Task Details (blank note)
gazumped replied to paulsharpe's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hi. My tasks in Windows don't have a three dots option. Can you provide a screenshot? -
Payments continue after cancellation
gazumped replied to Jan Beezley's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi. The Forums here are mainly user-supported, so we can't help much with passwords or payments and refunds apart from suggesting you contact Support. Both subscribers and non-subscribers can contact Support through https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true - use the issue type "Account" - or go via Settings in the mobile app. Support are busy right now, so it may take 10-14 days to get a tech response; but you'll have a ticket number which reserves a place in the queue. More here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/21400396397587 - And I didn't realise you posted twice or had paid through iTunes. Please contact them. -
Evernote exports dont reimport
gazumped replied to mitra's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 7.14 and under)
Bugs tend of affect most users. This one seems to be specific to you. I use ENEX without any issues (that I've been aware of) and my re-imported notes show up without problems. I'm also backing up my account (AFAIK) on a regular basis. I'd suggest contacting Support, although that involves a bit of a wait at present... -
You reported to the old bunch - there's new corporate team in town and I bet they're totally unaware of this particular glitch so along with the rest of Evernote's unreported shortcomings, it'll never get looked at... It may not make any difference, but report it again - someone will look at it eventually...

Note created for last one hour emptied completely
gazumped replied to idcrisis's topic in Web Client Issues
Hi. AFAIK Delphi has nothing to do with Evernote. As with @Dave-in-Decatur I get new notes opening within 0-1 seconds which seems as quick as anyone should expect. Your original post related to lost content in the web client, which is an issue that can apply to web-based apps kept open for a long time - you mentioned working for an hour on one note. Given that web connections are sometimes "temperamental", it may be best to work on such content 'offline' - i.e. in a different app like a word processor - to be copied and pasted into Evernote in one operation when completed. You were also suggesting in your post that you were using both the Legacy version and a Linux connection which are so very unsupported and out of date that I don't have a way to express how unlikely it is that Evernote would be able to assist you with any issues. We're mainly other users here in the Forums. If you wish to make any points to Evernote, please try the Support or Feedback contacts. -
Hi. There have been no recent outages that I'm aware of, so the simplest thing would be to uninstall the app from your phone, power it off and on again to clear any temporary storage, and re-download and install the latest app from your phone store. If you subscribe I suggest you also contact Support to get your place in the faults queue - we're mostly other users here in the Forums, so can't assist very far with things like passwords or payments.

Recurring Tasks
gazumped replied to Jan Verhoeven's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hi. Windows and EN versions? -
Hi. We're mostly just users here, and can no more authorise a refund than you can. You need to go to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true and use the issue type "Account" to generate a ticket.

Rolling out Mobile 10.58
gazumped replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Just for the record I updated to 10.58.1 today, and when the Home page opened I selected the notes icon and had a crash. Got it back and thought my decision with the previous version to download all my notes for offline access (nearly 63k notes) was probably a bad one, so went into Settings and opted out of all offline storage... and the app is now frozen. Will force quit / uninstall / restart and try again in a while, but its not looking good. Started off with a sign out / sign back in which - along with my not having offline notes again seemed solve everything. The app is now back up and working. Will -cautiously- go back to offline notes tomorrow... -
The only tech we know here (the Forums are mostly other users) is to uninstall the app, power the device off and on again and then reinstall. That makes sure minor corruptions didn't creep in on the last update, and clears any temporary storage it might be using. It may be worth trying... I was on 10.57, am updating to 10.58 today - I had set my database to download for offline access since I had sufficient storage; but that seems to set up some sort of conflict and keeps my version crashing too. I have another older device running Legacy which doesn't crash - but also doesn't sync that well. I can understand your frustration. I mainly work on desktop so can get around the mobiles issue. Your choices are basically: Be Patient - if you can... Contact Support - but there are rather long waits at the moment... Use another app - but then you have the learning curve and the possibility it's not as useful as Evernote. I do recommend 1 & 2 - as a former developer you'll know that 95% of the issue when fixing bugs is finding out where they are; the other 5% is fixing them without causing more problems! Maybe your activity logs will be the ones that help Evernote finally fix this... Edit:

How can I contact Evernote support?
gazumped replied to Wilburguy's topic in Evernote General Discussions
If it's now showing you as on the free app - did you make a mistake when logging in and get a new account? Can you see your previous notes? If not, log out and back in - use the Forgot Password link at Evernote.com if necessary... -
There is no 'status' - suggestions and requests made here get filtered through to Evernote - we're mainly other users here in the forums. Evernote will take the information and merge it with the feedback they get from all their other social channels, upcoming work schedules and ongoing R&D projects, and may put it somewhere on their roadmap for the future. The roadmap is not public information. Other than major upgrades like AI search Evernote doesn't generally pre-announce new features unless and until they're released.

It may help to get constructive replies if you quote the actual ticket numbers you are referring to. Remembering that Evernote has some hundreds of thousands of active users, you can imagine that Support is quite busy - and unfortunately scalability is hard: you need staff with both technical and product experience to deal with user issues. The Forums here are always available to flag tickets for Admins if and when necessary.

Evernote exports dont reimport
gazumped replied to mitra's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 7.14 and under)
Hmmn. ENEX is Evernote-specific XML, not not surprising that a standard viewer dislikes some content, although failing import into Evernote is a bit of a red flag - do exports fail too? Maybe try HTML or PDF rather than ENEX? If you can identify the note on which they fail it would be worth copying the content into a new note in case that's corrupted, or exporting the individual note to ENEX and importing a copy. Backups generally are possible with various third party options- https://github.com/vzhd1701/evernote-backup - free (requires some expertise) - Evernote user @mackid1993 has written some extra batch files to help - see this post in the User Forums for more - https://www.backupery.com/products/backupery-for-evernote/ - paid service, but well worth it if you have several notebooks. https://www.cloudhq.net/evernote - also paid. (Backupery and CloudHQ download directly from Evernote's server) If you'd like an in-app alternative please vote here... -
- Which I thought was quite appropriate, especially since I generalised it with "Users" in my comments. This is definitely a discussion forum and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether users or moderators... ...and "defend any stupid change"? IMHO we've not seen any stupid changes; only continuous and frequent corrections and improvements to the somewhat moribund package that Bending Spoons bought into. Constant heckling - or whatever you prefer to call it - isn't going to help anything.
