse to work, or have reduced functionality. Some can be healed by system settings, in some aspects this didn’t work. To avoid surprising deficiencies, I always run the direct download. On installing it will ask whether I trust it - from then it will run with less restrictions than the same version from the AppStore.
  21. There is still no official release I would be aware of. Probably the link was only valid for a certain time. To check for sure go through support.
  22. Sounds like Easter and Xmas on the same day … Maybe you poked around a little and found a small Apple Watch app as well, right behind that thick chunk of code over there ? 🤣
  23. My opinion: We are other users. We can try to help you, but we can’t solve an issue that looks like it has some deeper roots. Subscribe for a month. This will give you access to support, unlimited devices and so on. Sorting it out when in the next step we use 2 unsyncs, and then need to wait 30 days until it resets is not the way to help you out.
  24. This app integration is sort of special it seems. Better ask support, attach an activity log.
  25. AFAIK this belongs to the Chinese fork of Evernote, Yinxiang and has nothing to do with Evernote from the US or this forum. Go ask the right people, which is not us.
