  1. Good grief, no. Intermittent problems are harder to ferret out and fix, but most are fixable. Blaming “sketchy electronic devices” is well, wrong.
  2. I appreciate that you have reached out to forum users. My response can’t be measured by the options provided. It depends on specifically what is being compared. The “of a few months ago” timeframe is open to interpretation. Should we compare before RTE to say v10.59? If that is the comparison then I would have to strongly disagree. Before RTE, I didn’t have speed issues, rarely had conflicts, and never had data loss. Since then, I’ve had data loss, and even now, still daily have sync issues with the scratch pad. If that is the comparison, then it has been a step back for me. If the comparison is between 10.59 and the very latest version, then yes, there has been improvement. The team has done a good job fixing introduced bugs, smoothing out RTE and improving speed overall. So instead of voting and giving the wrong impression, I thought a longer explanation would be better. I feel the team is moving in the right direction but there have been missteps along the way. I’m interested in seeing what the next few months bring.
  3. While we are dreaming, let’s make the field title user definable 😀.
  4. This isn’t really an extreme idea, but if this field is used in the new sync structure, then I can see allowing users access to change this field would cause havoc and not be practical. I would be fine with a new user defined field as long as we are allowed to sort on this field. I usually sort by updated date and am always surprised at the notes that will float to the top along with expected ones. This certainly isn’t a big problem and is not on the top of my list of suggested improvements, but having a sortable field that sorts only on changes that are meaningful to me would be useful.
  5. One of the advantages of Evernote has been the flexibility it provides. Over the years I’ve enjoyed reading about how others have adapted it to meet their needs. Some of the user cases seemed extreme and may not have made much sense to me but I always appreciated how others used the tool. V10 was built from scratch and is not yet at the same level of flexibility and efficiency it once was. Personally, I would like to be able to manually change the updated date and also be able to select which metadata changes trigger the update date to automatically change. Recently, for a while there, just viewing a note was changing the updated date which wasn’t helpful at all. User ability to control what affects the updated date field would be must welcome, at least by me.
  6. Well, search on his name and you can see where he is active.
  7. Well, several of us here have thousands of notes and successfully use the Github solution for backup. Others are successfully using Backuppery. You can believe what you want, but it appears some folks just don't want any help ... so be it.
  8. Please see my response right above your last comment.
  9. You can use Backuppery or the free Github solution I use to automatically back up all notebooks.
  10. That is correct if you are selecting individual notes. Instead, select the "notebook." That will export the entire notebook and is not limited to 100. Right mouse button on the notebook name in the left-hand pane.
  11. I just use a shortcut to the specific note. It is not at the top of the notebook, but it is in the special shortcut section in the left-hand pane and you can reorder those if you want.
  12. Why? Evernote already has a very generous (I would even suggest too generous) free offering. You can contact Evernote through your phone app: Settings -> Support
  13. Again, IMO, no not really. There is some engagement, so I would suggest there is interest, but there has never been much active employee discourse here. I agree more would be nice but I wouldn’t read too much into the forum being what it always has been. That said, @Federico Simionato has been pretty good about jumping in on occasion and providing some updates and explanations on recent activity, which is a welcome change.
  14. The only thing notable about that is that it is consistent with prior Evernote behavior. This is a user forum and Evernote staff rarely engage here now or in the past.
  15. The message says that the account is inactive, not deleted, though I don’t know what is implied by inactive. To reach support on your iPhone: Settings -> Support -> Submit a support request. Hopefully they can get you sorted out.
  16. If they want to close out status to first level support “internally” that’s fine, but it should remain in some open state to the customer. Closing out a ticket to a customer when it is merely being passed to the next level support provides a false impression.
  17. I couldn’t agree more. The norm for me is to have defects closed without being notified, and the problem still exists. This approach sure doesn’t make sense to me.
  18. On the one hand I like the idea of inline tags. I’ve been trying Bear and it has them, but one thing I don’t like is that I can’t tell at a glance what tags the note has. If there is a way to view a tag summary for the note, I haven’t found it. If Evernote adds the ability to use inline tagging and still keeps the tag list in the header, that would be very useful.
  19. Well, if you don’t report bugs, they won’t get fixed. I had a lot of problems with 10.59 also. So bad in fact that I downgraded to 10.58 for a while. 10.60 has been a fix for me so they are making progress, but with you and others reporting problems they clearly aren’t there yet. If this is pretty consistent for you, it’s important for them to get your log files and other information to help them get this fixed for everyone, so thanks for taking the time to create a support ticket.
  20. Well that’s disappointing to hear. I’ve had no (knocking on a lot of wood) problems since updating to 10.60. I was hoping we were past that.
  21. I was already familiar with OneNote and not a fan of the UI but tried it again a few years back. The import cranked along for several hours giving me the illusion of progress and then at the very end I received a cryptic message that several hundred notes were not imported. No reason why or any indication which ones. I didn’t have the time or desire to dig into it further.
  22. Same here. Though at least I’m not experiencing data loss. I get to pick the version I want to keep and just move on. I think RTE still has a few issues to iron out.
  23. That table reflects the new increased pricing. ... and I see your point now. I think the "offer" is an error and best to confirm with support. The only increase I'm aware of is shown in the table.
  24. You may find it difficult to believe, but those who post frequently, in general, use and like Evernote, want to see it improve, occasionally pick up tips from other users, and mostly are just trying to help out others. FWIW, the user you singled out is probably one of the more tolerant and empathetic posters here. You were way off the mark in singling him out.
