  1. I might be a little late to the spell check discussion party, but I just noticed F7 doesn't work at all, in spite of being mentioned in the help page as calling the spell checker. Yes, I am aware a different help page says the following: "There's no spell check feature built into Evernote for Windows. However, you can right-click a word to see spelling correction suggestions based on your operating system's capabilities." However, I was trying to see if I could disable automatic spell checking and just use F7 as needed. I guess something that obvious is not possible, huh.
  2. If you use a numbered list it can, if you don't mind the fact that numbered and bulleted lists are not very efficient in their use of space inside a table.
  3. A general rant has its place I suppose. But I will give you this, currently I am not sure which version is the "stable" version. The current version has a few bugs which run from slightly to very annoying, but the previous version had at least one nasty bug that is currently fixed (encryption corruption), so I'm sticking with the current one for the time being. If you find something that is truly better than Evernote, please let the rest of us know.
  4. Just for fun, I created a title with 911 characters, no error, then went over 1,000, still no error, then attempted to copy and paste it again (that's how I counted the characters), then the error appeared, and it truncated the title to 479 characters. So maybe 479 is the limit.
  5. I have never seen that error, but I suspect it is easily avoidable by simply allowing the first line of the body of the note to serve as the title, automatically. I only mess with the title when I want a short title.
  6. One place to write a summary for a note is the URL field (can be sorted as "sort Url"). It seems it is not searchable though, so not sure how useful that would be.
  7. I use the following AH scripts, so that shift left click and shift right click navigate back and forwards: ; 2 Evernote mouse cursor scripts #IfWinActive ahk_class ENMainFrame ~RButton & LButton:: KeyWait RButton, L Send !{Left} #IfWinActive return #IfWinActive ahk_class ENMainFrame ~LButton & RButton:: KeyWait LButton, L Send !{Right} #IfWinActive return
  8. You could try Start Unlocker, works for single files locked by the system, not for whole program installations.
  9. Which version are you using? Not seeing it in 6.21 GA. Maybe it depends on how text is organized? Just guessing since I cannot reproduce it.
  10. It seems ink cannot be combined with text or other edit elements, is that so? If so, it seems limited.
  11. I haven't seen that in either Win10 or WIn7, but I might have seen something like that in the past when my system was really slow, not recently though. Do you have the version from the Evernote site, or from the Windows Store? If the latter, maybe try the former and see if it makes any difference. There are slight differences between both versions, so who knows.
  12. 1000 tags seem like a lot, I suspect that maybe you would have fewer tags if you separate the words into their own tags as suggested above. For searching multiple tags together you can use saved searches. If you end up with too many searches, a table of searches note might prove useful. This idea has been discussed before, the following is just one example:
  13. Hmm, I haven't seen version 6.22 in beta yet, latest I am aware is 6.21.2.8716. It runs ok, some reported bugs.
  14. If by navigate you mean using a note link, have you tried creating a new note? I keep a link to an empty note with only a title, no problem.
  15. I don't know whether what you are reporting is exactly the same as what the op described, since his solution doesn't apply in my case, but it is the same as the following discussion. I opened a support ticked they told me they are working on it, they appear to see a connection between the different reports:
  16. Got it, like a text indexing system for every single note. Without an automatic script that could get cumbersome to maintain. I haven't thought that far ahead I guess.
  17. Links are treated as text for search purposes, at least in the Windows version, so I am not sure If I understood you correctly.
  18. When I feel the need to shorten titles in links at the top I often keep a phantom field of links at the bottom to preserve full titles (font size 8, in light gray).. On the first of 3 link bars on my main dashboard note I have 20 links in one line, too many to use with their full names.
  19. I believe that setting only works on the left panel, on the note's tag field it is beginning of word only.
  20. I ran Optimize Database & Fix Selected Notes with all notes selected. Had no effect on the reported behavior, but I did notice some unique behaviors: In one tag search, it neither followed the link, nor did it display any notes of the tag search,, the note list and note view were both empty. In another tag search, clicking on the same link showed a completely different note, not the linked one. From this I assumed either a corrupted note or a corrupted link, so I replaced both by recreating the note and link and deleting the old ones. Same results as above. Finally, I assumed the dashboard note maybe corrupted, so I pasted the link to a new note, added the same tags I tested above. Same result. This affects too many tags to assume they are all corrupted. 6:21.2 GA EDIT: Uninstalling and reinstalling the program had no effect on the behavior. Going back to 6.20 fixed the problem, returning to 6.21 brought it back. In contact with support about this. So far they have confirmed what I reported., said they are working on it.
  21. Hi, did you try it only once? I have found that under some circumstances with different notes it may also works correctly for me, but I have not been able to determine the difference between working and not working. Same EN version.
  22. I think what you are saying is that if you are looking at a list of notes tagged with #P1, and one of them has a link to a note that doesn't have that tag, the link is not followed, in other words, the filter should be disabled and just show all notes in the note list when following the link normally to the untagged note, instead it kinda bounces back, correct? If so, I noticed the same issue, it is recent, I reported it in the 6.21 beta, got no comments so far. It is simply not expected behavior, as far as I am concerned.
  23. They just fixed that issue in the most recent version, have you updated? As far as recovering it, if you don't have a back up, avoid syncing and duplicate the note on either the web version or your second device, it should still be there if you didn't sync yet. If that doesn't work, and it is important enough to you, upgrade to Premium for a month, then use note history to recover the note.
  24. I believe it means you are not connected to the cloud for some reason. In addition to the above link, you can check this one once in a while: https://status.evernote.com/
