  1. Lots of support but no clicks. To make an impact here, please use the voting counter at the top left -
  2. Google Maps has a 'your places' feature which allows you to place and save markers on a map which can be shared with others. I believe it's also possible to link between a location and a note, so you could jump from the physical place to a property description and back. Haven't used it myself (yet) but I took a quick look at what was available and earmarked it for a future project...
  3. I gave up on tags - see here for more details:
  4. Hi. It's always useful to say what devices you're using when posting - sometimes features are available on one device that aren't available on another. We're a user-supported forum, though Evernote staff do drop in from time to time, but we don't know, and they don't (usually) say, anything about features and timescales. Keep an eye on new updates for your device(s) and you'll know if/ when this becomes available. You could also raise it as a feature request on the feedback page for your particular OS. Annotating a PDF is a bit more complicated than editing text in a note, so I don't know how practical it would be to allow inline annotation. I don't think it's something that a lot of users would require - but then again you could assess the support from a feedback page, which includes a voting option.
  5. It's a good idea (for all platforms) - just added my vote to double the total cast here so far...
  6. I sympathize with the problem, but let's not panic here. Evernote have thousands of user feature requests listed, and - judging by the other main threads on this forum - thousands of bugs to fix in a dozen different OS's on hundreds of different devices. They aren't short of cash, or intention, but they have to prioritize - hence the voting buttons on threads like this, which are meant to give some indication of what should be their next target. Despite the impassioned support above there's a total of 1 (one) click for this feature. If you'd like to see it get attention, make sure you click, get your friends and anyone else you can talk to to click, and drive that number up. As to whether you should stick with the existing situation with or without work-arounds - my best advice is: if you find a better a solution, then use it. Unless Evernote are close to releasing a fix for this as we type, coding, testing and releasing a new feature will have a timescale of months or years. It ain't going to happen anytime soon...
  7. Despite the impassioned arguments (and 25 contributors) there are still only 5 votes for this topic. Doesn't look like it's going to be worthwhile for Evernote to revisit the issue anytime soon...
  8. Hi. What's wrong with the idea of having one URL per note and creating new notes rather than adding more and more content into one note? Titles and tags will keep notes from one document or session all together. I've not seen Evernote 'randomly adding back' a URL to a note - if this does happen to you I'd strongly suggest that you raise a support ticket. It is, of course, already part of the package to permit users to list as many URLs as they require in a note.
  9. Hi. Bearing in mind that post is 5 years old now, your software may be a little different to mine. My SSM windows are here - click Options on the first window to open up the second one...
  10. Anyone seen or used one of these? iSafe drives allegedly "extend the memory space of small devices" (iOS9 and upwards / Android) Would it be possible to store the database on one of these? @Matt W. - has Evernote had a look as these things? Any thoughts?
  11. The good(ish) news is that Android 6.0 Marshmallow apparently allows users to 'adopt' SD card storage as internal storage to ease space issues. The bad news is that given the long list of comments and issues on this page - http://9to5google.com/2015/12/16/android-6-marhsmallow-tip-adopt-microsd-card-internal-storage/ - I wouldn't rush to try it with anything important. You need Android 6 a fast SD card and frequent backups. @Matt W. is still looking into this, so there's still hope...
  12. Hi. I reported your post to the Forum Admins who are EN Employees (the rest of us're just folks, around here) - they'll raise the ticket with Customer Service.
  13. Due respect I think this is a 'nice to have' feature, worth looking at when everything else is fixed. There are existing options and workarounds - why would Evernote invest effort in adding this? Although it is Editor-related, and they're already re-working the code for that, so it might be in the pipeline somewhere...
  14. Hi. If you feel strongly about an issue - Evernote brought in a new system at the start of 2016 - Feedback Counters. Start a new topic on the feedback pages, and you can get others to register their interest (or otherwise) in the issue. The more clicks the (presumably) more likely Evernote are to give that feature more weight in any development plans. If someone can create a new topic in one (or more) of the feedback forums where up voting exists and post the link(s) here, anyone who's interested can express their support in a meanigful way by clicking the counter. Windows https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/224-windows-desktop-product-feedback/ Mac https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/218-mac-product-feedback/ Web https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/234-web-beta-product-feedback/ General Feedback - that's coming we're told... (I would have moved your post to an appropriate forum, but you didn't mention your OS)
  15. It rather depends what you're keeping secure. Putting things in the cloud does not, we all seem to agree, give total security. You can pretty much bet that not telling anyone else your secret, and not writing it down anywhere, works pretty well most of the time. Anything else is a compromise.
  16. Hi. Not sure about your problems with sound files but I can happily record MP3's on a Samsung Note4 and attach them to my notes.. And I have collaborated on a document that three or more people were involved with - we used MS Word's document versioning systems on an attached file in a shared note. Evernote has converged a lot in recent years, though there's still a ways to go - OS developers keep on moving the goalposts with new versions of their own...
  17. This is the place to raise ideas and feedback - Evernote created the feedback pages so they could judge the interest in ideas raised, and prioritise the development necessary. With 150M very active users they're careful (although not always careful enough) to avoid making changes that don't benefit the majority of their users, hence the voting system at top left. If your proposal is popular it stands more chance of being adopted. I'm just saying that until it is available you may have to look at work-arounds - unless they already had this idea in development and are about to launch it on an unsuspecting world, it will be months or years before you see any changes from current suggestions...
  18. You could take a screenshot and use it as wallpaper, but that stops all of Evernote's functions from working. If you save your shopping list as one-note-per-item notes in a separate notebook you could scroll up and down the list of notes in the large widget, but that's it for current options. If Evernote (and everyone else) think this is a useful feature request, maybe someday... all you have for now though is workarounds!
  19. Hi. Have you looked at all the existing widgets? There's a 'list' option that will show you part of a note, and open to that specific note if you tap it.. or individual buttons that could open individual notes if you wish...
  20. @GrumpyMonkey - yup; modern version of the old (and slightly creepy) saying: "Two people can keep a secret - if one of them's dead" (Allegedly by a certain Mr M Twain). If you want something 100% secure, the cloud is not the way to go.
  21. Hope, I believe they say, springs eternal - which is just as well because that's also the way Evernote's development schedule seems to work sometimes... meantime there are lots of useful outliners around that will do a similar job - like Workflowy.
  22. Looks like the creation of tables is desktop and web only, but you could always set up a template note on a desktop and (presumably) copy it when using the mobile? [Not tested!]
  23. Hi. You seem to be talking about the autoformat process that creates lists and lines based on your typing. Some OS's now include an option to switch that off in Settings. If you are talking about keyboard shortcuts, have a look at some of the options here in Evernote's Help Center
