  1. My solution is to recover lost data from backups If you have no personal data backups, Evernote has a Note History backup Access to the data is a paid feature, but you can subscribe for a single month Documentation at https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313858-How-to-access-and-use-note-history
  2. Evernote has three types of note links Public browser Private browser Private in-app (classical) To obtain the private link; on my Mac I right click on a note and select Copy Note Link I can force the in-app link by pressing the option key
  3. Which platform/device? Evernote is a cloud application with notes sync'd to the server The master version of your notes can be viewed using the web platform (www.evernote.com)
  4. Thats more a PDF editor function. Look for an external app I can do reordering using the Preview app on my Mac
  5. When sharing a web page to Evernote, you are presented with a list of existing notebooks/tags for assignment. The request is for creating new tags; not a big issue for me since my notebook/tag lists are mostly static >>it is clear from the many posts above, a lot of us need this feature desperately. This request has 3 votes. Voting buttons are at the top left corner of the discussion >>So, is Evernote listening? I read a story about a child complaining his prayers weren't heard (a new puppy or something). The mother explained that God hears all prayers; but sometimes the answer is No.
  6. Also watch out for cats walking across the keyboard This may be beyond the scope of AHK; there's a field (contentClass) that can be toggled to set a note as read-only This is metadata, and requires a direct update of the database. I could script this on a Mac There's documentation at https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/read_only_notes.php Confession; There are no kids (or cats). It's me accidently editing my notes
  7. It's a Mac thing The tab is not a single note. It's a note list; a notebook or shortcut
  8. I also have this problem with obsolete tags My solution is to prefix the name (aaaaaa) with x (xaaaaaa). The names are still on the list, but they're sorted to the bottom
  9. I find it a good practice to encrypt my sensitive data. Regardless, do you have any evidence your data has been compromised. Evernote data is secured by an account password
  10. Confirmed; Looking at the html code (actually enml), the colour is stored. I can actually modify it with a text editor. <div><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 250, 165);-evernote-highlight:true;">Highlighted</span> Text</div>
  11. I don't know what's going on with your search index, but you can rebuild it hold down the option key, then select the Help menu >>And I can't even attach images here. My method is to have the image on my desktop, then drag into the note
  12. Which platform/Device? As noted in this discussion; Windows has a "Demand Sync" feature Macs maintain a full copy of the database Mobile platforms don't maintain a copy, but have an Offline feature for selected Notebooks
  13. Not sure of which post, this is mostly a user discussion forum My take on upgrades is to control upgrades to your device Review the upgrade post, and discussion; know the changes, and bugs discovered Don't upgrade if the version won't work for you. If you upgrade but encounter an unworkable issue, downgrade to an issue that works for you.
  14. Evernote can store start/stop entries (notes). The Create/Update timestamps provide the length of time; a tag to identify the job/project
  15. I'm using a Mac, but don't usually reference the tag hierarchy. When adding tags to a note, I start typing and a short list drops down For this reason, I prefix my tags; for example all vendor tags begin with ?Vndr-
  16. I'm looking at IOS HoursTracker but I'd want a PC/Mac version as well What features would be important to you? At the top of the list, I see Record time using timers, complete with support for Breaks and Pauses, including automatic breaks As to storing the data, that seems to be in Evernote's capabilities. I usually export to a spreadsheet for number crunching
  17. My understanding is that the Print Headers issue is a bug introduced in the 6.12 versions Evernote is aware of the issue and will be fixed in a future release >>all of the sudden I can not print a title to a note. I don't have an option. The immediate solution is to downgrade your installation to a previous version
  18. What would be your estimate for the amount of work required; hours, $? There is an existing 3rd party product available (Marxico) Evernote could integrate that service into their product. Its not a feature I use, or am willing to pay for ($16US yearly), but close to 400 users have indicated support
  19. Don't agree with being superior, but I do make use of note links; my notes are heavily cross-referenced And the note links can be a method of simulating the text collapse requested in this discussion (think Table of Contents)
