  1. Legacy on Mobile Android is (relatively) easy. Download an APK from one of these - Android original 8.13.3 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evernote-corporation/evernote/evernote-8-13-3-release/ https://apkpure.com/evernote-notes-organizer-daily-planner/com.evernote/versions https://evernote.en.uptodown.com/android/download/2259282 Search online for how to install if you're in doubt; likewise how to turn off automatic updates on the Evernote app. I'm still using the old version. In iOS the situation doesn;t seem so bad now with the latest updates...
  2. Hi. Have you logged out of / back into Evernote or powered your computer off and back on recently? If not, try those two options.
  3. Interesting - I thought updating was automatic in v10... Do you have any options to disable 'check for updates'?
  4. Hi. Evernote, as you know, extensively redesigned the Legacy app to generate Evernote 10. The two are very different from OneNote in a couple of respects - Evernote don't do sub-pages in notes, and OneNote don't do tags. The Legacy import from OneNote feature also hasn't been updated by Evernote in a while, and might be struggling with some more recent OneNote changes. It doesn't look like Evernote will have the chance to improve things until they've finished tweaking EN10, so basically importing from OneNote is a slightly chancy business! I don't know if anyone out there has already done this 100% successfully - maybe they'll have better ideas; but my take on this would be that you have three choices. Leave anything that won't import back in good order in OneNote and copy/ paste anything important across that you later find you need. Export the remaining OneNote items -if you can- (been a while since I checked) to another format like HTML or PDF which you can at least clip into or attach to Evernote notes and search there. Manually import anything (copy/ paste) that you can't otherwise force through. You could try splitting up your OneNote notebooks into smaller collections of notes - see whether a few notes will import where a large number will not - and (of course) you could ask Support if they have any ideas... it will at least give them some incentive to look at the conversion script again. If you're operating on a Mac, maybe there are some script ideas my colleagues can contribute...
  5. Hi. Try "tag:Berry" in the search box... This might help: Find what you need
  6. Hi. A snipping tool is built into Windows, but that should not be connected to Evernote. Are you using the Evernote screenshot feature? Does this help? - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005067-Use-Evernote-Helper-for-quick-notes-and-screenshots
  7. The likelihood of Evernote being shut down to the extent that users lose access to their notes is pretty remote, and even if a shut-down happened it would be standard practice to either offer an escape route to another app or give some months' notice to allow users to save their data. I use an app to export my notebooks to ENEX on a daily basis which IMHO is sufficient to protect me against catastrophic system failure, network loss and the possible need to jump ship. Since Evernote has an enormous juicy pile of millions of users, several other competitor apps have engineered their own import feature so as to make any changeover as painless as possible - even to the extent, in at least a couple of cases, of offering ENEX import. The 'older' versions of Evernote are the Legacy apps for Windows and Mac desktop
  8. Hi. Sounds like you're clicking in the PDF which is selecting the file, hence a blue highlight.
  9. This is a Windows thread, but I did think MacOS users had the same option... Try Support https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  10. Hi. Google sign-in issues were reported before. Does this apply in Firefox too? Do you have an option to sign in via Evernote user ID & password?
  11. Sorry, I can't do that - but you should be able to - click the three dots menu at top right of your post!
  12. Ah. Sorry - this may be something else that the new Evernote has yet to catch up with. The process I described used to work... 😒
  13. The Legacy version 6.25.2 is coded to work alongside and in sync with EN10. There's no reason I'm aware of that it should not re-download the EXB file if necessary. The previous public version is 6.25.1 which is still available but will update itself again unless you cancel that in options. If you check the location of your Evernote files in 6.25.x and sign out of Evernote, then rename the Evernote folder to Evernote.old and sign back into Evernote, you should get another copy of the database from the server which should be fully in sync with EN10 since AFAIK it's the same database...
  14. Hi. I have 50,000 notes, and there's not that much paper... If you want to backup your account, try right-clicking a notebook name and you should get an option to download all the notes to an ENEX format file which can be re-imported to Evernote - and several other apps - should you have the need. It's not currently possible to print the whole notebook (AFAIK) but you could consider installing the Legacy app (on a desktop which still has that option)
  15. Hi. Standard advice is to ask you to check on Evernote.com to see what's become of your notes, but as a basic user, you're subject to a device limit which will ask you to disconnect one of your current devices to allow you to connect.... https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/218558068-Understanding-the-device-limit The conflicting changes message refers to a note issue, not an account problem so maybe signing out of your Mac app and then back in will resolve it...
  16. Hmmn. Short answer - No. If you want to save your images in reasonable quality they'll be large files and saving them to your Evernote database would be slow and could possibly degrade the image anyway. Evernote has zero image editing features, and no AI image-recognition where Google Photos and a lot of other image management applications have all the bells and whistles. I suggest you search online and maybe consult your local photography club for some in depth help... https://www.geckoandfly.com/2306/alternative-photo-organizer-acdsee-10-photo-manager/
  17. Hi. Android devices have a central setting to either show or block all entries on a locked screen. Try your lock screen settings?
  18. Hi. It should not have done so. Have you restarted your device / logged into your account via Evernote.com? All notes are synced with the server.
  19. You could post a request in the general Feature Request forum on which other users could vote...
  20. Evernote's early release notes for version 10 announced that 'context' was being phased out. It's still possible to see something like that feature when you search the web - Clipper options include an option "Show Evernote content related to my web searches" It's possible that the new version 10 clipper will not include that - I'm not sure how related that is to Evernote's own feature - but you could also go back to the Legacy version for the time being to retain it...
  21. Hi. On the basis that banks and governments seem to be routinely hacked these days, I'd say it's impossible to judge whether anything you store online is ultimately safe. The only question you can ask is "Is it safe enough" I'm still using the Legacy version of Evernote which supports local (i.e. unsynced) notebooks, and my bank statements, medical records and other stuff goes in there. If/ when I transition to EN10 (and if they haven't reconsidered not supporting local notebooks!) I'll probably use a standard flat file database to hold my records, with links to that data in my Evernote index. Routine clips, correspondence, emails and everything else gets stored in Evernote and moved to Evernote's private area of Google's server farms. Evernote might as well use Amazon / Microsoft or any other commercial server farm provider - they're all heavily secured and encrypted areas that should be as safe as anything can be. It's possible to add extra layers of encryption like Evernote provides for specific areas of text, or by encrypting PDFs and other file formats using third party products. If your unencrypted data is already in Evernote, then it already exists in multiple, but still secure, places. There's a Note History function which records previous versions of your notes back to their creation, so even if you encrypt something you type in a new note, the chances are the plain text version still exists as copy No.1 - and no, the copies can't be purged. If you were to delete all notes from your account and close it down, the backup processes would gradually overwrite the old data and destroy your content - but I'd think it might take a while. You need to do your part too - have 2FA active on your account, use a unique password with Evernote, save anything you're especially concerned about on one device and offline, and use the encryption in your word-processor if you create documents (with more unique passwords...) - and keep your World Domination plans on paper and in a locked desk drawer... 🤫 These links may be useful to you... https://sec.hpi.de/ilc/?lang=en https://haveibeenpwned.com/ https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004395487-What-to-do-if-you-suspect-unauthorized-access-to-your-Evernote-account
  22. Hi. Tap the 'in progress' icon when you start to share a page to Evernote. You should have options including 'note with text' - which will be the URL
  23. Hi. Have you selected the option to retain a copy of the database when the app shuts down?
  24. Several people seem to have reported this - oddly all new posters with Basic accounts... I'm not a Mac user so I don't even know whether the quicknotes area is part of the Evernote app that you would expect to be synced back to the server. There are some Mac experts around, so hopefully someone will comment soon. Meantime I'd suggest you report this to Evernote via Twitter if you can.
