  1. Shocking ... proposed it 2 years before, and they did not implement it until today ... bewildering Sometimes I ask myself if this forum is mainly there to "prove" how clever some users are. It coincides nicely by the use of drastic prose to describe every day nuisances. It is an app under constant development. If you have an idea, you can drop it here: feedback@evernote.com
  2. If cmd - 0 solves you problem, you had zoomed in / out. cmd - 0 resets the zoom factor to 100% This means you had altered it before - maybe without noticing.
  3. Skip that „for me“. It IS a black hole, for every user. Or I still need to meet the one that is satisfied by what he got.
  4. Log out, quit the client. Use Revo Uninstaller to remove the install from the PC. Restart the computer, install fresh from the EN website. Open, log in. Let it run for an extended time, it will download content.
  5. Posting a screenshot would make it easier to understand what you mean.
  6. Right - all steps are independent. You don't need to create ENEx files at all - you can simply move everything into the Python DB, and save it there. So the only job that should be executed with some frequency is the actual download from the cloud server. Best practice is running it automatically with a task manager script.
  7. Actually it's 1-2-3: Create account access, run the download, create the ENEX files.
  8. Maybe the idea that a software price increase will break the bank offers some consolation ...
  9. This looks more like a question that should be asked at Microsoft than here. It is not transparent (not for an app dev, not for you, not for us) when and why a security software will treat a data flow differently. Most apply some "self learning" routines, and some heuristics (assumptions) to detect activities that may have escaped the AV database. And there you go, a false positive is created, users shaken, confidence eroded. That's what like happened in your case. But again, ask Microsoft.
  10. Actually reading this I wonder why after 15years of non contribution to the community, it is now necessary to post - just to announce the further non contribution. The logic behind this escapes me 🤔
  11. Scannable is by far not the best app to scan documents. It is 10 year old technology, and you feel it. My favorite scanner app for iOS is Scanner Pro by Readdle. It’s not free, but worth the price. It has workflows that even allow to send a scan to a specific notebook, complete with tags.
  12. This thread is about the slash suggestion text. This does not exist on iOS (latest version is 10.87.1). Insofar you are talking in riddles in your first paragraph about formatting problems. WTF - elaborate if you want an answer. Many keyboard shortcuts can be edited, among them cmd-S. Not sure why you are writing a (short) novel about your problems with it, when you then tell you could edit it, and it‘s now to your liking. Why making a fuzz when the predefined shortcut can be tweaked (many can be modified, which is not the standard for most apps) ? My impression is you don‘t feel comfortable with the way the app is evolving. In this case I can only tell you: Go watching. The app will do what the devs envision - no matter if you like it or not.
  13. Well, an OS abandoned by it’s maker in 2010, extended support ended in 2020. A software deprecated since nearly 4 years. I agree this setup is quite ridiculous reckless, especially when used on a laptop connected to the internet of 2024. Only visiting a website can fully compromise this laptop. Usually any PC able to run Win7 is as well able to run Win10. This would be the clean update path, and then install v10 of the EN desktop client.
  14. First you generalize and don’t mention the client. There are (subtle) differences between desktop, mobile and web. Second you explicitly asked for tag search. If you want to search for tags, you have to tell the system that it should look for tags. Text search is something else. Third there is a difference how search results show. If in a notes text, it’s highlighted directly. If the search term inside of an attachment, you sometimes need to search in the note, or in the document to locate it after the note is found.
  15. Suddenly in April, the Web Clipper on Safari ... continues to work as it always did. It's in the toolbar. Try right click in tool bar, edit tool bar, drag the elephant icon into the active area. It's logging into the account - for which it briefly opens a window. Make sure popup windows are allowed for Evernote.com. If it refrains to work (not my case), a logout/login or a fill uninstall/reinstall may help. Sorry, that's standard stuff. It doesn't have to do with EN, it has to do how Apple is increasing browser security (which is a good thing) and makes sure on potentially critical actions that the users intends to do what he tries to do (which is another good thing). But as all security measures, it can get into the way things used to work.
  16. EN 10.87.5, MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1 No lagging on scrolling at all - fast and snappy, both inside the note or using the scroll bars. Tried with Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad (external) on MacBook Pro 14" M2 Max in clamshell mode, and with the build in touchpad when opened.
  17. If you want to search for myword, type myword into the search field. If you want to search for the TAG myword, type tag:myword into the search field. Or use the filters option.
  18. If you watch at the timeline, you see that the first answer predates the second.
  19. In general I would not have devs answer to customers in a setup like EN. You need solid instruments to split issues of general interest from special issues, and from user pet projects. This said, support needs to function. And this is determined by the quality of the answer, the problem solution and the speed. My feeling is that this all „leaves room for improvement“.
  20. Support is AFAWK not present in the forum - it’s user 2 user. For support issue a ticket (and don’t expect anything fast or beyond some text blocks). For feature requests use the feedback function in the clients.
  21. If I remember it correctly this has been asked and answered a short while ago. Use forum search, don’t post the same stuff twice. If I recall it correctly, the answer is No.
  22. I just asked AI to wrap this up for me: „Evil zombies are behind all AI“. I support your instinct that discussing this discovery elsewhere is an excellent move.
  23. OK, good that it works now. An alternative could be to D&D a file on an Import Folder linked to a notebook. Not as precise in choosing the target location.
  24. You are answering to a post violating the forum rules by containing a commercial link. Don’t expect an answer from this spammer. Before moving to a new device, make sure that everything is synced with the server before you erase the old device. The option to force a sync is in the app settings .
