  1. The system requirements for v10 have been Win 10 or better since it was released. The software framework that has been used for Evernote v10 ceased to support Windows 8 and lower which is why Evernote v10 does not, now, run on Win 8.1. It isn't, in this case, that Evernote pulled the plug but that the Electron framework stopped supporting Win 8.1. As you have discovered there was an issue that persisted after last week's system outage which affected Legacy users in particular so you have everything back. But you are right to surmise that you should review your plans for the future. It seems unlikely that Legacy is going to be turned off suddenly but given that Legacy isn't supported you can expect that compatibility issues will continue to arise and that one day it will no longer work. If that is planned then there will be an announcement but unplanned things might catch us unawares.
  2. I have a simple batch file that I run in Windows on a schedule that empties the Import Folders. The same could be done with MacOS. That serves me perfectly well until the function returns.
  3. I don't doubt that you have an issue that needs to be addressed but I've never experienced what you describe. Neither do I experiance the slowness that others mention. Again, that is an issue that needs attention but it isn't universal.
  4. Nothing. The same result in the sort on Android. If it's an issue for you then you should open a support ticket.
  5. I think that may be the thread that was accidentally deleted by another user which had apologised for his/her error
  6. It has been very common for users to accidentally create new accounts which, of course, are empty. So double check you are logging into your original account. If you are certain that you are in your original account then you should raise a support ticket.
  7. I presume you kept the emergency codes that were provided when you registered for 2FA. Use one of those.
  8. I think it's gone. It's unfortunate but mistakes happen. Don't beat yourself up.
  9. There were reports earlier that issue causing sync and login issues for some users had been identified and a fix applied. Hope it continues to work...
  10. Before doing that I'd check the note in the web client. It is conceivable that the local version of the PDF only is damaged. Check that the PDF sync has happened. Assuming you are on a paid subscription you have the note history running and could open an early copy of the note which should contain the earlier PDF too.
  11. There's is no direct support Email. You have to submit a support request from the online support system. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true There was a system outage last week and some users have been experiencing sync and login issues since. I see a report that at least since of these issues have been resolved today. Check if things are back to normal and, if not, submit your support request.
  12. You can only have two devices registered to your account. Switching between three will breach the restrictions.
  13. If you cancel today it will take effect from the renewal date in the future. No data is lost. Any notes that exceed the Free data limits will in effect be locked. You will be able to view them but not edit them. If you have a larger note that you want to continue to edit then best to break it up into smaller chunks before you drop to Free. Or create a second version and place a link to the new empty note in your old large note before freedom day. Then you can link back and forth between the original note and the future material.
  14. What others have said, but in the meanwhile you can ask your credit card company for a chargeback.
  15. None of the options you propose. Well you may have an element of 3 but it is more complex. You'll need to think through whether there are 4, 5 or even 6 possibilities.
  16. I generally get support responses within four days. But good luck with your search.
  17. I usually have more than two operations running in Windows when Evernote is running. Sadly, I doubt that this is indicative of very much. You definitely have something conflicting on your device. If you haven't done so, a support ticket is likely to be the way forward.
  18. I use the GitHub project evernote-backup and have mine backed up automatically every week. Search for evernote-backup on the forums and you should find some links to installation and setup.
  19. It isn't clear which OS you are using. I'm going to guess at Windows and ask if you fully uninstalled Evernote using the free Revo Uninstaller program? A basic Windows uninstall often leaves fragments of programs behind. If you tried that unsuccessfully then my apologies for stepping up. Otherwise, you might like to give that a try.
  20. It might be worth noting that the Outlook Clipper that was available with the Legacy Evernote only worked with older versions of Outlook. The note recent Clipper required a more recent version of Outlook and, as I recall, a corporate setup. Either way the Outlook integrations are moribund. If you can get it working great but don't waste time trying to get it working if it fails.
  21. This doesn't appear to be universal. I have the widget on my device screen and it is in sync with the internal views inside the Evernote app. It may require that the app has a live connection for the widget to update. I don't believe these device screen widgets push content. So the app would have to have been updated for the device screen display to be up to date.
  22. I may be misunderstanding your hierarchy for tags but there is an ability to do this. This post may be helpful https://evernote.com/blog/how-to-use-tags-to-organize-evernote/
  23. All the data and information is stored on your machine. The only interaction with the external world is during the login to Evernote and then over the SSL link to the Evernote servers. That's what you do with the apps too. But it's only a suggestion. You'll do what send best for you. @gazumped had suggested the by-notebook export. This was always the archived way of exporting since the bulk method loses the notebook information.
