  1. Actually a few of the staff are much more active now than they've ever been, but replying to say "we're looking into this" just tends to generate more comments and demands for faster action. And there are a LOT of feature requests out there...
  2. When they get around to it. It took Evernote around 3 years of development to create a 'common editor' - code that could link into the OS-specific applications for MacOS / iOS / Android / Windows. That saves them developing the same feature again and again in different applications for each OS. Mac got their version late last year. More is due to happen...
  3. Hi. How are you resizing? By dragging the bottom right corner of the image? -That's not a 'resize' in that the image isn't affected, just the visible display of that image. Evernote, as has been complained of elsewhere, tends to expand an image to fit the screen space available, and depending on the devices you're using, a note may be viewed on several wildly different screen sizes in various operating systems... I can appreciate the convenience of being able to set up a note with all the images in a consistent layout. I do that in Word or MSPublisher and sometimes output to PDF for the display. With a huge number of variables to work through, I don;t think this would be an easy task for Evernote...
  4. Does everyone report the issue to support when it occurs? A growing number of support requests is a good way to put pressure on a company to fix an issue - and until the receive a volume of reports, they may even write off something they can't recreate in the tech lab as 'user error'. Plus lots of reports means they have lots of instances where they can maybe spot the cause of an issue.
  5. Hmmn. And look what I just found for the first time today... trends, anyone?
  6. Hi. This has been reported before - and I can confirm the issue is still present in the current beta. Clicking in the note list to select it and Ctrl+Home on the keyboard will jump to the top of the list, and if you have a 'placeholder' note there which has a left-panel shortcut, you can jump with a mouse click.
  7. Didn't mean to imply that Evernote 'expect' you to do manual workarounds - it's a fact that it isn't currently possible to add the backside copy, where it previously (apparently) was. While you wait for that situation to change (if it ever does) the manual workaround is one of the options available. Personally I always just shoot the 'other' side of the card, along with any relevant ticket / agenda / program information that might be connected, and add that note with the same title. No great manual work involved, just two separate scans. I'm unable to comment more because that's always been the case with Android, and the extra scan / maybe merge process is business as usual...
  8. Don't just take my word for it... https://blog.evernote.com/tech/2016/10/17/bringing-micro-services-to-the-client-side-project-ion-and-micro-components
  9. Since you were asking, rather than complaining about RTL's omission, I thought you weren't yet a user. As an existing user, what you see is all there is at present: the 'layout' tools being the toolbar across the top of a note window.
  10. As ever, if you're having problems with Clipper, try uninstalling/ reinstalling, and make sure you have the latest version for your browser. If you still have issues contact support directly if you can at https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new - or message them on Twitter via https://twitter.com/evernotehelps
  11. Hi. Reported by others, no word on a fix yet - meantime best option may be just to scan into a separate note with the same title as the business card to link the two together - and maybe merge the two notes later if preferred.
  12. Hi. There are a lot of requests for RTL support in the forums. Evernote is free to try, so you can experiment with the layout for yourself..
  13. Hmmn. I added this to various threads a few times already, so apologies if you've seen it - Long story short - the original Evernote apps were developed by independent teams with instructions to 'do the best you can with your platform'. Their designs were for basic editors without frills - little more than plain text plus any easy add-ins they could find within a deadline. Problem was each app editor was baked-in platform specific code so adding further options would have been a root-and-branch rewriting exercise in Android. And again for iOS. And Mac. And Windows. And Web. So they recoded the whole app for all OS's so that all editor modules were the same; a 'Common Editor' module with links into every OS-specific code. Now improvements are able to be added to all devices at more or less the same time without completely separate development teams repeating the same work at least 5 times. It took some years to develop the new code to be reasonably efficient on all platforms, and work it into updates released over a period - finishing the last at the end of 2016. Things have already gotten a little better. They say there's more to follow...
  14. Hi. This is a mainly user-supported forum, and I'm a user just like you. Atlas in Windows disappeared some time ago, and until recently only the mobile applications retained it - until the iOS update. I don't offhand know of any apps that can integrate with Evernote, and I'd imagine the number that could do so in multiple OS's would be rather small. Maybe someone else can suggest one.
  15. Well, if the notebook is shared to you, you can't add tags that don't already exist in the other account. Only the owner of that account can add new tags. If the tag already exists, then you should be able to add it. If you can't I'd suggest you contact support directly if you can at https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new - or message them on Twitter via https://twitter.com/evernotehelps Meantime you could add keywords to titles or content, or have a 'master' note in the notebook where you can suggest new tags to be added to the account.
  16. There's no such thing as 'offline mode' in Evernote. In Windows Evernote > Tools > Options > Sync you could disable all sync options and sync only manually, or (which I recommend) tick only 'sync changes on exit' and make sure you File > exit Evernote on completion of your day. Beware though that the sync will then presumably kick off the warning notice which you'll still have to deal with...
  17. I can think of several ways this could be done manually - by exporting a completed note to PDF and 'annotating' the PDF forinstance, or just creating a two-column table - one for the note, the other for comments. It's not otherwise currently possible. Don't know how relevant the idea is to the majority of users - guess we'll see in the voting...
  18. The question was only raised recently - Evernote rarely comment about what we can expect in future updates anyway...
  19. Thanks for the suggestion. You appear to have the location of the database wrong in your script. From most recent updates it is now in C:\Users\<USER>\Evernote\Databases Will this affect its operation?
  20. H. Evernote seemed pretty definite - " Presentation mode is no longer available in Evernote for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You can use AirPlay to mirror your screen, or you can use presentation mode in Evernote for Mac or Windows." It's not (usually) their way to explain decisions like that, so maybe they found it impractical on mobile devices or it gave the app too big a footprint. If a lot of folks click the counter on this topic they might revisit the idea, but it's unlikely to be soon...
  21. Hi. I think the number highlights are to do with auto dialling phone numbers. I have seen a suggestion somewhere for how to disable this, but I can't find it at present...
  22. Hi. Does it help to copy a 'blank' bullet layout from Word to a note as a template, then edit the template to insert extra lines as necessary?
  23. Hi. When you deleted files from your hard drive, could any of them have been Evernote-related? Normally when a notebook is deleted, the notes go into a Trash Notebook - do you have one of those? If you got around Evernote's normal deletion process by zapping one if its operating files, that might have sidestepped the Trash notebook and gone straight to removing the notes completely. The notebook removal would then have been synced to the web version which would also remove that content. You should contact support directly if you can, or message them on Twitter but I'm not sure how much help they can be. Do you have any system backups that would have included the previously deleted files?
