  1. @s2sailor, maybe try putting the task in a different note? I suppose it could also be an issue with your default task note not importing correctly (assuming that's where you're test task is)... Vinnie
  2. Also, to expand on Pink's mention of "...your device specs...", if you are running with a minimum of memory, or a hard drive without a lot of free space, or a mechanical hard drive instead of SSD... all of these things can greatly impact your performance. If you have an older system, you might think hard about upgrading it. If you're a PC user, reasonably capable mini-systems that include Win 11 are out there for about $500, and I know from some of his past posts that @PinkElephant can suggest some Mac machines that are affordable too if you're interested in changing platforms. If you have a reasonably capable system, then definitely try Revo. Good luck, Vinnie
  3. I wonder, where can I request a new feature for this message board? Life has gotten a lot better since I started to use the Ignore User feature. (Basically, to win a spot on my ignore list, all someone has to do is level a personal attack on someone else - so the list has been growing a lot over the last few days!) But could we get an Ignore Posts Mourning Legacy function? Not that I would deny Legacy advocates the ability to mourn the loss of Legacy or vent about their perceived inadequacy of v10 -- but I myself think v10 is terrific and want to focus my attention there. Oh well, I guess for now I will just continue to add to my Ignore User list and move as fast as I can past all the "legacy was so great" posts. 😁 Vinnie
  4. About three microseconds. Or, in other words, basically the blink of an eye, on both my Win 11 desktop and laptop. I can't help but think there is something about your own system hardware that is not quite right, or your database is less than pristine. But it is very fast for me. Vinnie
  5. @janndk, I just checked and the image made it across to my desktop and Android device just fine. Vinnie
  6. I understand. I'm on my laptop right now. I'll check to see if it made it okay to my destop in a bit. That should verify that it is making it up to the server and back. Vinnie
  7. Works for me too. This is an image that I orginally generated by taking a screenshot. Not sure what you mean by "when closing the note, though. I pasted this into a new note in the three column notes view. When I click on a different note and then bac on the test note, the image is still there. So, there are several differences between what you are doing and what I am doing that could explain the different behaviour. Vinnie
  8. >>it takes somewhat tolerable 30-40 minutes for my 60Gb database. YOu may have a problem if you need to restore those notes because of the monthly upload limit. Vinnie
  9. FWIW, I use import folders a lot and generally don't have a problem. The one time I had an issue, I realized I had both my desktop and my laptop running Evernote. My import folder is a subfolder of my desktop which, on my new desktop, is part of Onedrive synch. I think what was happening was that Onedrive was mirroring the file from one computer to the other, and Evernote was seeing that as a new instance of the file, reimporting it. So, on the off chance that you've got more than one machine open with Onedrive, Dropbox, or similar tool running, you might try changing the import folder so that it doesn't get mirrored. (Hope this clear; I'm rushing because I'm about to run out the door!) Vinnie
  10. There's another thread about this here... I don't have a minute to look for it now but if you try a search on the forum here you might come up with it. Vinnie
  11. Funciona bien para mi. ¿Quizás reinstalar la conexión del calendario? Vinnie
  12. For future reference, it might be helpful to keep in mind that the web client is always available and gives you the most accurate view of your data on Evernote's systems. Vinnie
  13. Have you looked here? Compare plans and get started for free | Evernote Vinnie
  14. And lots of information here: Videos: Free Evernote Training by Stacey Harmon (harmonenterprises.com) Here (one of many videos): (1) Setting Up the Ultimate Evernote Home (feat. Vlad Campos) - YouTube Here: (1) Dave Edwards - YouTube and YouTube is your friend. Just be aware which version of Evernote any web materials are talking about. I'd suggest not bothering with anything before version 10. Vinnie
  15. I would take Federico up on his offer of some time ago asking for direct communication about data loss incidents and send him a direct message about your experience. Vinnie
  16. Huh! I'm surprised. Version 10.76.2 or later? Both my desktop and my laptop switched to the new UI when I upgraded to this version, which is why I thought everyone moving to the new version was being switched to the new UI. Last variable: you downloaded from the website, right? Not from the Windows or Apple store? The "store" versions sometimes don't work exactly the same way as the direct downloads from Evernote. I guess at this point, I would submit a support request and asked to be switched to the new UI. I believe Evernote can make this change on the server side so, even with the challenges that support continues to have, maybe they can make this change quickly. Vinnie
  17. Also, if you rely on the updater that is part of the Evernote app, you may not be on the latest version of the app The auto-updater goes in waves, I imagine so as not to break the Internet. But the latest version is always available using the download button on the Evernote website. Vinnie
  18. I know folks are frustrated about this. I wish it would work too. But it hasn't worked reliably for me in quite some time. Although email forwarding isn't quite the same and occasionally takes some futzing around to get everything into Evernote, is that inefficiency really worth the productivity loss of switching applications? Sorting through them all to figure out if they have the features you need? Then learning the platform and adjusting your workflows to its idiosyncrasies? Really? I'm doubtful. And if Evernote has 10% of the challenge working with Outlook that I have... it's not surprising that the tool has problems. And speaking of problems (although a bit off topic)... have you tried the "new" Outlook? Uffdah. But, sincerely, fellow Forum members, I wish you the best as you decide what to do. Vinnie
  19. I have a new workflow! Posters of ad hominem comments like this about Pink, Gazumped, or any of the other Level 5s here who spend so much time responding to questions (I don't know how you folks do it) earn an immediate free place in my rogue's gallery -- aka "ignore" list. I'm not under any illusion that it makes any difference to them... but it makes a big difference to me! Vinnie P.S. Here's a thought: maybe I should create a shared note called Rogue's Gallery with all of those user IDs (and the list is growing!) and make it available to forum members who are interested! Nah. I guess not.
  20. .. Or later this >week<! Not that I have any inside information. 🤪 Vinnie
  21. For the original poster, my experience with the Android client is that sometimes (not all the time) an update fails to respect my choice to make some folders available offline. It's probably a good habit to check periodically. I try to do so at the beginning of the month or before I know I may be offline and need some of the info. Vinnie
  22. I would add that Vlad Campos has a number of helpful videos, including one that is something like "getting started in Evernote in five minutes." May not be the title, but that's the gist, as I recall. Just do a YouTube search on his name and his channel will come right up. Also, it's useful to pay attention to how old any information you look at is. Evernote has been changing a lot and, while older resources are still likely to have a lot of relevance, some of the information in them is likely to be dated. And you want to look only at information about Evernote version 10. Evernote will end support of the "legacy" version of Evernote, version numbers less than 10, any day now. Vinnie
  23. I agree with you, @Jon/t. I work sometimes with a vendor who occasionally supplies equipment to one of my clients. The vendor has given me access to a wealth of support materials which they keep in Notion. It's very database-y, and as just a "normal" person, not that friendly to me. I find Evernote much simpler to use for a purpose like this -- so much so that I typically cut-and-paste their relevant info into Evernote. (non-proprietary info only, to comply with Evernote's Terms and Conditions!) Vinnie
