  1. Hello, and welcome to the forums. Just to be clear, these are user-to-user forums, not Evernote support staff. That said, there have been other reports of slow syncing from Android (which may explain what happened), though in general the new syncing structure that enables real-time editing collaboration is making syncs much faster. (AI cleanup is not involved, since that is not always-on, but has to be invoked for particular notes by the user.) But that applies to individual notes (each of which has to be converted to the new structure when first opened). How it would relate to notebooks and stacks I don't know. Since you have a paid subscription, it might be worth contacting support (through the Support link in Settings on the Android app). You can attach an activity log to that, which might help them pin down the problem. But if it's a one-time sync issue, there may not be much they can do.

Also, search by tag and keyword is working in general, so if you could describe how it's failing in your case we (other users here, not Evernote support staff) might have some suggestions.
  3. @Mike Archuleta, the delay due to converting a note to the new sync structure only happens the first time it's opened. After that it should be as speedy as before. But of course searching and going through a lot of notes that date back to before May 2023 (when the new structure was implemented) is going to take that time for each note.   4. Hi, and welcome to the forums. I'm not seeing this myself. I wonder if the meetings are taking place in areas with poor Internet connectivity. That should just pop up a notice about unable to connect or sync temporarily paused or something, not crash it, though. It's possible that your Evernote database has become corrupted. The usual fix is to let Evernote delete the database by going to Settings and unchecking "Keep a copy on this device" (may not be the exact wording). Then quit Evernote (File > Quit, not just the X at top right of the window). That will delete the existing database. When you restart Evernote, it will download the DB again (which can take awhile to do completely), and you can check "Keep a copy" again. If that doesn't fix it, uninstalling Evernote entirely (people here recommend Revo uninstaller, not just the Windows tool) and reinstalling it might be the next step.

  6. Honestly, it's probably better not to further overload Support with this. See for instance the thread below. When loading a note for the first time since the new sync structure was implemented, it must first be converted to that structure, either on your computer for desktop apps or on Evernote's servers for Web and mobile clients (I think). This takes time (usually only a few seconds for me, but sometimes much longer), and overall their system seems strained by the process.
  7. Back to this ... there are other threads lately concerned with slow opening of notes. This can be partially due to notes needing to be converted (once only) to the new sync structure when they are opened. It shouldn't take minutes for every note though. I've seen seemingly blank notes in the Web and mobile clients which were simply taking a long time to load, but they did load; I don't recall seeing it on my Windows desktop app. The new structure seems to be straining resources to do this conversion, both on Evernote's servers and sometimes on our devices.   9. Please take time to read the replies from @PinkElephant and @agsteele. It's not a matter of "you could just let them have it." It could not be a passive procedure. Legacy also would have to be maintained, adapted to operating system updates, have bugs fixed, etc. (No question of adding new features, though, since new features seem to be what people using legacy want to avoid.) And all that would have to be done for several separate platforms (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Web, requiring many more programmers to keep it all current rather than months behind), and be done while v. 10 continues to be developed and improved (which many people do appreciate and want to see, hence the division you mention). "If they are willing to pay" ... but are "they" willing to pay? (How many people are using legacy on free accounts?) How much are they willing to pay to have all that done? If "they" are migrating to other systems (which will take at least as long for them to learn as Evernote 10, and lack at least as many features from legacy as v. 10), will they also resist necessary changes on the other systems when they inevitably come? I feel the sadness; I loved Evernote v. 6 and previous, and there may be one or two things I still miss about it. But I like a lot of what v. 10 can do that v. 6 could not, and the lightning-fast sync that has finally been introduced to v. 10 is the last nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

  11. Fine by me too, and you obviously know more about the underlying tech than I do. But even using Google Cloud servers, limitations must exist, and I would think that devoting processor muscle to this would at some point slow down syncing. At which point many (not you necessarily) of the same people who are here complaining about how slow notes open would be here complaining about slow syncing. I suspect there is a free-lunch mentality lurking somewhere. I also have to think that for notes opened on Web or mobile clients, the conversion must be happening on the servers as it is, since there is no local database to convert, and it would seem silly to sync an unconverted note and then run a conversion process on a phone. And what I have seen more than once on Web and mobile lately is a note taking so long to open that I got nervous looking at a blank screen. I almost lost my free lunch.
  12. Just on this point: I thought I didn't need it either, until the computer I was working on crashed in the middle of editing, and I could literally turn around to my other device and pick up editing right where I had left off while the crashed device rebooted (my post just above).

I don’t currently have an exact timeline for when this will be addressed, but please know this is a priority for us to resolve as soon as possible. Please keep an eye out for any updates and feel free to follow up with me if you continue to see this issue after the next few updates." Boilerplate, but at least it sounds like there's some urgency here.

  16. Welcome to the forums. There's already at least one thread going on this, take a look. Many of us (maybe all of us) are seeing this. So far the workaround is as advised above, use the Add Attachment button instead.

Another possibility is that you're experiencing the widely (universally, really) reported fact that notes now must be converted to the new RTE/sync structure, which usually adds a few seconds to each note's opening time. Please forgive me, but is it necessary to examine multiple notes? Won't a sophisticated search find what you're looking for?
  19. Another possibility (though less likely on 2 different browsers) is that you need to clear cookies (and maybe cache) for the past hour (or day). I don't see that as often as I used to, but it still happens.
  20. Yes, that could definitely have been communicated, since it must have been known--though I think some of the issues after the release of RTE did seem to catch them off guard. Evernote, both before and since the BenSpoo buyout, has a history of saying "OK, this is ready to go" without having adequate infrastructure to deal with the strains the release will cause. I too have had moments of great anxiety looking at a blank note, till it finally appeared. Even showing a message saying "Converting..." would be immensely helpful.
  21. I'm seeing this all the time in the Android app, but oddly not in the Windows or Web client. Latest from support on the ticket I submitted WRT the problem in Android: "Our development team is aware of this issue and hopes to have it resolved soon. This is standard boilerplate, but it does indicate that they are working on it with some urgency.
  22. RTE is the fix for the syncing issues. I myself thought RTE was super cool but not much use to me, since I work alone. Till last night. I was working at deadline on an important document in Evernote when I got a Blue Screen of Death. I realized (with a great rush of relief) that while the crashed computer rebooted, I could turn to my laptop and pick up exactly where I was when the BSOD happened. No loss of data, no loss of time, no loss of my train of thought. It was remarkable, and proved to me that even for a solo worker this is in fact a very useful feature. I've also seen some notes be very slow to appear, especially in the Web and Android clients (where there is no local notes database to be converted, so the note has to be converted on the Evernote servers before syncing to my device. "Convert all my notes at once" could work on a Windows or Mac machine with enough power not to bog down the system while it was being done. If this were to be done on Evernote's servers ("convert all our notes at once") I imagine it would take days and slow down syncing while it was happening. There's no free lunch to be had here, and it will require some patience, but after last night I am fine with waiting for a note to open, if that means I can pick up where I left off in the event of a crash, power outage, coffee on the keyboard, etc.
  23. I just experienced a serious benefit of the new RTE/sync structure. I was working away drafting an important document in the Evernote Web client on a Windows computer. Suddenly I was confronted with a Blue Screen of Death. My initial horror turned quickly to hope. While that computer rebooted, I turned around to a laptop on my other desk. There, in the Evernote Windows app, was exactly what I had just written, except for one word still waiting to be deleted (and which I may only have been on the point of deleting on the machine that crashed). I picked up right where I had left off, and finished the document with my thought process intact. An edge case, perhaps (but who among us has not had such things happen?--no Mac gloating @PinkElephant!). Nevertheless, I am profoundly grateful for this tool. Thank you, @Federico Simionato and Evernote team!
  24. Most reports I've seen here have been of duplication issues decreasing rather than increasing, so it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem. If you've deleted the database in this way repeatedly, it seems unlikely to me that it's getting re-corrupted every day (but I could be wrong). Your screen shot shows the scratch pad -- is that the main place where duplications occur? That might have to do with how you use it; AFAIK it's meant to be used and then either converted to a note or cleared, not to be maintained over time (as I've heard of folks doing). Another possibility is slips in Internet connection causing errors in sync, but I presume you and/or support have considered that already.
  25. Yes, it always seems very random to me too. Using it on a Windows machine, assuming a standard keyboard setup, invalidates my autocorrect hypothesis. Perhaps some glitch in the constant sync? Honestly, the only real answer you're likely to get on something like this is from Evernote support, whose technical people know what's going on under the hood: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. But that requires a paid subscription.
