  1. I think @Dave-in-Decatur is spot on. Your screen shot looks like the Legacy version of Evernote. If you have v10 on your mobile device then this is an issue you are likely to face. Try to use the same version on all devices or be very careful to ensure that you use check boxes everywhere. The real challenge is that Evernote v10 will convert a list starting with checkboxes into a checklist.
  2. Haven't tried this myself but there are a number of issues copying from Word and pasting into Evernote. These are more extensive in Windows than Mac. This may be another. I don't think we can offer a direct solution other than doing what @gazumped suggests or just attaching the Word document to your note. You might open a support ticket. I don't think it will bring an immediate solution but it will remind the Evernote developers that the issue exists. Be sure to tell them about your operating system as well as the version of Evernote you are using.
  3. I was using the Web Clipper on Firefox yesterday. Worked fine. I did notice Of received an update. Perhaps the update had failed for you. Have you tried uninstalling the Clipper and starting from scratch?
  4. Please don't come back complaining that you are being urged to update every minute, hour etc 😜😉😊
  5. The force sync option in Android is in the settings menu. My experience is that sync while the Android Evernote app is in the background is inconsistent. I usually wait for a moment to be sure the note has synchronised. For me indicated by the green sync icon disappearing in the note list.
  6. There is, certainly, too much confusion in the language we use. 'Web clipper" = browser extension. "Screen capture " = link from the helper or Alt+Ctrl+S. Worth noting again that Windows 11 has broken Evernote Screen Capture. On Win 11 use the OS screen capture Win+Shift+S and paste into a note.
  7. Since Evernote 10 you need to create a shortcut in the Windows startup directory. This will start Evernote whenever you start your PC. It isn't, currently, an option to set in the program.
  8. Have you checked the shortcut list to check that your device is set to use Alt+Ctrl+V to paste to Evernote?
  9. My guess... You're on the Free plan so you can only use two devices. The web browser counts as a device, as does a desktop application and a mobile device. You can access your account settings and check how many devices you have shown as connected. You need to get it down to two and use only those two. You can only disconnect two devices per month. If you need to drop more than two devices then your choice is to pay for one month subscription to get access to drop more devices OR drop two at a time.
  10. 2 unsyncs per month. Ie you can remove two devices per month from your account on free. There other thing to recognise is that devices = Evernote applications.
  11. I think you are saying that you have an accessibility issue. Please contact Evernote support and advise your needs.
  12. The auto update roll out is notoriously slow. If you wait it can take two weeks to reach you. That's why many go ahead and download the installer. The roll out was, apparently, not paused. Just some back end stuff needed adjustment. The slow roll out means that, on this occasion, you'll have missed this little piece of excitement 😊
  13. I had a response from Evernote CEO @Ian Smallto my report. He says "We saw these reports coming in late Friday and were able to identify a problem in our cloud that impacted something specific to 10.42.7. We believe we fixed the cloud problem in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and are now monitoring through the weekend to make sure that our fix is working as it should. The cloud fix should cause the syncing problems in 10.42.7 related to attachments to resolve naturally (ie. without needing a new client release.)" I think I can say that the sync seems to have settled for me... 🙂
  14. I think you misunderstand me. I'm saying that Legacy will continue for as long as the OS continues to support it. Like you I've used an elderly accounts package - in my case Quicken. It ceased being supported. When Windows 8 arrived it also stopped working. The point is that Evernote will not maintain Legacy. It will keep going until something external changes - most likely an OS development. But, yes, other things could change which might break Legacy too. Server sync could also be the death of Legacy. So anyone depending on Legacy should make a plan for the future whenever the end comes. It may not be announced 🤪
  15. An update, having stuck with 10.42.7 I can see that some notes do sync but so far not comprehensively. For example I created a new note consisting of an attached PDF plus a task in the desktop. In the web browser I can see that the PDF synced as normal. The task appears in the note too but missing the date and time.
  16. You are correct but all you need to do is go the subsequent month - in your example January 2019. You will see 31 December is displayed but in grey. Even so, you can select that date which will update in the created date line. At least that's what works for me
  17. You can open a support ticket if you are a paying user. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Did you try to uninstall with Revo Uninstaller? You can also manually remove the left over files by deleting %AppData%\Evernote and %LocalAppData%\Programs\Evernote Then reinstall.
  18. You're speaking to fellow users here. So nothing we can do to stop Legacy. The most likely reason it will cease to work is that the operating system makes changes and Legacy doesn't comply with the new OS world. Then it will just stop. Overall, if you intend to keep using Evernote, you may want to take the pain of discovering new ways of working with v10. I transitioned in about three weeks and now can barely remember the Legacy ways of working. Of course YMMV.
  19. This morning I set off to report the issue and now have a ticket open. I went back to the web server and find that, overnight, some of my notes have caught up. Holding off reverting to see what transpires...
  20. The standard full installer always asks to stop Evernote running to continue the new installation. So your experience is broadly similar.
  21. I keep the old installers rather than wait for automated update. I suspect @Mike P does the same. There are websites that store old versions. Evernote picking this up quickly will depend on this affected reporting the problem. Those affected should open a support ticket. If they get enough they will probably suspend the roll out.
  22. It is still worth considering the fact that the web clipper runs inside the browser.
  23. If it was me I'd uninstall both versions using Revo Uninstaller. Then reinstall v10 first. After that the Legacy version. That should, I think, fix things.
