  1. It seems you fall into the category who needs an excuse for everything. Oh, the quality is deteriorating, the UX isn’t nice any more, and support sucks. Why not simply accept that the Free model is at the end of it’s rope ? It’s a trial now, and you are „trying“ since 14 years. How you managed to lock up your account is anybody’s guess. I run some Free accounts in addition to the paid one, and never managed to achieve this. What support would have told you: Wait for 30 days, or pay for a month which unlocks the account immediately. Your choice - I would go for the subscription, and either set my device count straight, or run the export. What works and doesn’t count as a device is this: https://github.com/vzhd1701/evernote-backup
  2. Big surprise 😮 if you quote a posting twice …. In fact we would like to see the EN tool working. And why it resorts to Welsh in these cases. That’s why I asked if this happens on all type of devices (mobiles and desktop alike), because this would point at the server. Or only on a specific device, pointing at something local to that computer. Yet unanswered …
  3. Just stick to the advise on GitHub. Works on a Mac as it obviously does on Windows. Installing in Python is an unnecessary complication of a simple task.
  4. The system simply takes any change to a note (= write action to the database) and calls it an update. Which - surprise - is exactly what it is. What this thread is all about is to make a huge fuzz about this simple criteria: Make THIS write action an update, but not THAT, and make it a user definition to distinguish THIS and THAT. This is what I call bloating a software. It’s not for the sake of something - it’s just because old habits die hard, and some people want to continue to use the update time stamp for other purposes. My point is: Just accept it does what it says - to record when ANYTHING on that note was changed the last time. If you want a note to stand out, tag it or pin it.
  5. Tasks can only exist inside of a note. A task can never exist free floating without a note. Does this effect only happening on your Windows computer in the installed client ? Or on a mobile device (iOS / Android) or on the Web (EN in a browser) as well ?
  6. Personally I think the answer is somewhere hidden in your system settings, deep down. If you have several devices - does it transcribe to Welsh on all of them, or only (I assume) on your Windows PC ?
  7. As always the advise is not to try to use fields under system control for storing any information of value. What makes up a „relevant“ change remains anybody’s own preference. The system uses any change to update the field. You can use tags to get an independent hold on notes you think you will need again - or use the „pin to notebook“ recently added.
  8. No idea - but maybe it’s now limited to Professional and Teams, as part of the AI-component of the subscription plans. It is not available on Personal. You can try to find out via support.
  9. Personally I doubt it will be greatly enriched. PDF export is closely linked to printing, and both are pretty basic. BTW it’s probably the most useless of the export options. It only exports notes, but no attachments apart from certain picture formats.
  10. Loyalty ? Too aggressive ? Ultimatum ? You say yourself you want a simple note taking solution. You don’t tell (but its obvious) you don’t want to pay. Then pick a tool that’s up to your personal preferences checklist. That’s your own doing - nobody has to bend things (not only spoons) just to accommodate your erroneous choice. You got the message: EN is not made for you.
  11. Just checked on the iPad. How much of the title in the note list shows depends on the view settings. Playing with large and small view, plus the settings for pictures and text changes the appearance of the list. The option for Tags has no influence on how the title shows. The biggest effect (because it takes up competing space) has the picture toggle.
  12. They don't provide ticket numbers any more. If they provide an answer (after the automatic, canned response) is an interesting question. I have not received any, although I have been promised a reaction. There are a lot of transcription services, it's just the additional effort of upload, copy & paste. For audio I create myself I use the transcription in JustPressRecord.
  13. What would be so bad about it ? You see it transcribed wrong, you discard it. The audio is still there.
  14. Congrats 🎉 You are the only person on the planet who never makes any mistake. Thinking about it, sounds unbelievable 🤷🏼‍♂️
  15. Updates in itself are not the issue for me. I think that at least half of the updates could be avoided if update quality would be improved.
  16. "We" is who ? Forum users? EN staff ? Free users afraid it will soon be "zero devices" ? ... On the current release cycle, videos will be outdated before they launch.
  17. Usually you get a canned return email rather quick. Getting an answer from a human, tailored to your question is an entirely different story. I’m waiting for several tickets to be answered.
  18. EN notes open faster than I can measure … I see no relevant difference between AN and EN.
  19. @mrb186 No current EN client will work on a Win7 system. Win7 is deprecated software and should never be used on a system connected to the internet. Probably the Win10 laptop first needs to get all the Win10 updates it missed. And then at least the browser(s) should be updated as well. Come back after this is done - hopefully with success, or a new error message.
  20. No, not at all. Fast and snappy, even with older notes that were for sure not opened in the last years. Everything including attachments opened within seconds (1-2, no more). EN iOS 10.100.1, iOS 17.6.1.
  21. This is a way to extract content from an existing database. Since legacy and v10 use different databases, this is by definition old notes, for sure older than May 2024 when sync was disabled. There is no working client older than 10.60 (or maybe later, the data structure is permanently updated as well). It is especially not possible to use such a client to update the cloud data, or to sync between devices.
  22. @hartman_md I start to ask myself why you insist to continue your double posted thread. In the other thread you receive a clear answer right away. Here you were reminded that double posting of the same content in different threads should be avoided. When citing older answers it is worth to check the time stamp of their posting. Those you are referring to are from 2021. They worked back then. They don’t work today. The turning point was May 2024, when the programs necessary to convert the old data structures were disabled, and the server interface shut down. Since then the answer is a solid „No“.
  23. There is no iCal integration up to now. Only Google calendar and Outllok. Asa workaround you can sync the Apple calendar to Google, and then Goggle to EN.
