I do find that it's possible to paste a URL and not get a link, if there is a punctuation mark directly after it. And, for me, I find this annoying--I want the link. Can you give some more details about the other problem: There have been threads here about difficulties copying images from Evernote to paste elsewhere. Is that the issue?

Shareable links not working
Dave-in-Decatur replied to dleach4512's question in General Technical Issues
There is at least one other thread on this going on. I note that your link is of the form https://www.evernote.com/l/.... The "l" suggests that it was created in the legacy (v. 6.25) program, which seems to be where the problem is. Take a look at this thread: See especially this comment in the thread: -
Annoying notification about account upgrade

A classic use of the idiomatic English "you" meaning, indeed, "one," quite impenetrable to speakers of rational languages like German. -
Cannot edit notebook after sharing
Dave-in-Decatur replied to Gracilis's question in General Technical Issues
Please be aware that these are user-to-user forums; Evernote staff may look in sometimes, but generally speaking, no one here can make this programming change. FWIW, I find that in the current version of the Web client and the Android app, when I go to share a note's link to a specific person, I am offered the options "Can edit and invite, Can edit, Can view." I presume you're seeing something similar. But, as you've found, "Can edit" does not mean "Can move to another notebook." I'm not sure that Evernote has ever allowed that with a shared note (though I could be wrong). This sounds like a different problem, and it is a well-known and long-standing issue that once a note is shared, the person receiving the shared note can't delete it. It would help if you would explain what you're trying to do in greater detail. -
Share Link Error
Dave-in-Decatur replied to tianlee726's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
See this ongoing thread: -
So, the question is bug (@markeh, @Astopia) or feature (@AlbertR, me)? I expect a new note to be opened in the same window size and position as the last note that was opened as a separate window, even if it was a different note. I don't expect Evernote to remember the last opened size and position of every note ever opened in a separate window--for some users, that could run into hundreds or thousands.

Any numbering system would be one that you have created, since AFAIK Evernote doesn't number them (apart from the randomly generated ID number that each note gets). So it's basically all renaming. I've never worked with as complex a system as yours, but I wonder whether, rather than mass renaming of notebooks, it might be simpler to create new notebooks with the desired names and then move notes en masse from old notebooks to new ones, finally deleting the old, now-empty notebooks. Not knowing the details, this may be a dumb idea, or an obvious one you've already tried. Just a thought.

Web clipper: Task. How do I turn OFF this option?
Dave-in-Decatur replied to TdeV's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I haven't done a lot of clipping lately, and I generally don't add either tags or tasks, but often add remarks, which remain at the bottom. I'll learn to skip past one more thing, but given the great variety of ways that people use Evernote it does seem that having a preference to order or select these options would be in order. Best way to encourage that would be to use the app or Web client's Feedback feature. -
Strange memory issues with windows desktop EN v10
Dave-in-Decatur replied to idoc's topic in Evernote General Discussions
This is a very inside-the-U.S. perspective, but I once heard a speaker (in about 1974!) say that our pioneer ancestors in the 19th century, if they missed the wagon train west, just waited 6 months for the next one. We get aggravated if we miss one space in a revolving door. -
Strange memory issues with windows desktop EN v10
Dave-in-Decatur replied to idoc's topic in Evernote General Discussions
There have been other reports of one recent version of Evernote consuming large amounts of resources. Can't recall if the solution was to wait for the next upgrade (10.53), restart, reboot, or what. -

SCRATCH BOARD IMPROVEMENTS
Dave-in-Decatur replied to NITIN SHAH's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Just to be clear, these are primarily user-to-user forums. Evernote staff may look in sometimes, but this is not a reliable way to communicate ideas to them. There are feedback/request forums (https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/449-product-feedbackfeature-requests/), and also a feedback feature in each Evernote app. -
Offer what? You didn't ask for anything. You came in yelling insults at people who aren't here, and then turned to abusing people who are. Nevertheless, I will offer this (as I did in one of your other TOS-violating multiple posts): if you want to tell Evernote what you think of them, contact support, since you are paying them for the right to do so. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new I should let @PinkElephant speak for himself, but I can tell you he is not PC. He is Mac all the way.

Note links generated by the API do not work.
Dave-in-Decatur replied to P4T's question in General Technical Issues
Hello, and welcome to the forums. Can you say some more about how you are generating the links that don't work? I find that links are working, whether I create them from within a note that I want to link, using the "Copy internal link" function on the ... menu, or from within a note in which I want to insert a link, using Ctrl+Alt+K. EDIT: Forget this. I misunderstood the problem, which concerns shared note links, not internal linkes. -
So you can't copy images from one note into another?? WOW!!!!
Dave-in-Decatur replied to acpitt's question in General Technical Issues
I've counted 3 posts of yours so far, including two that are new threads, yelling insults at people who are not here. Since you have a dozen or so previous posts, you presumably know these are user-to-user forums. To contact Evernote with appropriate verbal abuse, use the verbal abuse feedback feature in the app, or contact support if you have a subscription. Triple posting is not a great use of anyone's time. -
Have You Discovered Import Folders?
Dave-in-Decatur replied to Dave Edwards's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I was a little brusque that day, and apologize. As I've said, I'm fine with your posts in response to questions and existing threads; I find that helpful. It's the starting a thread just to promote a tutorial that bothers me. But whatever. It's not my call in the end, and I wish you the best in your work. -
There must be some legitimate uses for it Maybe compiling a user manual from the drafts of separate chapters? Trying to think, trying to think ... maybe ask ChatGPT if it has any legitimate uses? Has it learned to be defensive and self-protective yet? Toward the end of my teaching career, students who were inclined to plagiarize started to do it off the Internet. It was so easy to spot, and of course if I suspected a passage I could just Google it too. But teachers and professors will have to give writing assignments that include personal interaction with the subject matter, not just regurgitation of facts, checked or not. And again, the seams between the cribbed and the original are always detectable. As is the case in the forums, just to return to the point in question.
