  1. Yep - that would be a problem to many, many people (including me). On the other hand the new pricing and streamlined internal organization will help to continue the service in future. Regarding support: I got a sign of life for 3 open ticket last Friday - OK, not the solution (looks like a triggered machine message). But someone decided to give this sign, so he/she believes in beeing able to answer in near future πŸ™.
  2. I remain with EN and there's not need to transfer data. I think the price is acceptable for a stable service over many years. Count your time to find a better solution and convert these hours and days to € or $. This money is saved with EN πŸ˜‰
  3. That's a sure sign of a corrupted local database because tags are stored not directly with the notes. And if only changed notes re-appear, it seems like an internal list of "recent changes" that's mis-interpreted in any way... I hate reinstalling any software to wipe problems the software causes itself - but Revo Uninstaller might help because it surely remove all EN fragments (including the local database).
  4. Since RTE many API users have problems. Filterize gave up (closed now). Make often shows "RTE room open" together with "RATE_LIMIT_REACHED". With IFTTT and Zapier I did only small tests - but with no problem so far. Maybe not tested enough πŸ˜‰. From my point of view EN should talk to API service providers because they offer things that are not available at EN directly. It may help to widen EN's user base...
  5. Does it follow any rule? Where to original notes come from (Import Folder, inbound eMails, ...)? Did you made special changes to the notes (tagging, moving around notebooks, ...)? How do you find the duplicates? (You're a long time user with thounds of notes, I guess πŸ˜‰)
  6. In Teams accounts the Author field should lead to the Author (team member) of a note... (if it is not coming from an inbound eMail). Because the rules are not defined clearly, I(we) did not use it... But the discusson around not implemented display and sorting capabilities is not limited to Authors. EN10 knows all the fields (Notebook, Tags, Reminder Time, Reminder Done Time, Author, ...) - but prevents the user at least from sorting them - or from seeing them at all in lists. 😑
  7. I presume, Win11 SnapLayout fails with Apps that run in browser engines Makes sense - same functionality as opening a note by following an internal link from inside EN. Another hint to search for a problem in Win11 SnapLayout. There's also no problem MaxTo ...
  8. Yep - but it needs really long (seconds!) to close the current window(s - along with all open note windows) and restart a new main window of the other account. Switching virtual desktops is simply a click that needs no time. All window positions are retained. ... is OK if you work in one account. You cannot have a ToC that contains destinations of different accounts. We have to GTD in each account seperately. We do not want to mix it up. But we want to switch on a click (Win-Arrow-Left and Win-Arrow-Right). On every desktop there has an EN app to run...
  9. There's no need to edit the field. I don't know exactly the rules EN follows to fill this field (didn't use it so far πŸ˜‰) but is seems that it contains descriptive eMail addresses coming from forwarded or simply collected eMails. Displaying this field in a list is simply a possibility to see where a note comes from. Sorting a list by this field enables you to group notes by senders... The field is editable so a user was able to use it as a "Author" property on this own... (maybe managed by API scenarios?) No. A tag has to be assigned first to be usable. And even if EN will be able to sort a list by tags, you cannot achieve what was possible with sorting by Author because you have many other tags that might disturb the list. 😀 Yep - at the end these people are a worthfull group of users who helped to get EN what it is. Now they're punched out with no reason by UI gimmicks and lost or forgotton functionality. 😞
  10. Please do not post identical text to different threads. You may go on here: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/150257-fourteen-top-features-are-now-available-for-all-users/?do=findComment&comment=719939
  11. This was (and is) an easy workaround to force images to be placed nicely in lines and|or colums along with some explaining text. If you place images within table cells, the image size is reduced to fit to the cell boundaries. But it was and is additional work to insert and size the tables... Legacy allowed to place images floating in text. That means that Images (and other attachments) could be placed on one line. See this example of a typical note of mine: To get this effect in EN10 you have to place the attachment and the image in a small 2-column table: This is a big disadvantage of EN10 for me because I've hundreds of notes with images and text side by side. If I open these in EN10, every attachment and every image gets an own line with dump white space around 😑 EN decided for any reason to disallow resizing images for all kinds. It works for .PNG but not for .JPEG (IIRC) 😀 Me too... EN uses HTML to display notes - so this is a real pain: HTML supports all kinds of image postprecessing in size and positioning absolute and relative to text...
  12. Nope - check... Extras -> Einstellungen -> Notizen -> Notizbreite -> (*) An Fenster anpassen
  13. Instead of MS' Snap Layout I use MaxTo since years (maxto.net). But I think they work in similar way (grab Keyboard and Mouse events before they reach an application, modify events to force the application to work like the user defined and send modified events to the application). Normally the application does not (and does not have to) know about that... Simply click on a note or Ctrl-Click? A simple Click opens the note in EN's main window - whereby it may re-arrange the main windows by displaying a note list (or not..). But the main window itself keeps alive within its box. A Ctrl-Click opens the note in a new EN note window - but in a free size and position and not within a defined snap box. This is because Windows has no chance to modifiy any events If you access EN10 from outside it opens the note in its main window (like from inside with simple Click). There is no option available to change this behaviour (like in Legacy πŸ˜‰)
  14. Works (and is not a discussion starter). But you have to have it in mind - not all functions of the one are available in the other world. It' possible to have even more than 2 account running in parallel if you start them in EN-APP, EN-Web(Edge) and EN-Web(Chrome), ... πŸ˜‰ But best solution would be to get two accounts running in in two EN-apps (as it was possible in Legacy...). I run two virtual desktops (private and business) and have one EN open on each desktop. Win-Arrow-Left and Win-Arrow-Right switches between the two environments within milliseconds...
  15. Yep - but not straight forward and somewhat irritating: Normally (in other applications) you have the possibility to either automatically check for updates and if checked, it works like EN does... im it is not checked, then nothing happens in the background (no traffic to download nearly 400 MB of a new version) OK, EN decided to automatically check by itself this is OK in times of delivering buggy version often πŸ˜‰ (with some need to fix failures soon) But why do we have a command Help -> Check for Updates? In my case this command always tells me that I'm up to date πŸ€” ... even if there is a new version available for direct download...
  16. Better to take the last "official" version from EN-Server: https://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe
  17. OK, retested: Now it works for me also (after several switches between accounts?) - on single notes. But not on notebooks. Here the command is not available.
  18. Would be nice - but not in this case ;-). AFAIK thumbnail images are part of note metadata (once processed, reused ever for speed). So they're retained on environment changes. A new command to define a specific image to be used as a preview thumbnail has been a big with forever and will continue to be...
  19. Ah - OK - sorry. But why do they offer a command that does nothing (without a message)?
  20. Just checked within a Free account with 10.76.2: "Export as PDF" command is available on Right-Click-on-a-note. But it does simply nothing...
  21. Yep - search excludes the URL behind the links. But if you've transferred your notes to Notion, I'd try to search in Notion for strings like "evernote:///view/710611". Maybe it searches URL text and adresses?
  22. Moreover, release notes tell us the following: Improvements: The breadcrumbs now also include the title of a note Added alignment options for images within a note Fixes: Resolved a problem where stacks were not displayed in the Notebook list during searches Addressed a conflict issue in Scratchpad Fixed Tags sorting issues in the new UI But: My first tests figured out that note list cannot be sorted by tags (normal) note list cannot be sorted by Reminder Time (normal) note list seems to be sortable by title - but does not sort in all cases (haven't found a surely reproducable case or reason) (reminder) note list is sortable by Reminder times - but cannot show Reminder Done times if you are on the reminder not list tab and run a Favorite search, EN10-App hangs and has to be restartet... All these problems have been mentioned either here in forums or in support ticktes. It's a pity that they're not solved. But I'll wait for them patiently because I see that they are working not only on pricing and nice UI outfit gimmicks πŸ™.
  23. This is exactly what many of us let come to "that's easy - why don't they do it?": Internal links are made of <a name=...> and <a href=...> Collapsable sections are made by <details> <summary>...</summary>...</details> Probably they overestimate consequences? πŸ€”
  24. All systems that manage masses of data should use UUIDs to identify data fragments. Some dumb systems (like Notion πŸ˜‰) have their own system that isn't really unique across accounts. Some better system (like EN I guess) use 128 bit UUIDs like AE338CCF-BCF6-462A-A3B5-DCA5FB8A03FD. If EN would add note UUIDs to their ENEX files at least EN itself would benefit from it: During import it has to check whether a note with a given UUID is already present. If so (only possible after re-importing same notes often), the importer has to create a new one (like it does currently all the time). If the UUID is not present, it should be re-used. This makes it possible to re-use all internal note URLs because it is based on the UUIDs. If other systems do not use 128Bit UUIDs, they cannot import such enhanced ENEX files - not an EN problem πŸ˜‰
