  1. Please don't just tag onto another thread - you should start your own if this is a new query. And you should talk to Support since we're mainly all other users here.
  2. We're mainly other users here - contact or feedback to support if there are issues. Meantime you will be able to access most features via the web version.
  3. Hi. If you create a new note, click on the 'open gallery' button. It will advise that you need to upgrade to save templates. There are two work-arounds. Create a blank template note and store it in a 'templates' notebook. Duplicate or Copy it when you need it next, or Export that note to your desktop as an ENEX file. Double-clicking the file will give you a new note. Beware that each method of creating a template has slight differences in the eventual creation date, title and tags of a new note.
  4. Hi. It's always good to tell us what device / OS / Evernote version you're using so we can make more intelligent suggestions. The 'space' warning is about free space on your local storage, which -if the warning is correct - is about to become a problem for all your installed software. Systems need a minimum free area for temporary storage, downloads, web pages and the like; and too little starts to slow your system down. If you do a web search for your device and "how much free storage space do I need" you may be able to find some help. For support Contact https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new - if you have problems with that, use 'account' from the drop-down options as an issue type, sign in as 'guest' or use the help/ feedback link from any app. See also https://twitter.com/evernotehelps
  5. Hi. Evernote is currently warning users when they have minimal amounts of disk space left. since every system needs some temporary storage to be able to boot up and work. 60GB free doesn't sound much at all, but I understand that Macs have other ways to generate free space with iCloud so maybe that's not a contributing factor. You might want to check around any Mac support you have to find out whether you have an issue there. As to databases, no you can't 'compact' it, but you can opt not to store the database on your local hard drive when you sign out of the system, or use a symbolic link to trick Evernote into thinking your storage is on your main drive when it's saved elsewhere on the network. Evernote is actually releasing an alternative storage option 'soon' which might help. Meantime I have twice as many notes running on a grungy Windows desktop with no problems. Colleagues here might come up with more suggestions, but I'd recommend you contact Support on this too - they should be able to help speed things up. One thing you can do - when you have time and your system is stable again after moving everything around, sign out and remove your database from the device, then power your system off and on, and sign back in again to allow Evernote to rebuild the database and all its indexes. I did this recently and was back up and running within 30 minutes, but YMMV!
  6. unfortunately it's not that simple a transaction - in the conversion Evernote prioritised the features that most users were actively using and has been adding back individual features if and when it's cost-effective to do so. One user needing this access is not enough; the fact the feature used to exist and now does not, is not enough. It's Evernote's product, and while feature requests are welcomed, they're also a business and will add and drop features as they need to.
  7. Wow - I see your problem. I tend to organise mine into sub-folders; everything to do with photography is under tha heading, likewise with cars / banks / note-taking... I see your point that tagging links would do the same thing, but either way you would have a long slog going through 6,000 entries. Actually, now that I think about it - you should be able to export all your browser bookmarks to an HTML file. If you then open that file in your browser you could easily clip it to Evernote to get all your links in one note. They should show up in bulleted list format. You could search that list with Ctrl(Cmd)+F on a desktop to get to individual links, and copy or move links around to your hearts' desire. I'd suggest you do that over a long period though as and when you need specific links. Add new ones as and when they come up. You could then clear out your browser based links and rely on the note...
  8. Sorry to disappoint, but I agree. It's a big increase and if you don't think it worth it to stay you should absolutely cancel your subscription and use an alternative. I just got caught by the increase more or less on day one, so Evernote got a surprise pass on that; but unless things are very different in one year I'll be out of here. Giving credit where it's due - Evernote is usable - it's still my daily driver for nearly 62,000 notes. A bit like an old pickup truck, there's smoke, and juddering and occasional loud bangs, but it gets me where I need to go. Things have changed - though apart from calendars / tasks / real-time editing / AI editing / faster syncs / new settings / better print options / spreadsheet previews and conflict fixes, you may feel nothing much has happened The new owners do listen - syncing and RTE has been very much their focus recently, after complaints from users. I'm not much for AI, but again there have been heartfelt requests that it should be available. Gaz's Three Laws of Note-Taking(tm) (with apologies to that nice Mr Purple) are: If you need a feature - Use Feedback or talk to Support. (Don't just say "I want outlines" - explain why; if it's a good idea, it might actually happen.) If you have issues - talk to Support (They can't fix what they don't know about, and access to your activity logs may show them more clearly what's going wrong) if you remain unhappy - subscribe another app. Realistically the only time a big company reacts is when their losses start to exceed expectations. Impassioned complaints don't particularly help...
  9. ...And after freeing up space you appear to be just within the limit required for your system to operate at all. Support may be able to help you get back your missing files, and if you don't need to work offline you could either opt not to keep your database on your local hard drive at all, use the web version, or use a symlink as suggested to move the database elsewhere.
  10. Hi. Two suggestions - Contact Support about this - Evernote does read forum posts, but it will take time for them to get around to everything and they rarely comment; bringing it up direct means they see it sooner than later and you get some kind of reaction. Have you tried creating the PDF yourself in Adobe / MS / Libre Office and attaching it to your note? It's still visible inline and may be less affected by importing/ exporting from Evernote rather than printing.
  11. Was this using the previous Legacy app? Some things didn't translate across to the new version. There is a feature request forum here where you can post the suggestion, or you could simply use the feedback option in the mobile app.
  12. v10 has things like Tasks that don't show up correctly on Android, but I have a venerable Android phone running Legacy and a new Desktop running v10 and regularly use the phone for reference and input. What sort if information were you trying to share?
  13. After a year of silence on this, the signs are not good... can you explain in more detail how you would like to use presentation mode?
  14. Sorry - we're mainly other users here. If you can quote your ticket number here we can flag it for an Admin to take a look, but we do know Support are really busy at the moment.
  15. What Evernote version are you using? Have you tried signing out and back in?
  16. Don't know about anyone else, but while I do have page links in Evernote, it's not my bookmark manager. Any browser will do that for you, and many will sync the bookmarks you keep on one device to all the others on which you use the same browser.
  17. Hi. If this is the first major issue you had in 15 years, it hardly suggests that the system is unstable. You were geting warnings from whom and what exactly do they say? Evernote would never complain about the number or size of notes in your account - if you were able to sync them to the server in the first place, that space is now yours (AFAIK) forever. Removing notes from your account does nothing but reduce the amount of working space Evernote takes up on your local desktop drive. It's unrelated, but any warnings you may have seen about limited disk space were probably to do with the remaining free space on your hard drive possibly being insufficient to run the software safely. That's a fairly huge database reorganisation. Guessing that one or more of these devices were on and syncing regularly while the main reorganisation was going on. Each device compares what's on the server with its own local information, and if there's something more up to date available, that's downloaded. Cross-talk between these three devices and the server may have been what confused the issue. You seem to have walked into a 'perfect storm' situation where a major change had an unforseen effect. I'd strongly recommend that you contact Evernote Support for their assistance in stabilising your database and - maybe - recovering lost data. You might also check what free storage space remains on your laptop - unless it's something like 10% of the total size, it may not be enough. The forums here are mainly supported by other users like me, and we don't have server-side access to review what happened with your account or assist you properly. I hope Support can help resolve the situation. (And since you asked, the benefits of subscribing to Evernote include reserved server space and getting reasonably quick reactions to out of the usual situations like this, plus technical help when you need it. Other providers tend to be a little slower... )
  18. Android 10, which supports Evernote 10, came out 4 years ago... and the Play Store still offers the Legacy version for older Android users. Are you being nagged to update, or to become a subscriber?
  19. I think if others are having the same problem they would be posting here in support or agreement. If you're a subscriber you could contact Evernote Support (we're mainly just others users here..) to get some more feedback.
  20. If the emails weren't reaching Evernote it hardly sounds like an app issue - I routinely forward emails using Gmail's built-in forwarding rules, and (as mentioned) use Filterize to check incoming notes and tag / reassign as necessary.
  21. ...and this is your third post and you're just mentioning this now? Have you contacted Support abou the issue?
  22. Printscreens should be OK, subject to the note size and upload limits that apply to your account...
  23. Just checked the web and got updated to 10.58.8 there. It's not a beta, it is the current production model being rolled out to millions of users over weeks. You can queue-jump the apps by downloading direct from Evernote.com. But you're right - you get a choice of 'light mode' or 'dark mode' on the web - not where to start. However there is a sneaky trick you can play with the web version. If you go to whatever page(s) you wish to see when Evernote starts up and copy the URL from that web page, then save that to your browser or desktop as a normal bookmark, you can open Evernote directly to that page (apart maybe for logging in) each time you need it. It's possible to create links to any Evernote page this way - provided you copy the entirety of the URL. Click in the address bar and make sure you select all the content before copying.
