  1. In my case duplicating the note does not generate a thumbnail in the new note. BTW How do you deal with links to the original note? Links pointing to the orginal note will not link to the duplicated version of the note.
  2. I solved this problem by starting the title of a note with a date in the format YYYYMMDD. Add an addtional number if more than one note is related to the same date if you want a specific sequence of your notes when sorted on title name. You may use the current date or date of creation. When writing journals or historical notes you may enter dates in te past or the future. This also makes searching for notes in a certain time period much more easy. I automated this way of working by using autotext apps. In my case Phrase Expres.
  3. I use Evernote for almost a decade for my work (until just recently) and for private note taking. Nowadays I use it also for my study on psychology. In this long period I had several systems for organizing my notes. Every couple of years I adjusted it because my work flow had changed. This implies renaming stacks, notebookes and tags, including moving notes and notebooks around. The syntax of my tags are highly structured to make it easy for me to use. Problem is that with that many notebooks and tags a change of work flow is not easy to accomplish as in EN notebooks and tags have to be renamed one by one. This is a tedious job which takes a lot of time and is fulnerable for making errors. It would help me a lot if Evernote had a bulk editing facility for (re)numbering and (full and partial) renaming of notebooks and tags.
  4. I do not agree with your opening statement. I use it frequently. Problem is that when Evernote is started again it will import all files from all import folders, even the files which have been imported before. So I have to delete the old and new imported notes again and again. That does not improve my workflow.
  5. Links TO the new, duplicate note will be lost, i.e. existing links will only refer to the orginal note.
  6. In the webversion of Evernote v 10.39.7 web 308 the problem seems solved as well. Great!
  7. With update 10.39.6 this problem seems solved for the Windows environment on my laptop. In stead of installing Evernote for one user only I returned to my habit to install Evernote voor multiple users (although there is only only one user on my laptop). I do not know if this has to do anything with the problem, but when I am desperate I become a bit superstitious. The webversiion is still experiencing the problem.
  8. I reinstalled an older version of E10. Now I can search for a lable by typing its name in the dialogue box. Of course, this is not the real solution.
  9. Due to this issue of not being able to select tags with the dialogue box, I use Evernote Legacy when working with labels. This made me wonder: Is it safe to install an older version of Evernote inwhich the lables (still) worked?
  10. I try to select lables using the lable slection dialogue box, but cannot enter any character. How come? What can I do about this?
  11. The sacrifice which I must make, I just discovered, when using the English (US) as default language is that I cannot use the French characters like é and others which appear in Dutch frequently. So, for the time being, I will use Dutch as default language and elaborate on your advise to change the shortcuts as you proposed. Still, I'm grateful, because I know more about the issue and have clues to deal with it.
  12. Could you temporarily change your default anguage to English and then see if you get the same issue. I changed the default language from Dutch to English (US). The problem seems to be solved. The shortcuts I frequently use now work in the proper way, i.e. without printing ' weird characters' in the current note. For your information: Legacy seems to stay working normally after the change of default language. Legacy and v10 work well when running at the same time in case of the default language is English (US). Thanks very much for your help! I'm grateful.
  13. It happens every time I use a shortcut. I use mostly CTRL+ALT+T and CTRL+ALT+L. The default language of my laptop is Dutch. For testing purposes I entered CTRL+ALT+T and CTRL+ALT+L in Notebook. The app returns þ and ø. As a matter of fact, it happens when entering these 'shortcuts' in this window. This is intended, I assume. No problem here. So, for me it is clear that Evernote v10 passes the 'keycode' to another app, probably Windows, while it should not (I don't know how this works) and at the same time it executes the shortcut as it should. When finished with the intended operation, I have to delete this character with backspace.
