  1. Nope I had probems too. Have reported it - the 'up' clicker doesn't work, but the 'down' arrow does. I think one of the hamsters is having a holiday... Merry Christmas!
  2. I managed to vote here by hitting the 'down' button rather than 'up' (???) - Generally agree it would be nice to see Office content in the same way that we see PDF pages (one at a time in Windows) but I assume that it's in a pipeline somewhere - parity between operating systems is being aimed for. If it was an easy task it would probably have been done by now.
  3. "Reaching out" includes clicking the top left counter to indicate this is a much-abused and unwanted add-in. In fairness Evernote have been a little busy recently, fire-fighting... https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2016/12/19/evernotes-action-plan-privacy/
  4. Yeah, once you reply, your status is set to 'following' and the button shows you who else is there. If you don't reply you can still follow by clicking the same button.
  5. According to Evernote PayPal is a checkout option in all countries except : Belarus, Brazil, Chile, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Peru, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, and Ukraine. If you live outside these regions, and aren't able to see PayPal as a payment option, you can maybe make it appear - * go to Evernote Account Settings (web page) and view Account Summary * Next to Account Level select Manage Subscription * From the options shown, select Free * Now select the account level you need and PayPal should be an option...
  6. Top right of the thread, opposite the voting box. The circled icon says 'Follow' if you're not yet following it (if you follow me. Sorry.)
  7. Nope - we all think it's dumb. Hopefully when Evernote get through with the migration and the current spitstorm over privacy issues they'll take a look at this. Meantime every vote counts! (Top left of this page)
  8. That has been requested before, and there are some workarounds with tags and third-party apps, but I'll support it here - hope this thread score can be merged with anything else relevant...
  9. Apparently we may expect more news on the web client next year... https://blog.evernote.com/tech/2016/10/17/bringing-micro-services-to-the-client-side-project-ion-and-micro-components
  10. I've been a premium user for nearly 10 years, and the subject has come up (again, and again...) for all of that time. If you can embrace the non-subfolder environment, it's a good place to be. If you really need hierarchy it might be wise to look elsewhere... It seems highly unlikely Evernote will change anytime soon...
  11. Well, 14 according to the voting feature. Clicking the button is as good as a support ticket, and easier for non-paying users.
  12. Hi. There are at least two other threads on this - and I'll move this thread to a feedback area so all in favor can vote (top left of the window) to signify their frustration - the more votes, the more likely we'll get some action soon...
  13. Not disagreeing, but there are plenty of ways around it for the moment. Evernote are improving the editor and may be about to release better features - they just don't (usually) comment on stuff like this. Meantime votes at top left will make sure that if they didn't already include something on line spacing, it'll get added later...
  14. Er, yeah... and this forum software is nothing to do with Evernote (apart from hosting the forums).
  15. According to the Xmind site - (my emphasis) Save your map as an Evernote note and share it so as to collaborate with others on a project more conveniently. You can save your map to the most popular note-taking tool as a large image, outline text, or even the .xmind file itself. -which is exactly what I can do with Excel, Word, Freeplane (my favorite mind-mapper)... and any other third party software. What I'd like to see is the option of data entry via the kind of freeform connections map that Xmind and Freeplane et al. support, but with the nodes of information stored in Evernote notes. This would give a MohioMap* style display as an option, but also allow editing of individual nodes as simple notes. * MohioMap? Nope - that's a nice concept, but absolutely not mind mapping either. To give a short(ish) example: I can start off with the concepts "suck squeeze pop phooey" and go on to name pretty much all of the components of an internal combustion engine. Each one comes out of my monkey brain in random order - 'pop' is 'spark' and 'ignition' / 'phooey' is 'exhaust' and 'catalytic converter' but by drawing a spider diagram I can link each one to the relevant previous entry in a logical order. Each one prompts another. And I have a terrible memory. It's a great way to pull a coherent description out of your head about anything from historical events to taking a picture with a DSLR. And then when you have your individual nuggets of information about - let's say half frame sensors in DSLR, you could edit that individual note / node with new/ corrected information. The full map shows the connections between nuggets, the notes would go into more detail. Clicking between the two views would be the icing on the cake. I agree it's a 'nice to have' and any developer out there 'should' be able to put something together using Evernote as data storage and piggy-backing the graphic display. Maybe that's what Evernote are waiting for... (I like mind maps. Can you tell?)
  16. A quick search of the forums suggests there have been around 140 separate threads requesting this in various OS's at various times. Totally agree with you, some kind of mind-map extension would be great to have... hope Evernote can merge all these requests into one mega-thread!
  17. I'm also in Windows 10, and the cards I have saved show the email address as a link. If you right-click that link you'll see a pop-up option to copy it...
  18. Hi. It is possible to export a public link to a notebook; so colleagues will see your read-only notes in a web browser if you have created a specific public notebook for that client.
  19. Hi. The sort works in both directions - one click on Created Date sorts ascending, another click changes to descending. Same for titles and all the other sort options. Sorry: just saw the client involved here. This is how sort works on (Windows) desktops. YMMV!
  20. Hi. Why not use a new note instead of drawing a line across an increasingly long and unwieldy document, and link all the notes for one client/ project together with tags <myclient> and <project>. Then you can list all projects per client, and/ or all notes per project and create a ToC note that will take you to any single note. That feature already exists.
  21. Hi. As to alternatives, here's a lengthy discussion that also includes some exporting chat. ... And here are some options that came up in a web search.. https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-good-alternative-to-Evernote https://opensource.com/life/16/8/open-source-alternatives-evernote http://www.freelancerbundle.co/blog/top-five-alternatives-of-evernote/
  22. Hi. Marketing promotions do go out based on account status, but if you pay through iTunes I guess there's a delay between your upgrade and the information hitting the Evernote marketing database. A nice lady called @amanda_h seems to look after this sort of thing so maybe she'll be along shortly to answer this; meantime if you want to, you could contact support directly, or message them on Twitter
  23. I don't think it's ridiculous when you consider that Evernote made something which works pretty well across multiple OS's and the web - maybe some features just weren't that easy to build in the first time around...
