  1. Well, the Evernote app updated on my phone this morning, without any intervention on my part that I'm aware of. It's working fine, with widgets and note shortcuts very usable and no sync issues so far.🤞
  2. Many thanks, everyone. I do like to have shortcuts to a few individual notes on the Android home screens, and I make occasional use of other widgets. I don't use tasks much yet, so issues with that widget wouldn't be much of a problem (yet). From what I've seen of reports of sync and duplication issues, it seems to be quite hit or miss as to who gets them, but they do seem to show up heavily on Samsung phones, though as @agsteele says that may just be because of Samsung's prevailing dominance. I've got a strong WiFi connection at home, so I'm going to go ahead and try v. 10, because I do esp. want its formatting features and other functions. I'll report back if I run into problems.
  3. I have had to do an emergency phone upgrade (I literally bricked my old Android 9 phone -- dropped it on a brick porch and cracked the screen so the display is practically invisible). So I've got a new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. All my apps transferred from the old phone, including Evernote v. 8. I can upgrade to v. 10 on the new phone, but am hesitant, knowing that many report sync and duplicate issues. But my real question, also causing hesitation: early on, Evernote for Android v. 10 no longer had widgets for the Android home screens. Have they been restored by now?
  4. Interesting, seeing the same thing on MS Edge. Too busy/lazy at the moment to do a restart, but the problem seems to be with Wikipedia in "Chrome-based" browsers, not just Chrome itself.
  5. This is clearly happening to some people and not to others, which suggests it could be a solvable (but maybe not easily solvable) problem. Have you gotten a response to your Evernote support ticket?
  6. My post was not addressed to you, but was responding to a new person posting here, who may not have read through the discussio. But, OK. Which panel is it that you wish to hide, and in which Evernote client (Windows or Mac desktop, Web, etc.)? By "note preview" panel, do you mean the middle panel with the list of notes (which can contain previews in some view options)? That can be hidden with the "expand note" button. Or the right panel where each note is displayed individually? I consider that to be the note editing panel. It can't be completely hidden (perhaps because only a small number of people want to do that), but it can be reduced by dragging the border of the middle panel as far into it as possible. It might also be possible to customize the Home page to have nothing but a list of filtered notes.
  7. Sounds good. Be sure to include a link to this thread in the support request.
  8. Yes, it does seem to be highly intermittent. I just tried it again, and it works fine (including relatively speedy searchability) in the Web client, in two different browsers on two different computers. All which is to suggest that I hope @randomkoala180's experience will improve as well.
  9. I'm also seeing something strange with tags in the Web client. Just out of curiosity, I tried to create a new tag there. When I clicked the Tags item in the left sidebar, the proper list of tags appeared below it, but the slide-out menu showed no tags at all and it both (A) offered me the opportunity to "create my first tag" and (B) when I clicked the new tag icon at the top of the slide-out showed the message "The tag limit has been reached." But in the sidebar, both the + button next to the word "Tags" and the green "New tag" item at the end of the tag list were available. Trying to create a new tag with either of them led to a couple of minutes of a spinning green circle, and then nothing. The tag I tried to create there also did not show up in the Windows desktop app, even after I forced a reload. I was able to create a new tag and add it to several notes in the desktop app, and this tagging did show up in the Web client, as did removing the tag in the desktop app. So something is currently borked with tags in the Web client for me as well. (Both the Web and desktop clients are the latest release, v. 10.52.8.)
  10. Interesting question. Audio recording is a kind of generic way of entering info into Evernote, I think, meaning it does not have "professional" setting options. Likely the only way to specify a particular input device would be to select it as your default Windows audio input temporarily.
  11. Just checked this out on v. 10.52.8 of the Windows desktop app. With the list of notes for a particular tag open, I clipped a series of random Web pages and included that tag. It seemed a little slow to update at first, but the last couple of pages took maybe 15 seconds to show up in the list. 👌
  12. OK, my apologies, @Dave Edwards on your qualification to post regarding your service, which I repeat is a valuable one, I'm sure. With @gazumped, though, I wonder whether starting a thread just to do so is stretching things.
  13. @Dave Edwards, these self-promotional postings are getting beyond what the forums are for IMHO. "Do not use the forums to promote or sell your product, service, or business unless it is relevant to the forum thread, you are an Evernote Certified Consultant, or you have prior approval from Evernote staff" (https://discussion.evernote.com/guidelines/). I appreciate that new users might benefit from your tutorials (I've saved the one on backlinks), but unless indeed you are a Certified Consultant or have approval, starting a thread just to post a promotional link seems, with respect and IMHO, like going too far.
  14. I wouldn't mind a little more communication from EverSpoons, or NoteBenders, or whatever it's going to be called. But I have no experience myself in corporate mergers, and I'll accept the cooler-heads advice from @gazumped and others here. It's a bit of a Goldilocks situation. You know, "This porridge is too hot. This porridge is too cold." BendyNote's new owners communicate too little. Twitter's new owner ... 😣
  15. WRT to the last linked post -- are you saying that you still can't select more than 50 notes? I just checked in v. 10.52.8 Web client, and I can select up to 100.
  16. Hello, and welcome to the forums. These are user-to-user forums, and we are not able to offer this kind of technical assistance. You will need to go to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and start a support ticket. Even if you don't have a paid subscription, I believe you can click on My Account in the first drop-down menu, and then click "Unable to log in".
  17. No problem, well done actually. I'll just kill my post. Then you can kill your post. Then I'll kill this post. Then let's not talk about it further.
  18. Welcome to the forums. Generally speaking, it is best to read through a thread before posting. To hide the note list/preview panel, see the numerous suggestions in this earlier post:
  19. Glad it's fixed! WRT ColorNote, I don't sync it to the cloud so my notes reside on my phone only, which I take to be secure unless the phone is stolen, in which case I'd have way worse problems.
  20. Hi, @Adrien Chartier, and welcome to the forums. FYI, these are very public spaces, and it's probably safer not to post your email address or other personal info here.
  21. Hi, and welcome to the forums. These are primarily user-to-user, and not a reliable way of contacting Evernote directly with specific requests or complains. You can open a support ticket to address them directly: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. As for F11--why not? It works the same way in browsers. As noted previously, this seems to be a problem limited to Windows 11, and it may be that Microsoft has chosen to add something novel to the way new windows open in some recent update, so not necessarily anything "precious" on Evernote's part.
  22. This is a feature request forum; you can do a search and find one or two existing threads on this or similar problems in other forums. Take a look at them, and add your concerns there, plus there may be solutions already offered.
  23. For the official version of what @agsteele has so neatly summarized, see these Help articles: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005157 and https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005247.
  24. Welcome to the forums. If that's all you really want to do, then honestly Evernote may be more than you need. One of its chief virtues is its ability to sync so that your notes are available on multiple devices running different operating systems. Just to have to-do lists on your phone, there are all kinds of apps on Google Play. Many of them also want to sync your notes to cloud storage, but you don't have to if you don't want to. I like Color Note, which has decent to-do list facilities, and lets you color-code notes for various purposes.
  25. None of us here actually knows whether the software worked as intended. It would help if you answered the requests for more information about how many devices were involved. If the answer is >1, then Evernote may well have worked exactly as intended. "no part being made by Evernote to keep track of or keep their software functional": That is a very sweeping statement based on a single incident. Evernote puts out updates to its software on a frequent basis, precisely in order to keep it functional and help it function better. "their web interface goof'ed up": This happened in the Web client, not the desktop app? Then perhaps some hiccup in the browser is at fault (and again, how did the computer come to be on all night?). Why should Evernote work for free at all? They are not selling your usage data, searches, timeline, etc., like Google. They have no income but from paying users. "tornado of feelings": You asked a question, someone answered you factually, and you responded with outrage. An old saying about sowing the wind and reaping the whirlwind comes to mind....
