The tag icon pop-up no longer works. Nothing happens, despite a banner proclaiming the action was completed. It wasn't. After seeing the workaround posted by @justacat I can confirm the three dots menu does appear to complete the selected action for multiple notes, at least as far as modifying tags goes. That makes me hopeful this is a bug. Shared tags were pulled from all but Teams users without any proactive notification. They quietly went poof from notes that were shared with you. If you weren't using shared tags then I would imagine you probably didn't notice any change.

Plus the umpteen notebooks and spaces, regardless of whether or not they have the tag word in the title, and then all tags in what looks to be alphabetical order. Oh, and after scrolling through all of that to finally reach the tag I wanted and clicking on it, it brought up the entire Notes list. It opened the first note in the full list which, just to be clear, did NOT contain the tag (or the tag's text) specified in my search. Alternatively, typing tag:name in the search box and then hitting "enter" brought up the specific tagged notes I wanted. Using the first part of the tag and adding the * operator to capture wildcard results also worked with the "enter" method. The jump command served up relevant results, too, as long as I clicked on the "search for tag:name in Notes" option at the bottom of the first page.

PDF display size (within a note)
thefryhole replied to SDR2024's topic in Evernote General Discussions
The ability to resize PDF windows within a note would be handy. -
Why would an uninstall/reinstall resolve an issue that's widely reported across the forum? Internal links have been misbehaving for almost a month, with many different users describing issues that are related to either internal note links or shortcut links. Putting a subscriber through the time suck of uninstalling and reinstalling just seems mean when the issue they describe is unlikely related to their individual account and is rather a wider EN issue.

Shared tags were moved behind the Teams paywall a while back (looks like early reports of the unannounced change go back to July 2024). You and anyone you want to share tags with will all need Teams subscriptions.

Noted. I encountered similar trouble trying to use the beta "new linked note" feature and rashly assumed its failure was a part of the larger note link problem. But you're right, these could all represent distinct, unrelated bugs that weren't caught before the different releases. Another poster was gracious enough to compile a list of threads that might--or might not!--be relevant. This list was created several weeks ago so newer threads aren't included but perhaps there are useful workarounds for anyone who still thinks it's worth investigating.

None of the notes I tried were downloaded for offline use. It would be great if that solves the issue but I don't have any downloaded notes to test it on so I don't know. All of the notes I tried had been accessed within the past week on desktop.

Lots of discussions on this in several parts of the forum. Note links have been broken since at least early June and I've seen no news from EN on a fix. This thread has some additional links to workarounds that might help in the meantime. Not sure if any of them work with the web version.

I moved all notes that I knew I'd want to access on my phone out of EN back when the app kept wiping offline content, but I just tried a couple of notes with attachments and had the same experience -- spinning circles until I clicked to a different note and then returned. I still have some spinning circles in the desktop and web apps where content is gone forever. Hope the mobile issues aren't a signal that the data loss problems are back. No idea if the issue persists with notes that have been marked for download, but that might be something to try to see if it fixes it.

This issue has been around for a couple of weeks. Check here (Jun 4) and here (Jun 6) to see if there are any other details that might be helpful in finding a workaround, since that's all we're left with absent any meaningful engagement from support. I wonder if it's connected to the more general issue with links going to the wrong places, which existed a while ago and was fixed at one point but is now broken again. Mentioned here in its current appearance about a month ago when it reappeared and probably other places, too.

My experience has been similar. For a while the browser recognized me even after logging out of EN. Now it's requiring sign-in. The reason for the change is a mystery, which is typical of the EN user experience. The failure of the login process on the web as a step in opening the Win desktop app has also been happening for a while now. It seems to come and go. It was sending me through the login loop 2-3 times for several weeks but as of the last few days it's behaving normally. Nothing I did fixed the need to complete the login loop multiple times and I have no idea why it's working at the moment. Wish I could be of more help, but at least this may show it isn't something unique to your machine or your account. By the time you connect with support (if you decide to go that route) it might be back to the working phase. Good luck!

Repeated Creation of To-Do Lists
thefryhole replied to rb776655's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
You aren't alone. Other current threads reporting the same issue. -
It doesn't work properly from Word, either. Formatting is retained for line breaks (yay) but lost for bold, italics, and nearly everything else. Bullets seem to copy correctly but indentation for trailing lines is gone. Text color persists when pasting from Word but not from email. Forwarding emails to Evernote was hit or miss for me -- some arrived, some didn't, so I had to babysit each to be sure it came through -- but formatting and text color came through correctly when the process worked. That might be a workaround if you're willing to shepherd messages into EN.
