I personally wasn't a big user of EN script but it was handy in order to add a saved search to the body of a note so you could double click it and run the saved search. This is useful in my "dashboard" notes that provide an overview for a particular topic and contain links to the most important resources such as notes, searches, websites etc. My workaround is to add the saved search as a search syntax string to a code box. I then just have to copy and paste it into the search bar which isn't too painful. It's a shame though that V10 doesn't automatically give you that string like legacy did, so you have to generate it manually even if it has been generated using simply text search and filters.

I'm still confused as to exactly what the issue is. For me the webclipper (Chrome extension) woks exactly as it always has. It is completely independent of V10 - it's a different app. Try using the webclipper directly from the icon in Chrome and also check the shortcuts. The default is ` (back tick) to start the webclipper. The V10 "capture screen" functionaility is very different from legacy. There are I believe examples of people getting the windows snipping tool instead but I expect that is a shortcut confict. Try usig it directly from the elephant icon in the task bar and see what happens. Unlike for the webclipper you cannot annotate screen shots directly during the creation process - I don't recall whrther you could in legacy.

Quick way to show the notes linking to the current note
Mike P replied to M31415926's question in General Feature Requests
I completely agree that this would be useful. My approach is simply to search for the title of the note. This works provided you have a reasonably specific title and haven't changed it since creating the link. Strangely, if you search for the actual internal link string nothing is found so EN does not search for the link behind text. I haven't tested to see whether this is also true of a url hidden behind text. I also note that there is a filter for notes containing URLs but not one for notes containing internal links which would seem to be an easy thing to do and again would be useful. -
I stated my lack of objection purely because some users assume that if somebody offers an alternative approach they are automatically against the proposal, are Evernote "Fanboys" and just want the status quo. The fact remains that the feature is not there. If it returns at all and in what timescale is uknown - EN do not release a development plan. Therefore you will need to find an alternative workflow or an alternative app - at least in the short term, possibly for ever. That's just how it is. It's unlikely that any of our needs are unique so the chances are that somebody in the community has a way of meeting the need in a different way. If it is vital that you hide the note panel then I would strongly suggest that you start planning for when legacy becomes unavailable (if it ever does - again unkown)

I have absolutely no objection to being able to switch off the note panel - I think it would be a useful feature although I personally never found the need for it in legacy. You don't say what note list view you are using. In side list view I can see 29 (yes 29) notes. I'm not sure that scanning a list of notes is the most efficient way of finding notes in the inbox (I assume this is a notebook) or without tags. Why not just go the inbox notebook. To find all notes without tags you can search: -tag:* (don't forget the -)

Sync issues on Windows client
Mike P replied to Claudio79's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Good to hear. My issue has never been with old notes. It's new notes created on the desktop, particularly containing attachments. Symptoms include missing thumbnails and text in the snippet view notes created on the desktop are then missing or currupted in the web version. I reverted to 10.41.4 and all is well. -
I agree. In my opinion you should be sort on any field that you can put in the side or top view. I know that alot of things that can be done by sorting can also be achieved using a more sophiticated search. But not all things. For example, it is impossible to do a search for notes containing just one specific tag (ie no other tags). That was achieved in legacy by searching for the tag, and then sorting by tags.

Reverted to 10.41.4 after removing data and uninstalling 10.42.7. All is now well. I get thumbnails and body text in the snippet and syncing works as expected. That's the first time I have ever had to revert to an older version. Just a word of caution to anybody doing the same thing. Make sure you export to enex any notes that have not correctly synced to the server (ie the web version) before you delete local data. I did a blanket export of all notes created when I was on 10.42.7 to be on the safe side. I can then reimport them from my hard disk.

Thanks @Boot17. This pretty much reflects my experience. Sync problems seem to be worse with notes with attachment. I also got some temporary relief from refreshing the database but it doesn't seem to have lasted. I'm going to revert to the previous version - this one has certainly been a train wreck for me.

Sync issues on Windows client
Mike P replied to Claudio79's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
What we don't yet know is whether it it is a general server issue affecting all versions or something specific with Windows 10.42. I have backed up everything created on my desktop in the last few days - some of which has arrived on the web version with attachments missing etc. I'm going to leave it until tomorrow and see if anything has changed - If not I will uninstall 10.42 and go back to 10.41 and see if that helps. -
Sync issues on Windows client
Mike P replied to Claudio79's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
I also seem to be having major problems with 10.42.7. Syncing and missing infor in the snippet view (reported eleswhere). Still trying things at the moment but may well revert to 10.41. -
If I create a new note all I can see in the snippet view is the note title, tags and the date. This is not effecting notes created in the previous version. Here is a direct comparison of two notes one created in 10.41 and one created in 10.42.7 Is this just me or can anybody else reproduce it? 10.42.7-win-ddl-public (3561) Editor: v154.0.18759 Service: v1.56.1 © 2019 - 2022 Evernote Corporation. Pictures need to go in notes. You can get a picture into a note by emailing (which is what you said you were doing), dropping it inoto the import folder or just copying and pasting into a new note. If you give the note a tag you can you can easily filter for that tag and then use one of the note list views to see them. Here's an example: Again a picture has to be in a note. Once you have put it in a note (see above) you can link to it (see my first post)

Evernote progress reports - how to disable monitoring?
Mike P replied to AndyOfLinux's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Apparently I have been super productive by arranging for July to have an extra day compared to June! -
I would personally create a tag for each car. Alternatively you could have a notebook for each car and a stack which collects together all your car notebooks. You can easily create a link to another note in a note. Go to the note you want to link and copy an internal link. (eg from the three dots menu in the note). You can then paste that link into the table.

Mike P replied to jray9242's question in Evernote Web Client Requests
This thread has been dead for 4 years because you can edit tables in the web client. What version of the web client are you using and what exactly are you trying to do to the table? Screen shot from web version 10.42.7 -

Automatic Note Titling ?
Mike P replied to AdmiralP's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
I'm not entirely sure I like the new behaviour. It might work well in the example given in the release notes where the first sentence of the note happens to be a sensible title. If it's a proper sentence you get the entire sentence upto some max number of characters. The saving grace is that the new title text is highlighted by default so you only have to press delete to get rid of it. -
Automatic Note Titling ?
Mike P replied to AdmiralP's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
Definitely not beta. The automatic update system is notoriously slow. You can download directly.
