  2. Most (or maybe all?) tickets get stopped and closed by a robot. If you open one ticket, and then just wait and hope for the best, it's very unlikely you get a real response.
  3. Ah, the spinning circles. In my case, that content never reappeared, not on desktop and not on the web. Restoring previous versions of the note didn't bring the content back, either. Bye bye, whatever that image was supposed to be! I hope you weren't important!
  4. Well, Classic Evernote somehow handled any drag-n-drop I tried last 5+ years pretty well. Perhaps BS devs should dig that arcane knowledge from old source code (yes, that's sarcasm). And of course dragging to desktop and then to EN works. Whole point of drag-n-drop is to minimize operations, not to add some more clanky intermediate steps.

  6. I think you're right here. I think the old Evernote outsourced a lot of support and spoons have bought it in house closer to the development team. Going to take a while to get all the software and processes sorted but will be better in the long run.
  7. Thanks for that! Feedback sent. Yes, I'm mostly coming to v10 from Legacy. I tried v10 on and off since its release but don't really recall the UI. There were too many other issues that kept me on legacy instead. Bummer hearing the original v10 UI was actually better. Hopefully the developers listen to our feedback. Speaking as a developer, UI color stuff should be pretty easy unless their code is a disaster.
  8. @Boot17 I think you're missing a point here. Customer Support wasn't downsized - Bending Spoons had more active user thans Evernote (I think) and a big Head Office staff (including their own support teams) based in Italy. It made sound business sense to close down Evernote's US operations and merge everything into their main teams... until they worked out how much expertise they had lost, and then launched several big changes to the app which caused a huge reaction. Ending the free plan spree was also sound business - the freemium model attracted a number of users who were simply a continuing drain on resources. Converting to a limited trial doesn't reduce the number of support calls from new users. 'Spoons are almost certainly spending a lot of money now trying to improve staffing and systems to work their way out from under the backlog - but it's not a problem you can just throw money at. Staff take time to recruit and train, and given the complexity of the software and the wide variety of uses we put it through, they need to be pretty experienced to give 'proper' help. Meantime all the frustrated users are submitting ticket after ticket demanding answers to their specific issues and generally gumming up support admin with an additional inadvertent DOS attack. IMHO the easiest, safest and most positive way to use Evernote at the moment is: Have a backup - you'll never lose access to your notes Use work-arounds when you find the app doesn't quite do what you want Feed back your experiences to Evernote - keep the company informed about what works and what doesn't If you hit a road block, contact support. ONCE. With as much details as you can. Expect a wait. When they reply, read the email carefully and respond politely and appropriately. Post your issues in the Forums in case someone else has a solution Read the Forums and post suggestions and work-arounds where you can
  9. I've seen this before, control + r usually fixes it for me. Have you also tried looking at the note history?
  10. But who will fix the obsidian pecularities for your wife when you get hit by a bus? In our case, she still needs access to our paperless office... That's also the reason that I wrote my own "html4ever" converter ( complete conversion from ENEX to HTML)
  11. You could try these pages: https://dev.evernote.com/support/glossary.php https://dev.evernote.com
  12. Usually the Store version will update without Admin privileges.
  13. Guys, I agree with you all.. Evernote is simple... But this Obsidian just doesn't do it for me (see screenshot from the note) . I've been struggling since yesterday, the note is from September last year, when I was working on v.10 I come across this a few times a week... I'll probably never see that 2 attachments again... The simplicity just has to work, but it doesn't work for me anymore... And believe it or not, this is why my wife is bugging me, why she doesn't have the notes she made... anyway colleagues. so I'm going to set up Obsidian and keep it all under control remotely via Dropbox, as I open the exact same thing for myself and if there's a problem, I know I'll fix it... As long as I have access to everything.
  14. What app version are you using? I'm on Win 11 using the direct download, not the version from the Windows app-store and it doesn't ask for permissions.
  15. Finding and moving to Obsidian and finding it overall superior for my current needs, wants, and preferences... I agree with this take. Unfortunately (or perhaps, fortunately) I could never get my wife to join Evernote (even though I still maintain it would be awesome for her) and so that isn't holding me back.
  16. Are you just coming to v10 from legacy (like within the last 2 months)? I believe that v10 used to be a lot better in this regard --- prior to the UI-revamp that was done back in January/February. Anyway, I'm thinking the same thing as you about v10 now, but I also think that it used to be better.
  17. Yeah - that was me to. I've never even needed support before and so the lack of it hasn't been any different to me except that I worried a bit about what the impact would be to me if I ever was unable to access my notes (outside of the periodic backups/exports that I do). Bending Spoons must be saving millions of € on the reduced/restructured support staff. I'm just in the peanut gallery, but I'd guess that them reducing the size of their support staff and turning the free plan into more of a trial went hand-in-hand. Think of the (tens of) millions of free users that got account-level support for free. BS don't need to support those people as much because lots of them are leaving. I suspect they are hoping that the drop-off of non-paying customers will help them get on top of support issues for those that are paying. This is also maybe a hot take here, but for non-account level types of support (log in, billing, etc), I wonder if 90% of that non-account level support needs are taken up by 2% of the user base... and they wouldn't mind if that 2% gets fed up with lack of support and leaves.
  18. This is mostly a user's forum. If you want to make sure Evernote sees your comment please send it to feedback@evernote.com
  19. I think you are going to be a little more clear: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IA I don't understand this either. Whih three dots, where? Although search has some major problems, normal text searches and searches containing advanced search syntax seem to work fine for me.
  20. I was about to make a similar post. I agree 100% with the OP. The new UI, where everything blends into the same light or dark color, is hard to read and just poor design. It makes it hard to distinguish between different sections, reducing the overall clarity and usability. A good UI should have clear visual separation between functional areas, making navigation intuitive and efficient. The legacy version handled this well; v10 completely lacks it. It would be great if the developers could simply include some UI customization options.
  21. I use to WIN+SHIFT+F to find anything, sometimes adding [intitle:"whatever"]. Now, I am not able to find anything I was able to before updates. The IA shows always wrong results, then I press three dots options to show regular search results but the search words changes. Example I search for [intitle:Manual intitle:msi] and in the regular search box I find [Manual OR MSI] withouth the intitle and without the AND. If I change it, it wil start over the loop. Help please.
  22. Totally agree. Its a bastardisation of all sorts of bits of code from all over the place. Mind you the Obsidian developers are onto a good thing as other folk are building the functionality for them for free and they just sell sync services with a small team and less overheads. Maybe they're onto something 😁
  23. It is indeed a unique business model. And yet, somehow, we put up with it. For me, it's the path of least resistance -- migrating to a new app would just be too much onerous work. Just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll never actually NEED support, as I know I'm unlikely to get it...
  24. This discussion nicely illustrates why we stick to Evernote. Obsidian appears to be quite delicate and reliant on numerous plugins, customized / hacked to individual preferences. While I might personally choose this approach, it’s crucial that our notes remain accessible to my wife without requiring my assistance. She needs a straightforward and user-friendly tool, it's a little bit like linux vs mac-OS...
  25. This is a user community. Have you submitted a support request at all? The issue you describe is not something I've seen myself so there maybe something that needs resetting on the Evernote side. Support should help.
