  1. I use Malwarebytes... for the first time a couple of versions ago, Malwarebytes flagged the install file. A version or two later, it no longer flagged the download file and all is back to normal. I'm not sure what this means for you other than to say that, for me, it was an issue which was short-lived and corrected itself. It also occurs to me to ask where you got the download from - directly from the Evernote website? That seems to be the best route rather than downloading from the Windows store. Vinnie
  2. @Uge2000, Your application of Evernote appears to me to be rather specialized. Since your business Evernote account is crucial to your income, and setting up an efficient system will have a big impact on your productivity, if I were you I would consider getting some professional help. You might think about hiring a Certified Evernote Expert to help you set up your system. An Expert would be able to take the time to really understand your needs, and help you design the best system to achieve your objectives. A number of experts regularly post here, not to single anyone out in particular, but @agsteele and @JonT are among the most frequent. They may be able to help you directly or refer you to another expert who might. As knowledgeable as Pink and other Level 5 posters are here, it's impossible to really understand your situation completely or give really tailored advice through exchanges on a message board, and it sounds like Evernote is a critical part of your business support system. This strikes me as a case where spending a bit now could save a lot of time and effort in the long run. Good luck, Vinnie
  3. That's my experience too, on three different, plain windows machines, none of them super-gamer platforms. Vinnie
  4. I think the workaround is simpler, at least in Windows... Use the 'save as" option to save the file to your desktop or wherever, and then right click the filename there and use the operating Window's "open with" feature to open the file. I myself would consider the change you are suggesting more of a feature request than a bug-fix request. Vinnie
  5. I think maybe @s2sailor intended his comment to be humorous? Might still be helpful to the OP, so that time to write the process may still be helpful to him/her or another reader... Vinnie
  6. "Anyone" is a pretty broad question! Are you? If you provide some more info about your issue and what Evernote client and version, along with the operating system and version you're using, someone might be able to help. Vinnie
  7. Re: the email header with forwarding by email... I imagine someone smarter than I can could figure out an autohotkey macro to delete it. That's not me. I spent about a hour once trying to figure it out using Textexpander before I decided that either TextExpander or I (or maybe both of us) weren't up to the job. So I went for another motorcycle ride instead. Like More unfortunate for me is the constantly growing length of email signatures. In the US, I think people talk to their lawyers too much. We now get paragraphs of "if this ain't you, don't read it," which I suspect is completely unenforceable anyway! Like @s2sailor and @Dave Green, sometimes I bother to delete all this stuff and sometimes not. Vinnie
  8. This probably won't help, but in case it does... I have the 3x2 "Action Bar" widget set up on my Pixel 6. It works fine. Yes, it takes a bit of screen real estate but, to my surprise, I find I use those other buttons quite a lot. Turns out that it is really handy for me. So, you might give it a try... you might be surprised by how helpful the additional functionality is. Vinnie
  9. CNTL-HOME -- that's a good tip! More shortcuts I should know, and probably knew once, but got overwritten in my limited-storage-capacity brain! Thanks, Jon. Vinnie
  10. Will this work in the meanwhile? If you click the three dots to the right of the "new note" button, a submenu drops down. You can click on attachment and import your note that way. Vinnie Screen shot:
  11. To the question, "Does Evernote work for me?" Yes, stated enthusiastically and without reservation. Fast. Intuitive. And with a bit of help from other smart users, it allows me to be very organized with little effort. And Evernote is getting better every day. Vinnie
  12. Terrific! I hope you now have several days that are stress-free since you had enough this week to last for a while! Vinnie
  13. I'm not a tech person, but I'm not surprised that the Android app works better on a Pixel than on a Samsung. Being a Google product, the Pixel runs a "pure" version of Android. Samsung insists on modifying Android to "improve" it. I like normal Android just fine, and don't like many (all?) of the Samsung improvements. It's why I switched to a Pixel phone. And this may not be the cause of your issue anyway. But it could be.... Meanwhile, search around the forum here and I think you will find a few threads about uninstalling and reinstalling that helped some users. Vinnie
  14. 99 percent probability is that you typed your sign in information incorrectly and accidentally created an empty account. Sign out. Then sign back into your real account being very careful to avoid any typing mistakes. Your information will be there waiting for you.
  15. Many (all?) of the shortcuts don't work on the web client. It's the main disadvantage of the web client from my perspective. Vinnie
  16. I think that's the best you can do. Others may have an approach that I don't know about. Vinnie
  17. Patricia, since nobody smarter is here, let me try to help. Can I assume you are Windows 10 since that's the area you posted in? Usually, updates go pretty seamlessly. Since you are having problems, let's walk through it step by step. Here's what I would do if it were me. Log out of your Evernote Windows desktop app. By this I mean go to the file menu and choose "sign out." (If you haven't done this recently, you should be sure your two-factor authorization works properly, you are confident that you have the right user account and password, etc., so that you can sign back in. You could choose the option to "remove Evernote data from this device" if you like. Doing that will increase the chance that you will get a clean install. Your data will still live on the Evernote server, so you won't lose anything. It also means that Evernote will download your notes fresh is okay, but could take some time and slow down Evernote's performance for a while until the download is complete. If it were me, I probably would keep my data for now. If you still have problems after you do this you can always go back and reinstall again after selecting the delete data option. Next I would reboot Windows. Why? Well, why not. It's kind of a universal cure for whatever ails you. Then go to Evernote.com/download and download the Windows version. This will get you the latest version. Do not get the update from the Windows store. Direct from the website is better. Doubleclick on the installation file and the program will reinstall. If a window comes up that says Evernote is already running, go ahead and check the box that offers to close it. Go ahead and try Evernote. Working properly? Terrific. Not working properly? Sign out again, download and install a copy of Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and use it to completely uninstall Evernote. (The usual windows uninstaller isn't good enough. People with problems have much better success uninstalling with Revo. Reinstall as above. Everything will likely be working. Since you did a complete uninstall, Evernote will create a new copy of your data on your local drive. This will take a while. You can use Evernote while this is happening - Evernote will pull down notes that you ask for right away, but everything may be a bit slower until it's done. Hope this helps. Vinnie
  18. I have simply taken the time to suggest an approach that works for me. If my approach does not meet your needs, so be it. Might I humbly suggest that, if you are actually interested in getting some assistance with your question, you use the phrase "thank you" more, and use CAPS and exclamation points less? It might result in you being added to fewer ignore lists. Good luck. Vinnie
  19. @MichaelxB, have you checked the web client? If you're notes are available on the web client, they are on Evernote's servers. If you don't see them on the web servers, that's a problem and you should contact support right away to see if they can recover them. Vinnie
  20. Not me! Like @mackid1993, I'm a Fastmail user. When they introduced CalDAV, I spent an hour trying to decipher how to use it. I barely got past the first screen. Then I decided that my time would be better spent going on a motorcycle ride. I use paid service Calendar Bridge to sync Outlook to Google and then Google to Evernote. It works so well that, instead of trying to get the new Outlook / Evernote integration to work, I'll probably just go on another motorcycle ride. Vinnie
  21. Or create a note to use as a custom template, call it a template and put it in a template folder. Then when you want to use the custom template, open it, duplicate it, rename it appropriate to whatever you are doing today, and start typing. Vinnie
  22. Use the web client? (Unless they've blocked it..._ Vinnie
