  1. A beta is a beta is a beta is ... Who is Running a beta should expect crashes. And who is running a beta of an OS together with a stable version of an app should know that if the app crashes, it is most likely due to the beta OS. So what is to fear ? Negative reviews by users that don’t know what they are doing ???
  2. My suggestion is to install it directly from the EN website. It is the same program, but when installed from the App Store it will run somewhat restricted. I had some problems initially, which were solved after uninstalling the App Store version and reinstalling from the website. Make sure you have fully synced before uninstall. If you have „local“ notebooks, see that you have an actual Time Machine Backup as well, because these notebooks will not sync to the server.
  3. As you can see, there are 2 entries (= accounts) inside of the Evernote-folder on your disk. Probably the first one xx566, with the smaller number, is the one containing your notes. The second one xx9933 is the one probably created by accident. You can check, if this is true the files and folders inside should show a recent date on which they were created. You just need to access the original one to get everything back as you had it before. If you did not save anything in the second one yet (the one you say is „empty“), you can delete it later. For now try to find out what are your real access credentials, and try to open your real account trough the EN app again. ****************** After and when this is resolved, think about using the EN cloud. Either by going PREMIUM in general, or at least by doing so for a month. One month will give you 10GB of upload allowance, which is pretty much in terms of EN data. If you have more, maybe you will need to buy additional time. There are many advantages with using the EN cloud. One of this is to have a second backup in a place where it is secure even when a fire would destroy your Mac AND your time machine target at the same time. A second one is to have a note history, which means you can always go back to an older version of a note that you changed. This is for using it a Premium feature, but the versioning will be created for BASIC users as well - just without giving access to it as long as you are on Basic settings.
  4. Most likely reason is that by accident (typo or something) you have created a completely new account. This will be empty ... ENEX is the EN backup format, so if you did not create one before because you wanted, you do not have it. But the data will still be there, on your Mac but as well on the EN server. So no need to create anything anew. And no need to go back through time machine (but good you have it up and running).
  5. If you wipe all cookies on close, this will most likely as well wipe out your account data. If there is an option to do this, put Evernote to a whitelist for not being wiped. Or stop wiping (which you probably do not want for other reasons), or live with always logging in. Now I've read your initial post again: What does "reset my PW" mean ? Create a new one every time you try to log in ?
  6. Maybe you should post more often ... In my case, the weird spotlight-thing did not occur for a long time. It came out of blue sky, I did not have my MBP unplugged or something before. And it appeared just once, not each time I started EN after. 7.11. got available shortly after, so I upgraded, and that is it. IMHO there is really no reason not to upgrade, it is running stable since.
  7. @MisterPetkus Sorry to hear that. There are some quite downgrading names for the MacPro, but I like the design. Plain black, simple and different. Maybe you want to add a cheese grater, gen.2 soon. At least it will have a better expandability, beside having all the power one may (ever) need.
  8. @x1010 Just tried it in dark mode on the MBPs Retina display. Maybe it lags a little more than in normal mode, but far from unworkable. This is more visible when text and pics are mixed, which creates more black area around the pics. But this is just a feeling of taking longer. CPU usage is just the same as before. So from my tests there must be another factor with your MBP that is not taking effect with mine.
  9. Knowing of a timeline "nice & short" just makes me think about more bugs 🐞 , many of them 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞. I prefer my software proofed and tested, even if it takes ⏳. Who wants to be ahead may sign into the beta program - at his own peril 🤕
  10. Yes, this is what I thought when I saw the identifier on my Mac/Safari. It looks like a) there is no general EN-download for web clipper itself, and b) the download is routed through the browser's App / Extensions Store. So either you get this sorted out with Chrome (sorry, will not install this browser just to find out), or place a support ticket on this.
  11. There is NO idea in Evernote to put a note in more than one notebook ! The organizational principle is that each note "belongs" to exactly one notebook. All other relations are created through tags. This avoids duplicates, which are typical for folder-type-structures found on many computers. Duplicates are possible as well, by copying notes and putting them in several notebooks. However it is better to avoid this. Once you start duplicating, the duplicates will start to differ, drifting apart. A workaround is a note containing a link to another note. For this, you create a note and put it into the notebook you want. Then you create a link in the target-note (via share), and paste it into the new note. You can place more than one link into that note, or even create a table of content build from links. By clicking on a link, you open the target note, and can modify it. No matter how many links lead to the target note, you will always work on the one original note.
  12. If you go to the Evernote.com website, you find under "functions" the subpage "Webclipper". There is a download option. However, it is linked to the browser. So I get a link related to Apple and Safari (have deleted the identifier, place of xxxxxx), when I try on my Mac with Safari: https://safari-extensions.apple.com/details/?id=com.evernote.safari.clipper-xxxxxxx Probably it is the same with Chrome. I am not using Chrome, so I can not check whether this is identical to your actual download site giving the problems.
  13. On which OS (Win, Mac, ...) are you when trying to download web clipper ? From where (website / URL) do you try to download it ? Which browser do you use to download ? Are you behind a Firewall, does your machine run any security software ?
  14. P.S. There are many other things you can and should do to „harden“ your Mac against attacks. Maybe search a little about this. There is stuff to read, but I found YouTube helpful in setting-up tips.
  15. EN depends on the OS to lock up. Good part of it is, as any other app you are working on, it will be right there after unlocking the Mac again. If your Mac is capable of Touch ID, it is no issue at all to unlock it often, so you can set the lock-timer pretty short. If you are concerned about your Macs security, there is another good (but not inexpensive) way to bump this up: Get an Apple Watch. You can set your Mac that it will unlock when the watch is near, and lock itself up automatically when it is moving away. At least it does on my MacBook Pro. Better check whether your Mac allows for it too before getting the new gadget 😉
  16. Yes, sure. Just go to the apps settings, passcode-lock should be right there. I put a screenshot here, all in German (sorry):
  17. Made the search as well. Not much syncing conflicts going on, as it seems. I use my account on several devices in parallel, and have not encountered the problem yet. To me it seems the syncing process of EN is very robust. Part of it is finding and flagging sync conflicts in an efficient way. If comparing the 2 notes is such a lot of work, and sync conflict is within of text, one can export both versions to a text editor that can run 2 versions against one another, and find differences (like MS Word can do). I think it is really better to find out why syncing went off, and eliminate these situations.
  18. Hard to say from far away. Is there any security mechanism in place that hinders the browser to remember you ? It should accept cookies, for example. Some security suits will block saving access as well, depending on the settings. When signing in, there should be (at the PW or at the 2FA-page) a little checkbox saying something like „remember me for the next 30 days“. The sign-in is only kept when this was checked. Do this only if the access is be safe from your side, as „it is my computer, only people I trust uses it“ and „the OS-user is secure (PW-protected etc.)“. For example, any computer at work is not safe for you because any admin can enter your account.
  19. @Y.K Good to know. I am using my iPad Pro a lot and wait for the new OS as well. Getting the desktop version of a website is however possible on the current iOS as well. Just enter the URL (like Evernote.com) and when the site has opened, press long on the circular arrow to the right of the URL. You get a little box asking you whether you want to open the desktop-site. Click it, and the desktop version of the site will open. With EN this means you will not be redirected to the iOS app, in its place the web client will open.
  20. @neowy If you go to the settings of your iOS app, choose notes, pickt the first option from the following submenu (extended options or something like this) and activate the last of the 5 positions on the next screen, you can insert tables on iOS as well: Write „ []“ which is one bracket like this [ followed by this ] for each column, then followed by an „x“ and a number, for the number of lines in the table. Example: [][][]x4 will create a table of 3 columns and 4 lines. If you then get a virtual keyboard with a „tab“ key, or have a physical one which most bluetooth and connector-pin keys have, you can add more lines to the table by clicking tab in the last cell of the existing table. Tab works as well to jump from cell to cell from the keyboard.
  21. Weird ... Have no chance to test, it is just me and my shiny MacBook Pro 😎 And as I’ve said above, I could not even reproduce the lagging there (will try it again tomorrow with dark mode). What OS and app version do you run on your MacPro ?
  22. This is not an issue with Face ID, and is is no bug. EN works like this on devices with touch ID as well. Once the device itself is unlocked, EN is open for use until the device is locked, or locks itself (timeout). For iOS apps, this is the standard behavior. I have few apps that expect an authorization every time I open or come back to them. These are banking apps, my password manager, authentication apps etc. I would not like to have Evernote restricted like this, because it is a work environment. Remember, there are many devices running iOS without Face ID. If you want to make access more restricted for your usecase, you can set a passcode in settings of the iOS EN app, and define that it is needed every time you (re-)open the app.
  23. If you are o.k. with clicking the box away, fine. If you look at it from the EN side, they will feel the problem was solved completely. No more support tickets popping up ... So if you want to get this resolved anytime in the future, you should think about placing a new support ticket, including the information that you are on 7.11., and it is still there. This forum is user driven and will not replace the support process.
