  1. And please feedback to Evernote / contact Support (who are not us) with details of your issues. If they don't know about them, they can't fix them... (and you'll be talking to Evernote direct, instead of other users like us...)
  2. Hmmn. Google Chrome is pushing business to Google Search huh... quelle surprise.
  3. If you're losing data somehow, please walk us through step-by-step exactly how this is happening? Or maybe video the process next time you're trying to use the app (assuming that you still do...). I'm a heavy user (Win 11 & EN 10.58.8) and this just isn't happening to me, or to a lot of the other contributors here - otherwise you'd be seeing a lot more posts. I can flag this thread so Evernote staff will take some notice, but like most things - if Evernote don't get feedback from users, they can't work out how and why things are (apparently) going missing. If anyone posting here has contacted Support, please post ticket numbers so we can make sure that they're tying the different reports together and realise that this is an issue.
  4. Hi. I had to go back to my copy of Legacy on an old Windows laptop to check, but there's no option to right-click and search that I can see... I can do that from Kindle, but best I can remember I've never done that from Evernote past or present. Given that it's trivial to copy and paste a word or a phrase into a web page to search, I don't imagine we'll see the option soon. So - no bug, just a possible misremember. As to hiding the option to ask a question... this is a Forum. It's kind've designed for people to ask questions and do a bit of ranting from time to time...
  5. Hi. On a Mac I think the fix is to click 'OK' and ignore the warning.
  6. ENEX files don't record notebook metadata, so export complete notebooks to separate ENEX files if you might restore them to Evernote at some time. Otherwise there's export to HTML or (I think) PDF, or certainly there's export or print for one/ many individual notes to PDF, plus saving attachments. The method depends on your note content and the intended future use of the exports.
  7. Hmmn - but why not add that task to the same note? All your tasks show up in Task view wherever they are, and when you click on that task you have the option to go directly to that note if you wish...
  8. These furrin' companies buyin' up our essential apps.... <mumbles to self in old person voice>
  9. Hi. As you may have already discovered, it's possible to paste a long plain internal URL into a task, but there's no current way (AFAICS) to turn that into a shorter link within Evernote. I looked at a link-shortener (Bit.ly) to see whether that might help, but it won't accept in-app links (the ones that start evernote://). You can convert a huge long web page link into something like http://bit.ly/3pxMXf4 - which will open in a browser. (That link is now inactive) Another option might be to create a table of contents note with any number of 'child' notes listed, and add your task to the ToC Don't know if there are any other suggestions out there... To help Evernote consider whether this feature request might be worthwhile, can you explain a little more about why you need to link to another note, instead of say just adding another task in that note or using the ToC idea? Create a table of contents
  10. Hmmn. I still have my templates in 10.58.8 (Windows) - maybe try rebuilding the local support files? File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select "Remove my Evernote data from this device" Click Sign out. Restart computer. Sign back in to Evernote (It takes a little time to rebuild the local information)
  11. Those of us with ancient hardware may have an issue - I have an old version of 'Manager because I run an S1500 which is over 12 years old. If I attempt to update to 'Home, I'm told I need to update 'Manager first - but my steam-powered scanner is no longer offered as an option. My support request to Fujitsu is in - I'll let you know what happens...
  12. Hmmn. Just for the record, I'm an Evernote subscriber, not an employee. Any perceived condescensions I make should not be ascribed to the company, they're purely my own. I would point out that you're still incorrect about the 50-note limit and it being difficult to migrate. Go to the notebooks tab, click the three dots menu on the right and you should have the option to export a notebook, regardless of the number of notes.
  13. Yeah - who needs all those warnings about falling rock, minefields, and slippy floors. Why don't these people mind their own business? - If you want to ignore the warning go right ahead; Evernote was just trying to help out...
  14. Hi. So again from the top... which version of MacOS, which (exact) version of Evernote, and how did an image get dragged with the zip file if that was the only thing you selected? Did the note contain any other information, or was this a new note into which you just dragged the one file?
  15. No. There were a few recent situations where I set up a note and had some text blink out after I typed it, but I put those down to work being done on sync. Since it was happening in front of my eyes it was easily correctable. I've had a few notes come up with icons where images or files used to be - but they're fixable with Note History. Absolute loss of notes that I created and now do not have - no. Having said which I keep an ongoing ENEX backup of my account 'just in case' - as a perceptive biking user pointed out... just like wearing a crash helmet; you never expect to need it, but it's better to have and not need a backup, then to need and not have. I'd strongly recommend that you contact Support with any issues if you can - something could be affecting a small number of users that they'll never know about unless they get told, and your logs might contain the clues they need.
  16. Hi. If you want to export all 517 notes, go to the 'notebook' tab on any desktop and click the three dots to the right of that notebook name. Choose 'export notebook'. To export fewer notes, create a new notebook from that same page and move or copy your notes into it. Then export or share from there.
  17. As I understand it, notes are kept on the server in a format that legacy can read easily. To be opened in v10 they need to be converted on demand to a different format. This should only happen once, but presumably editing the note again in Legacy means it needs converting again. AFIU (again) this had to be done this way 1) for backwards compatibility with legacy and 2) to avoid melting Evernote's servers - they are (or were 'till recently) the largest single holder of personal data in the world. That's a LOT of conversions in one go.
  18. Since this is a Windows issue, it's worth noting that lots of apps have various problems if a service from a previous attempt at loading the app is still running on the device. Task Manager will show you everything that is active, and the services can be sorted alphabetically. If you still see 'Evernote' in there when you know the app is not loaded, endtask it to death and try again.
  19. ?? They're giving a warning for those of us who don't use Macs - and presumably for those Mac users who don't have/ use iCloud. Seems fairly innocuous to me. If it doesn't apply, ignore it. If you're one of the hundreds of millions of users to whom it might apply, it could be helpful. I do agree they probably should have a 'don't show me this again' option on this, and all pop-ups.
  20. Don't know much about AHK - I tend to use Phrase Express mostly for the same sort of thing and interestingly I notice that they now offer some new AI text-handling features like "summarise this" and "rewrite more polite" or "rewrite more formal" via OpenAI. (Don't know what confidentiality applies.)
