  1. Ok, so login is the problem for you. EN should provide you the needed help. They probably just want you to use v10, since they don't provide support for v8 any more. I know someone not to long ago here on the forum had similar issue with legacy login and support solved the problem. I can login with Google button or with username/password + 2 factor authentication code with no issue.
  2. What do you two mean with "Doesn't work anymore." and "Android 11 does not support legacy." Where do you two have trouble? Installing, login, app not opening? I have v8.13.3 installed on my Pixel 6 Pro (Android 12) and it's working fine. Apk installation, login (via Google account) and opening app without a problem. I can see all my notes, create new notes or edit them.
  3. From Evernote Saved Search and Shortcuts Beta e-mail from end of the October.
  4. Well they are promising improvements of "general performance over the next few months". They are even saying this "you may not notice an improvement initially". I guess at least this way they confirmed to us that they are aware of the performance problems of v10. I recently changed my phone from Pixel 3 XL to Pixel 6 Pro. Evernote is now running noticeably faster. 3s to start the app (from force closed app) and notes are opening/loading faster. Not bad. I like it. I guess Evernote v10 is really resource hungry app. If the software is not good/optimized, then brute hardware power can solve the performance problems. But still Pixel 3 XL is only 3 years old and at the release it was a high end phone. So it is by no means a weak phone. And Evernote is not a game, it's a note taking app so performance on P3XL should be better than as it is at the moment.
  5. You skipped reading this part of the request sentence: "/restore lost space". I think it would not be to difficult to add greetings and date as and option to the home customization. They can make a widget.
  6. I fist got the "hide home page image" update on Windows machine. I immediately turned off the image. Then I got the same update on my android phone. I had to manually turn off image in the settings. So for me it was not automatic. I was thinking it was platform related. Funny thing is that even if I hide the home image in Windows, you can still scroll up to see... empty space. Why they didn't remove this if there is no picture to see? On Android it is a small space saving without the picture. Why is the note taking app taking precious mobile screen space with greeting message and date? Just show me my notes. Evernote support has some tough time to understand the user feedback. The whole point of feedback "Remove unnecessary photo background from home screen/restore lost space" was to save space. But they just removed the image and kept the rest. 😑
  7. Why complicate things? If you ask me they just have to add these three dots on the pdf (and other) files. That is it. This way users can still keep note editing protection while downloading is obvious and easy.
  8. It is weird. Install v8 and see for yourself. Only 2 clicks to download a pdf file. And all is in a logical place (not hidden).
  9. You can save PDF to the local storage. Open a note and go in the note editing mode (1x or 2x tap on the text, depends on the settings). When you see a checkmark in the upper left corner, this means you are in the note editing mode. Then tap on the pdf file and click on the download symbol.
  10. Exactly! My guess is that Evernote does not have a good Android dev team or they have a very limited resources for Android version of the app. I don't see any other explanation any more.
  11. This is what it's strange. They should fix it and offer others apps to open pdf files. Acrobat reader app is a half baked accidental exception. If you look closely below the Acrobat reader icon there is some text: "Share link vi...". So it is meant to share a pdf file over the Adobe cloud. Once the link is created you can swipe the window down and actually scroll, search, share, edit... pdf file. But I don't want to upload my pdf files to Adobe cloud! For me, this is just a temporary workaround solution. I want a proper solution to just open pdf files. That's it.
12. I think he was referring to no search option once the .pdf file is opened in the Evernote app: Symbol in the upper right corner opens window with saving/sharing options instead of opening with alternative app. So if I want to open the file with other app I first have to save the file on my phone and then open it. Unnecessary steps. This is what I get when I click on the symbol: And this is what I get once I save the file on my phone and want to open it: This is another issue for me on v10. I don't want Evernote to open my .PDF files because of limited functionality options. I want to choose my own app. The same issue was in previous versions of v10 regarding www link opening. At first links opened just inside the Evernote. Then they made changes to open a file with native internet browser. I hope they can do the same for PDF (and other files?).
  13. Saying thank you for something that was already part of the v8? This is just another proof, that v10 was pushed to soon. We were accustomed to v8 features and then they quicky pushed half baked v10 that was still not ready for stable/public release. Now they are slowly bringing v8 features back. I'm happy that this is the case, but it is taking too damn long. Bringing old features back should be No. 1 priority. Instead they are adding new things. Look at the feature request votes. There is a lot of old stuff that are the most requested one. People want features that were part of their Evernote v8 workflow.
  14. Took you more than 1 year to reimplement it in v10! Way to long in my opinion.
  15. V10.20 APK is available on apkmirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evernote-corporation/evernote/evernote-10-20-release/
  16. Ability to edit encrypted text was a feature on EN v8 for Android.
  17. In v10.20 it is now possible to edit encrypted text without permanently decrypting first! But still no option to start text encryption...
  18. In v10.20 it is now possible to edit encrypted text without permanently decrypting first! This is one thing that I was really missing in v10.
  19. V10.20 was just released. One of the fixed issues is this: "Fix for oversensitivity of ‘swipe to go back’ gesture" Maybe they solved thread issue now. EN v10.20 release notes:
  20. Funny thing... Today a "Technical Support Specialist" contacted me, but he didn't understood my problem, but first contact support person did. Technical support said it was a "image rendering issue". Clearly it is not. 😀 Anyway... here is more precise description of my problem: On Windows Evernote client (v10), when an image is set for "View Option: Attachment" and "View Option: Image", it's possible to view the image either way when you click/double click on the picture. In the case of "View Option: Image" the picture opens inside the Evernote Windows client. In the case of "View Option: Attachment", the picture is opened in the Windows default picture (.png, .jpeg) viewing program (so outside the Windows Evernote client). In any case, no matter in what "View Option" state is an image, the picture can be opened (I can view it!). Nonetheless, on my Android device (latest version - Evernote client v10.19 (1118424)), when an image is set for "View Option: Image", it's possible to see the image (I can click on it and it opens in full screen inside the Evernote Android app!), but if it's set as "View Option: Attachment", the image cannot be opened at all (I can not even view it!). The Evernote client does not open the picture file in the client or allow me to open it with my own 3rd party app that I have it installed on my Android phone. If I change "View Option" from "Attachment" to "Image" the file is there. I can click on it and I can open it inside the Evernote app (fullscreen). It's just opening of the image file, that is the problem. So... why is this a huge problem? Because if I want to include a photo inside my note and I don't want it to take a lot of note space I change an image to "View Option: Attachment". This way it take the least amount of space inside the note. So now if I want to actually see this photo on Android, first I have to change "View Option" to "Image" and then I can see what is on my photo. Then I have to change "View Option" to "Attachment" just to make note content more compact again. This is a bizarre issue. Here is also a video of the issue: https://photos.app.goo.gl/c68gDpmxpJRrZu619 Anyone else is having this same issue? @PinkElephant How is this solved on iOS? Does a picture open, when you have it inside a note as "View Option: Attachment"?
  21. Contacting support was not a problem. As you said they contact you back quite quickly. But support stated this: "I'm transferring this ticket to our technical support team who will continue to assist you." Technical support still did not contact me to at least confirm that they know about the image issue.
  22. Yes I did. I posted the problem here in the forum so that others can jump in with the issue (or am I the only one with this issue?) and because it's easier to explain here with pictures. I copied a link to the support team when I opened a support ticket. Waiting already 7 days to get in contact with "technical support team". 🙄
