  1. Still working for me - no problems that I'm aware of...
  2. Hi. I don't think Evernote deletes your legacy notes automatically. Check C:\Users\<username>\Evernote. The files there all relate to the Legacy app. If you still have Legacy, delete the notebook from there. If you uninstalled Legacy already, just delete any remaining files.
  3. ? I think this counts as four years later, and I don't see the issue. Evernote can share notebooks or individual notes. A 'Stack' is a collection of notebooks - I use them for high-level splits like 'work' vs 'personal' collections. If you need to share a collection of notes, use a notebook. If you need to share a lot of collections, share more than one notebook... (Or use Evernote Business and share a Space) Tips for organizing notes, notebooks, and tags Share multiple notes and notebooks using spaces
  4. For information: us 'guys' are -mainly- other users. If you wish to raise something with Evernote direct please contact Support. Evernote content is not (visibly) encrypted by default, though it is protected when being synced to, or stored on, Evernote's servers*. The only way for a third party to 'happen' to see it would be for them to have access to your unlocked account. Nevertheless it's a really BAD idea to use Evernote for credentials of any sort. There are any number of password manager apps that will do this far better, with more management options and even more securely. I use Bitwarden. Although I do use Evernote encryption in a few cases, most of my protected content is in encrypted PDF files attached to notes. Evernote's encryption is very basic - it's not clear whether different passwords can be created, and editing longer notes is difficult. Long notes are in themselves also a bad idea - a single error can lose or corrupt pages of information. If information is saved in separate notes, a mistake will lose only one element - not the whole document. * If anyone else has access to the device you're using, your unencrypted notes in the Legacy database may be locally visible
  5. You could always try installing Evernote to see if it works... The clue to accuracy may be in the fact that one page is on an Evernote site, and the other is from Microsoft...
  6. I'd suggest you support the feature request above and contact Support (that's not us) to see what they say...
  7. Hi. I'm also using 6.25 with no immediate plans to upgrade. AFAIK the answers to your questions are: No No No Not exactly. The same primary database that exists on Evernote's servers will serve both old and new versions. If installed locally you would have two separate folders containing your notes, separately syncing with the server for updates. Pretty much the same as you remember - higher limits, and access to Support, Note History and note creation by email. (NB: Some v10 users might have more to add, so you might want to wait for more comments before deciding!)
  8. Hi. Did you reach out to Evernote Support? As I understand it v10 is working for a lot of users....
  9. Hi. Why? If you use a comma, you get two tags. No idea what happens if you use a semi-colon, but (apparently) it doesn't work...
  10. Hi. No clue - we're a (mainly) user-supported forum. You could contact support and ask them? V6.25 is what I'm still using since v10 lacks some features that I will need on a daily basis. It still works and syncs unless and until Evernote says it will not. The company are not supporting v6 though - if anything does go wrong with your setup, they'll tell you to update to v10 and go from there. If your current v10 replaced the previous version you had installed, you can use the 'Legacy' app which is designed to co-exist. V10 bugs and feature requests can be raised in those areas of the Forum - there are lots of reports and requests already, so vote for any that affect you, and add anything new that you will need in future... 11. Hi. Please delete your website URL or this post may be deleted as spam. And 'saving all user data and passwords' is not possible or advisable, and may not be legal under your local information laws. Evernote is for filing and finding personal or business notes, not detailed user record keeping.
  12. Hi. The new version 10 is ... not universally popular, so be sure you want to update! Go to Evernote.com and download the latest version from there. I'd suggest you check out the system requirements too - if you're running an earlier version of Windows, Version 10 might not be available for your PC.
  13. Yep, reported and confirmed already in another thread.
  14. I've seen the complaint several times - maybe folks regard this as a bug rather than a new feature, but a lot of votes (or contacts with Support) will stress that it is an important feature to get back...
  15. Yes, but we're not them. Please try Evernote support - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and use the 'continue as guest' option to report your issue. You can also contact https://twitter.com/evernotehelps for assistance. NB the reason you may not have had an email could be either: it's trapped in your spam filter somewhere; or that address is not recognised. Could you have used another address for this account? PS I recommend you blur out the details or delete the image - this is a public forum and the address could be harvested by spammers...
  16. Yeah - I work (mostly) paper-free, and I have trouble exceeding 1GB per month. Even when I digitized a small business library a while back I don't think it went above 2GB for a month or two. And - as noted above - the stored file is (AFAIK) a temp store of a search index and some notes-in-use which probably excludes as standard any notes that haven't been opened for a while. If you opt to retain it, then you'll get all notes for offline processing. Plus as long as you have an internet connection you can always close the app and reopen it or use web access for odd lookups. Version 10 is not the most popular app, but IMHO this isn't exactly one of its glaring faults. Better installation options may be possible in future - but lets get the app to fully usable first...please!
  17. You have perfectly valid points, and it's obviously your decision if/ when you decide to change. As I've said (many times now...) I'll worry about changing from Legacy when Evernote tell me that it won't work after a certain date - I'm sure we'll have reasonable notice, maybe even months' notice of that happening. Not defending any of the changes (heard today of another feature that "we haven't decided yet whether to include that in version 10" !!! - if it was in Legacy it's a no-brainer!!) but I would say that many changes into Windows 10 are compromises between bring all the apps together, and what is possible in the package they're using. These are bound to be more traumatic changes than ever before - but at least once a process is set up in v10, it should be consistent for the future. The whimsical changes that we've seen are (hopefully) a one-time deal!
  18. Hi. Short answer - maybe. I use encryption in Evernote Windows 6.25 and add my password hints in each note in plain language near to the encrypted section. I get an invitation to submit passwords for each encryption, and I use a different one from time to time, which seems to work. Your (Mac) mileage may be different...
  19. Hmmn. Just saw another post about search issues. Maybe there is a problem... reach out to Support to confirm!
  20. Probably the same here, but I do my note management alongside general use of the database. I see occasional duplicates / irrelevant reminders every day, and just delete as I go. If you're checking Legacy in List view, I think tapping the actual size column title should sort it in ascending or descending order.
  21. Hi - are all the instances identical? no punctuation / special characters / variations / handwritten / spaces in between the three words? There are limits on how many notes will come back in search hits so you get a quicker response. But if you have 150 notes containing sidebyside, you should (AFAIK) see 150 results.
  22. If you're running a business off of Evernote I can see why you'd be nervous, but as I've said several times already - I'm going to run the Legacy version until v10 shows up as workable (I'm an optimist - so sue me...) or until Evernote announce an end of life for the sync process. Knowing that they have 200M users, no reputable company could do that overnight - which I appreciate given recent events is not a guarantee, but still - I'd expect at least a 6 month warning along the lines of an end of year deadline. That's when I'll start working out what to do with my content. I suspect what's on Evernote will stay on Evernote - I have 50K notes stretching back longer than 12 years (I digitised some paper files) and managing the conversion of so much history into another database would be... frustrating. My notes will be safe in a Basic account and I'll have a local daily full backup (still using Backupery) if necessary. I can copy / export any working files I need into a new app - if and when I need them. Of course by that stage I might have found that Evernote is working at least reasonably well for me and all I'll need to outsource will be unsupported former services. @Stacey emailed recently that Ian Small agreed in one of his interviews this year that Evernote will continue Legacy for as long as necessary while 'power user' features are built back into the main application. All I can do is take life as it comes - so business as usual then - and deal with crises as best I can when - and if - they occur.
  23. Hi. I think it's only Basic users who would have a special need for this, and since that's a free app I don't think it's worth it to Evernote to fund the development of the extension. There's no more Evernote Email Clipper (AFAIK) for anyone. It will hurt subscribers less, because they can forward emails to their account directly - no clipper required. For the moment if you can install a desktop version, try the Legacy app - that should still add-in clipper for the desktop Outlook (close Outlook before you install) but whether the clips will then get through your company firewall and out to Evernote online I do not know. I use it with Outlook 2013 - whether it works on 2016 again - I don't know. 😒 Be aware that the locally stored database content in your account will be visible to your IT department (whether they admit it or not...) so avoid personal comments or information!
