  1. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
  2. My notes are organized with minimal "notebooks or folders" Evernote actually has no support for folders instead, organization is based on Tag Methodology, with two fields in the note record; Notebook and Tags
  3. As you reported, Evernote is protecting your account by stopping unauthorized access
  4. How do you feel about the new tasks feature? It's not supported in Evernote Legacy, but I've always used simple task notes and tags for task management; quite portable
  5. I didn't find "basically impossible", "unacceptable compromises" or "unfixable formatting bugs" but it must be realized that some metadata will be lost when migrating to a new platform (I converted to Devonthink, using the Evernote Legacy product, and without data from the new tasks feature)
  6. Would this apply if Evernote continues to be a separate US entity?
  7. Updated to ex-Evernote Legacy user >EN offers a free tier and perhaps feel that us paying customers are subsidizing it? That's my understanding of how it works, with the objective of converting to paying customers >but wonder how people might abuse the free tier Using the product with no intention of ever paying
  8. I left Evernote when they converted to the v10 product For me, it was a lost features issue I'm tolerant of price increases, but have always thought the "free" tier has been abused by many users imho New users should get full access for only a limited trial period
  9. Chile??? https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/investchile-announces-evernote-chose-chile-as-the-location-for-its-first-software-development-center-outside-the-us-300912791.html
  10. No, Devonthink provides both Mac and IOS client apps (Apple only) and data sync between devices I use the product on my Mac Mini and iPad >The main database AFAIK needs to be hosted on a Mac No, databases are independent and can be located on any device Either app/platform can be used independently. It's true that the Mac app is more full-featured than the IOS app
  11. Likewise, with Evernote Legacy on my Mac I have backups scheduled automatically via Applescript This included full and incremental backups
  12. >Data export options via web https://www.cloudhq.net/evernote
  13. No idea what the new owners are going to say, just as I have no idea what the previous owners say Did we even know or care who the previous owners were? I'm more interested in what Evernote's management team says. So far, I've only seen the blog post from Ian Small
  14. As a long term Evernote Legacy user; I can work with "note centric" Sometimes, I need to store a single file, for example a PDF; I can store it as a note attachment file Sometimes I need a document or a spreadsheet; I use an external editor, and again store it as a note attachment file My point is that I use an external editor when I need features beyond simple note editing I agree with @Dave-in-Decatur's comment, "What is minimal for some is superfluous to others."
  15. Rename is the process I use; prefix with an "x" I also use this to archive tags
  16. If nothing else, I create a journal/planner note each morning Every receipt I receive is scanned and stored as a note
  17. Also security concerns that you're giving Evernote access to the data so it can run the server side stuff; OCR, indexing, ...
  18. fwiw You can store original notebook name as a tag
  19. The equivalent structure in Evernote is Stacks/Notebooks; or Tags I'm a tagger
  20. Yes, an offline database copy is maintained. This is optional via a switch in preferences (Windows/Mac) or offline notebooks (IOS/Android)
  21. My naming standard is yyyy-mm-dd type [details] keywords keywords are a copy of the assigned tags Example: 2022-09-10 Receipt [Lunch] aVendor-TimHortons cBudget-FoodDining $4.95
  22. This was done using scripts I'm using Evernote Legacy on a Mac; scripting is supported via Applescript
  23. Confirmed; each note is assigned an id #, which matches the link url Unfortunately the id # is not included when a note is exported My solution was to append the id# to the note contents; this allowed me connect link urls with the correct note and make the required edits
