  1. We shouldn't mix up things here. If a text in a note is encrypted by a user, EN holds no key for that. EN holds the keys (each account has its own) for the notes stored. They need to, because services on the server like OCR, indexing and thumb nailing demand access to the content. EN clearly says that only their bots are allowed to access users data, no humans. This is as good as it gets - you always have to trust these statements. Now we have another layer on top of this, because GDPR requests any holder of data to thoroughly protect it. This means it is now a legal requirement to encrypt the notes - storing them open would be a clear GDPR violation. Talking about security: No hacker can enter an account, and encrypt it himself for ransom. The regular access to the server does not permit to execute code. That`s a difference to other storage services where a server is part of the package: If such a server is hijacked, the hacker can use it to execute his malware. In total I would say "Pretty secure". And then, as already posted, there are the local copies (usually protected by the OS encryption) and if wanted another backup data copy. The total setup fulfills the 3-2-1 rule for backups, and that's the holy grail of data protection. It doesn't get much better.
  2. Can you tell which update messed it up ? I am on the current version, and my offline package seems untangled.
  3. @Rtkepper Your second try - oh my ! Please avoid any career in sales or similar, it would be dreadful. Simple question, again: Why should I agree to pay for YOUR free account ? Because somebody needs to pay, it costs money to operate the servers and keep your data, and I have to adopt at least 10 Free users to keep these fellows going. You could be one of them, but you need to convince me ! No Free rides any more.
  4. There is a misunderstanding: I am not posting my posts from a few days ago again. What you post I don't care - read and execute, if you want a solution. Or ask support ...
  5. Make a notebook from them. Will be an extended action, because you can only select 100 at a time (didn't try, but that's what I expect ). Export the notebook as an ENEX file. Import the notebook into the Teams account. Hint: 11.000 notes can easily go beyond the 20GB upload limit. In this case you need to split the Import, becaiuse if the ENEX-file is larger than the upload limit, trying to import it will clog up the client and account, and it will not import the next time neither, because importing is not incremental. So keep the size of each ENEX file significantly below your accounts upload limit (10GB Personal, 20GB Professional and Teams). Split the notes to several Export/Import notebooks accordingly.
  6. There was an error introduced into the MATRIX 😱 But it was corrected - my web client shows 10.68.3, as my installed clients do 😮‍💨 OK, seriously: I think they probably had a mixup in their version management. Quite interesting, kudos to @janndk : Your Observation gives us an idea of how far they are ahead with coding, internal release and (maybe) testing.
  7. It is quite normal that notes holding content synced from other apps are "read only". If I remember it correctly, Penultimate notes were read only as well.
  8. See my post from December 27th, it tells anything anybody needs to know. And I won't repeat it just because it's demanding to read a little before posting the same stuff again.
  9. Collecting the payment for the official amount ? What about simply paying what is asked for, or cancel and leave for good if it is too much in relation to the value from the personal use case ?
  10. https://evernote.com/security This is the last comprehensive description I am aware about. BS is currently working on the back end. Being an Italian company, they are obliged to follow GDRP rules (European Data Protection Law). It is quite explicit about protecting users data, and it comes with heavy fines. BS has a lot of experience with sensitive personal data - they developed and operated the Italian COVID tracing app. So I expect even when they are moving the servers and improve the backend, data protection will stay on a very high level.
  11. EN is a company, not a charity. They had a generous free plan, in my opinion for far too long. As a subscriber this plan forced me to pay with my subscription money at least 10 Free users, beside my own service. I was never asked by EN or any of these 10 users if I am willing to donate part of my payments for this use. It was just taken off my payments, and in exchange I got less than what I could expect: Less dev hours, less features, longer support waiting, etc. Because my money was deviated for years. Now, @Rtkepper , as you posted your opinion here, now tell ME why I should go on to pay YOUR free ride ? Not the anonymous company, not Santa Claus. You are one of my 10 Free users, and I demand YOUR answer. You better have more convincing arguments now than in your first attempt.
  12. AFAIK when an email address has been used already, it can't be used a second time. I am not sure if there is a waiting period for unblocking old email addresses after a while, but in general you need a new address if the old one already was connected with an account.
  13. On trying I found some actions work better if the app (or the whole computer) is taken offline before starting an activity. This is true for most multi note actions. It seems the new client works them down sequentially, which means that after each note it makes a brief server contact. Taking it offline stops this, and usually speeds up the operation significantly. But make sure you have a fully synced local copy before doing so - else content will be missing, especially attachments. Then take the app / computer offline, and start the export by notebook.
  14. AFAIK current subscribers don't qualify.
  15. And then ? Engraving it in Stone, buried in the backyard ? Printed in rows of folders ? You have the cloud server master copy, plus a local copy on any desktop computer connected to your account, plus (if you decide to do so) another backup as ENEX files. Each copy is encrypted at rest (unless you decided not to encrypt your local drives, which is your responsibility), and all data traffic is encrypted as well. Couldn't be safer, because the complete content can be reproduced from every copy. But panic is so much better than a little bit of reasoning ?!
  16. @keribeal Sometimes I am happy that as an ignorant non native speaker I didn't get the message you wanted to transmit. However I am pretty sure it was not worth the effort to ask ChatGPT if it can make some sense out of it for me.
  17. And I‘m on a Mac - since October a 14“ MacBook Pro M2 Max. Couldn‘t be happier 😀
  18. No. You can only export notebooks from the installed client on Mac or Windows.
  19. It's 2024 but the Microsoft Team still hasn't solved the screenshot problem on Windows 11. So sad !
  20. Make sure you use the actual client: Account information, page 1: New web client selected Page 2: Checkmark at v10+ client is set.
  21. In fact this would probably be a good use case for tags, combined with saved searches or filters (if necessary several filters, for selecting some states at once).
  22. Hope I understand what you want, but can't reproduce it exactly. The navigation between 2 linked notes is possible by using the backlink feature. But to make the backlink show, there must be anything in the notes body field. Only a note title is not enough - but even typing a "Space" into the notes body make the backlink appear: Here I have inserted a link to the note "backlink test" in the note "TLS checking". Embedding a link into the TLS...-note will automatically create a backlink in the linked note. You see the backlink in my screenshot. When I click on the link in the TLS...-note, it takes me to the linked note, and to the notebook in which it is located. It will be marked in the notes list with a grey outline. Hitting the backlink will take me back to the note that holds the link. Maybe there is a glitch in this jump back: It opens the note in wide view, without the notes list. Hope I could help you somewhat.
  23. Legacy Windows never had tabs. This was a unique feature of legacy Mac. Like Import folders: These existed only for legacy Windows. With v10 now we got Import Folders on the Mac as well, so I would say the glass is „half full“.
