  1. Hi. Evernote don't (usually) comment publicly on anything that may or may not be in development, nor do they forecast release dates. The topic has been raised, so it will have been noted by Evernote. When or whether it will be released at some stage is entirely up to them...
  2. I'm being slow. Didn't realise that the poster and the developer were (or at least appear to be) one and the same.. Going back to sleep now...
  3. Thanks for the tip - certainly looks interesting, though I'm a little worried that this app apparently does everything short of serving a hot beveridge. It handles all emails, so I'd need to do a bit of a conversion from Outlook mail and calendar as well as Evernote... I wasn't clear whether the payment quoted (which varies by the number of email addresses handled, which only goes up to three) was a one-off or an annual sub. I emailed the site so I'll let you know if I get a response..
  4. Hi. AFAIK encryption/ decryption only works on a note-by-note basis. You might be able to search for encrypted notes and use a script of some sort to decrypt and export them - type "encryption:" - without the quotes but with the colon - in the search box to get a list. If you forget the search term - In the Left Panel choose: >Attributes >Contains >Encrypted Text.
  5. The only guaranteed fix would appear to be to use a third-party word-processing app to save the content independently, then attach the finished file to an Evernote note so it's available wherever there is internet access.
  6. As you already appreciate, not possible yet. Current a;ternatives are: assign each task to a note, create separate new reminders (which will create otherwise blank notes), or use a third party to-do app like Ticktick to cover the gap..
  7. Yes folks, there's a problem. Especially if you deleted the software from you device that canread PDFs. If in doubt submit a support request. (See below) And in the meantime get Adobe Reader or something compatible...
  8. Yup - sorry if I upset you ('specially since I didn't actually mean to at the time); that was just a statement of fact. If a fix is not obvious, just reset the whole system with a cold reboot. One thing that does occur to me - if I click the centre button on my mouse, the screen scrolls up or down, depending on where the cursor is relative to the point I clicked. The fix for that is: centre-click again to switch it off. But that's system related and nothing to do with Evernote. Good luck with your scrolling..
  9. You sound as though restarting the computer isn't something you do very often, though it's Tech Support 101. If in doubt, restart. If that doesn't work can you give us a bit more background like what OS you're working with?
  10. Hmmmnn. Congratulations, I think you found a bug. I just looked at one of my notes in the old version of Evernote Web and found I can't open PDF's either. I suggest a support request (see below) headed "Bug!" The desktop version works fine, and I don't use the web version normally...
  11. I'm sure there are browser-based PDF readers, or you could install the desktop version and open the note there - that comes with its own PDF reader. Plus the new web version is a beta with more functionality to be added, so it might get future extras...
  12. In the latest versions of Evernote for Macs this ability to link to files seems to have been blocked "for security reasons" - Evernote staff have promised to return the feature in a future release, with an added security warning.
  13. Evernote desktop versions are aimed at small groups where enterprise security isn't (usually) an issue. Didn't say you don't need security for your banking app, but I'd bet you don't use it for your documents, speadsheets and emails, which are all similarly exposed to anyone with more than a few minutes hands-on time with any computer. I tend to encrypt confidential material, and keep some stuff - particularly banking - in a Local (unsynced and unshared) notebook on one machine. If necessary it could be kept in an encrypted partition. HR software has, in my limited experience, its own banking-style logins for security purposes. If you need more security you might want to have a look at Evernote Business which has levels of security baked in.
  14. This could qualify as a bug - View As Attachment is supposed to be a 'sticky' setting - that note should continue showing attachments only until you change the setting. When you open the note again do you find the setting has reverted to show the file contents, and you have to re-select that option, or is it still selected even though the contents are displayed? I'd suggest you raise a support ticket for this, though you won't hear much for a while if you're a free user.
  15. Hi. That trick works for me anyway - the idea is to get the file path and add file:/// to the beginning; so for a file called Capture.JPG on my desktop where the path is "c:/users/<myname>/Desktop/Capture.jpg" I create a string "file:///c:/users/<myname>/Desktop/Capture.jpg" then click in the note to select the body and Ctrl-K to insert a link. Paste the string and you're done. Of course you could always just right click the file, create a shortcut and drag/ drop the shortcut into your note...
  16. This seems to be one area where Evernote has achieved true parity across all platforms - the only options appear to be: resize the window higher on your screen insert blank lines to pad the text up use a different app to create your draft then copy/ paste into the note.
  17. Experience so far suggests the only result will be a continued resounding silence, but it's an open forum...
  18. The Windows guys and the Mac guys are actually separate teams, and we got some stuff way before they did... but that's a whole other argument discussion!
  19. Hi. Evernote have made some recent changes to the Mac editor which should be finding their way onto the Windows version too. Although the intent was to 'improve' the editor to deal better with tables, bullets and lists, it's always been my understanding that the editor was never meant to compete with a full word processor with fonts, and line spacing and all the other good layout tools. At the October conference recently though, comments were reported that makes it seem that Evernote might be about to compete with Office as a working environment. We'll have to wait and see what comes of that. At the moment though the only options for better line spacing are the ones you already know.
  20. Not butting in - this topic was a little dead in the water anyway. But confirming that behaviour on two devices doesn't sound good. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on one device? (Make sure you sync successfully first). If you do, and this is still a problem I suggest you submit a support request and get a ticket number at least. 6.0.2 should be out soon, perhaps it will sort things out...
  21. There are previous discussions on this, but desktops and laptops already have security built in and so far Evernote haven't seen the need to reinvent the wheel and add another layer for that specific app. If locking the device doesn't protect the contents, another password won't help. Can't help you with colour schemes.
  22. Hi - I believe you'll find that if you tap the 'edit' button, you'll get the scroll.
  23. Again with the anonymous Evernote client and/ or OS... Syncing is something that Evernote has to do to transfer the content of notes from one local device to another. For the most part it works reasonably well. If you use a a desktop PC, which has plenty of permanent storage, any changes will be saved locally whether or not you sync. Whenever the device is switched on, it will sync when it can, though a bad internet connection obviously isn't going to help. If you use a mobile device, which has limited storage, new notes will be saved in temp storage until the device connects - that's best set to "wifi only" syncing, because it's usually more reliable than a mobile signal. If your mobile device doesn't get the chance to sync, and you're using another device to look at notes, things can get complicated very quickly because two devices may then be trying to save different copies of the same note. "Losing notes" hasn't been mentioned in this thread so far, but it can happen if something goes wrong with the device or the internet connection. It's difficult for any software to build in guarantees against that.
