  1. Clutching at straws... Could this note have been shared with you from another account? Shared noted don't go to trash when deleted. But they do stay with the owner and, I think, remain available for you to restore to your account. I'm guessing that this isn't the case but worth exploring just in case.
  2. Just checked. I spent WiFi and data. Then searched for something and instantly a note from an offline notebook was located. Admittedly, I only keep the notebooks offline so a relatively small amount of data to interrogate but all works as expected.
  3. I'm the same. I wish we could identify the common issues...
  4. It is certainly easy enough to describe but I doubt the assertions that it will 'take an hour', is the 'thing that matters most', and that 'it's not difficult'. If it mattered most, it would have been done. I hope you find the means to persuade the developers to add the option you want. As you say, those that don't need it don't have to use it. But the option is evidently not high on the list of priorities. I suspect that the focus is on fixing glitches and restoring previous functions that are still missing.
  5. Tables of Contents have been raised numerous times. It seems the arguments for the use of the newer v10 approach are sometimes missed. Creating with the highlightting of the required notes, copy and paste into a ToC note are not awlays appreciated. This method creates a list that can be dragged and dropped so that the ToC can be re-ordered easily. It works with about the same number of clicks as the old Legacy approach. The argument in favour of internal links such as the up arrow at the end of a document are separate but also discussed elsewhere.
  6. I apologise, I find I do have the page referred to after all. Likewise clicking on the open in desktop button doesn't appear to work at first. Instead I right click the button and choose open link in new tab. THis opens the desktop app. The first time I had to allow the linking to go ahead.
  7. I don't believe that the web clipper (designed work inside a browser) offers the option to open the resulting note in a desktop application.
  8. Devs do pick up ideas but only rarely comment on ideas. If you want a response then you'll need to raise a support ticket.
  9. Some good questions... 1. No. The new tray icon opens the scratchpad or you can right click and choose open. The best workaround is to put a shortcut on the task bar and use that to open the program. 2 & 3. These go together. Evernote will reopen to the last view prior to minimising to the tray. So to hide the last note accessed you need to click away from it. The Home screen is an easy place to select. If you want to reopen into the note list then click a different note in the list of click on all notes. But the more list will be sorted in the default order - most often recently edited. 4. I'm not sure, perhaps someone else will know. 5. This issue can be a corruption in the the installation. The usual advice is to start the process of accepting the update but at the next step cancel and don't complete the upgrade. If that doesn't work then completely uninstall including deleting the program and data directories. Then reinstall. Normally the accept the update them cancel before paying.
  10. I don't know about this specific site but some block web clipping. For example my bank prevents the use of screen shots which also affects the web clipper. Could that be the issue? What about other pages from nbcnews.com?
  11. Note history runs all the time regardless of subscription but you gain access by payment. So you could upgrade for one month and get the note history and restore what is missing.
  12. Perhaps that is the clue... If there has been no response in that time then perhaps it has been decided that there isn't sufficient need, it is too difficult to do, or it is on the list of plans but way down the priority. In 11 years there have been a number of changes not least the completely new application software. v10 has so many things on the agenda suggestions like this will likely take sometime.
  13. Contact support. They provide technical access to your account. We're just fellow users who can suggest things from our own experience but not much more. The best I can suggest is that you log out completely from every Evernote application. Then login to your original paid for account via a web browser. That should give you access to your data that is on the server. If that is empty AND your details show you as subscriber from 2017 then talking to support its your only option.
  14. @John1812 I think I detect a tongue stuck firmly in your cheek. I, too, was bemused by the Email. I put the heading down to someone in marketing trying to write clever copy. I read the associated article which didn't take me far either. Thankfully it isn't a technical issue and no electrons were harmed when I deleted the message
  15. I would guess at the route from your office to the Evernote.com servers. I occasionally have slow responses with the web browser which I can almost always trace to a changed route introduced by my ISP. At one point it was also due to cacheing that was talking an age to refresh.
  16. This issue has been well rehearsed in the forums. Apart from the use of two separate shortcuts to add date and then time, many others use a program that automates the process separately to Evernote. Have a search for the solutions offered by others.
  17. I'm not sure that I would print a paper version but I might well print to a PDF which would be available to me as needed. However, if this relies on the current Evernote print fundtion then I'm not sure that I would rely too much. Printing in Evernote 10 is quite dysfunctional ( well documented in many forum threads).
  18. The problem with adding to a six year old post is that the issue was with different software and much water has passed under the bridge. But thanks for finding a relevant thread rather than starting something new. The good news is that with EN v10.25 desktop app running under Windows you can drag and drop from the note list into a different note. This creates a0 link to the dragged note. It works with a standard note in the application as well as with a blank note popped out into its own window. I doubt it includes backlinks but it does appear to happily follow moves of the original note. Not surprising since the note has a unique ID which is what is linked to. The link text does not change if the original note title is amended. But the link still works. Where the biggest issue seems to be, for me, is that the link created is an external link so following it opens the note in the web browser rather than the desktop application. So this function seems, to me, be a work in progress.
  19. This has been well rehearsed since the launch of v10. There's no sign of it returning but the workaround is to highlight the notes you want to add to a ToC. In Windows the relevant shortcut is Alt+Ctrl+L to copy to the clipboard. Start a new note and type Ctrl+V to paste the ToC into a new note. Not as nifty as the Legacy application but it works well enough.
  20. You should probably raise a support ticket. We're all fellow users here. Assuming that you are using a v10 desktop application... The one thing you could try is to completely decrypt the two troublesome notes and create new notes and encrypt them afresh on the desktop. This feels like a corruption style issue.
  21. Right click the PDF and the bottom options will be View as Attachment and All Pages. I think you are looking for All Pages. Once you've made the change the options change to allow return to Single Page view.
  22. There are many different use requirements and some want the optio to default to View as Attachment. Others want the whole document view by default. I suppose there are others that like the single page view with the option to click through page by page. Please express your desire for this to have an option to setting to Evernote support. For now, I simply change the setting the first time I go to a note and it isn't set how I need it. It is a little tedious but not overly so. This is better than going to each and every note as they are created and changing the view - often long before I need to actually access the note.
