  1. Hi. Try restarting the device. It may have been 'frozen' briefly after an update and 'should' allow you to edit normally after a short delay. If it's still not doing so, please try an uninstall / restart / reinstall again. If the issue continues, contact Support for more assistance...
  2. Hi. If you're printing to PDF from the app, try downloading the app to your desktop and print from there. If you already downloaded the file, this seems to be a PDF/ printer issue unconnected with Evernote...
  3. Hi. Basic users are allowed to connect to the app with 2 devices - which includes all mobiles, desktops and the web client. The message is asking you to sign out of one or more devices. See here for more... Understanding the device limit
  4. Hi. Try closing the note and then exiting the app, and restart it manually. It seems to have saved the place at which it was last opened when you first set it to autostart...
  5. Hi. That's no longer possible in v10. All notebooks will be synced to the server for the moment - further options may be available in future, but there's no flexibility at present. If you install and use the Legacy desktop app however, you should still be able to create Local (unsynced) notebooks which should do the job.
  6. Evernote do not usually comment on when or whether new features may be available until they are available. They make no claims that the app will notify users when changes are made - it's up to us to work out ways to use the feature as it currently is - or to find an alternative app that performs better.
  7. Hi. As far as I know, Evernote will continue to renew Plus accounts as is unless you wish to upgrade or cancel your subscription. I'm not sure whether the 40% discount applies to existing Plus subscribers - you'd have to confirm that with Support. If it does, you'd have one year at the reduced level, then you'd pay the full then current price at next renewal. The discount may or may not be available through iTunes - it might simplify matters if you cancelled that arrangement and paid Evernote direct. How to manage your Evernote subscription
  8. Actually they're not. A copy of the database does exist on your computer while you use the v10 app. It is possible to opt to have that copy retained after you stop using the app, so that you can see and edit notes when offline. Otherwise it will be cleaned up (deleted) as the app exits. Apologies for that - I can't check because I'm not using v10 but other users have exported their notes to ENEX files on a notebook - by - notebook basis. Maybe someone else can confirm how that is done...
  9. Hi. Can you give us more detail of your OS / Evernote version and how this note was being created? Was it a clip, or something you were editing? And on how many devices was Evernote active at the time?
  10. For the record here - there have been zero confirmed cases of the Evernote v10 update actually deleting files. Some devices take a while to reconfigure to the new systems and show blank records for a few minutes or hours after the event. In some cases users have been uninstalling and reinstalling to try and 'fix' the problem and may have inadvertently logged into a new account rather than their original notes. The answer is almost always to log in - very carefully - to the Web client to view the server copy of the database. If that's not present, then either you're logged into the wrong account or the notes somehow were never synced to the server. Deleted notes wind up in the Trash notebook - they never vanish completely... And for anyone frustrated by version 10 - I'm still working normally (for me) on Evernote for Windows 6.25 and Android 8.13. I don't use v10 yet, and I don't plan on doing so until I have to... I have enough problems!
  11. Hi. It's my understanding that a link to a file in external storage (like Google Drive or iCloud) is just a link - i.e. it opens the file where it is in storage, and will save it back there. So there's no 'updating' required in the link - it's just a way to access the file remotely, exactly like a desktop shortcut. As such, I already use file links with various external stores like DropBox and Onedrive to view and edit content. You should have no problem with iCloud. AFAIK the Google 'integration' mainly gives you is a nicer link...
  12. Oh yeah - and please don't post the same query twice; it upsets moderators... I merged your posts. 😏
  13. Hi. As you're a subscriber, I'd suggest you reach out to Support - I've not seen anything specifically the same, but iOS syncing does seem to be a generic issue... Multiple copies suggests that the iPad had trouble sending data to the server, or the Mac had trouble receiving it...
  14. Hi. In version 10 your notes are held in temporary storage on your local hard drive while the software is in use. The storage is cleared when the app is closed. There's an option to retain the temporary store after signout to allow offline use of the app, but the files kept there are not AFAIK usable by any application other than Evernote. 1. Backup options - v10 - right-click each notebook and export an ENEX file of the content v10 or legacy - Use CloudHQ or some other online backup service legacy - use the Legacy app and backup as you (presumably) have been doing. 2. Encrypted? Don't know - ask Support (good question!) - it's certainly not easily accessible, which may be good enough... 3. Access? No. See Evernote's security and data storage promises online.
  15. Hi. It's always useful to know your OS and Evernote version when offering suggestions... In general I'm still using the 'old' Evernote versions on Windows and Android, and have no issues receiving emails forwarded from Gmail or anywhere else. It's not an instant process - takes anywhere from minutes to an hour or more to come through - but it still works. Mails go to Evernote's servers, so maybe check Evernote.com in your browser?
  16. Hi. At this point you're responding to a 12-year old tweet from a guy who left the company about 8 years ago. Evernote has quite a lot about note tagging - these two links may help... Organize with tags Tips for organizing notes, notebooks, and tags
  17. If your 'extremely sensitive' information was emailed at all, it's no longer private. Some email apps make a great thing of their encryption - for a reason. Evernote is not an email provider. Perhaps if you can explain in more detail what issues you're experiencing, we might be able to help?
  18. So would I. I'd bet that a few million people have given feedback on the website in the last 2 months. If you reach out to Support, you get a reserved place in a queue with a ticket number plus a direct and individual response within a week or so. And just in case anyone is in any doubt Evernote Legacy is alive and well and working as well (?) as it always did... https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
  19. Hi. This is a (mainly) user-supported forum and I personally didn't understand a word of that - you may need to be speaking to Evernote or at least to other developers... you might want to try here... https://dev.evernote.com/support/
  20. Hi. As far as I know it has never been possible for Basic users to create notes by email - other than an initial 5 emails purely for trial purposes. If you have downgraded from a subscription or were using some other service it may be that you had another access, but at this moment Evernote does not allow creation of notes by email for Basic users.
  21. The original query was basically about a note created in Siri having this issue (I think...). Is yours something of the same? If not it may help if you add a little more background about how you got to this point.
  22. Until October last year Evernote's (12+ year-old) coding didn't even allow for the possibility. It's likely in the pipeline now, given the number of votes here - but Evernote don't generally share whether or when new features will launch. Meantime I'm "struggling" along as a heavyweight (in several senses) Evernote user with added Workflowy: which does shareable backlinks / mirrors / images / files / kanban... oh, and bullets. https://workflowy.com/s/help/4KzavO0VGYdhp7RS
  23. Plus: imagine the 'old' Evernote had, in total, 1,000 features - some specific to one operating system or another. V10 came off the blocks with about 200 common easy-to-code basic features common to all. They're still going through the other 800 to add (most of) them back - with users baying in the background "where's my <insert feature> it's essential to my workflow!!" It takes a significant time to add each feature, so they can't all be coded at once; there will (hopefully) be a listing of priorities. They'll probably group features like keyboard shortcuts together, because it makes no sense to rewrite the keyboard routines multiple times when you could do it once for most of them at one time. And sometimes even a 'simple' fix takes time if it has lots of friends that are still being coded...
  24. AFAIK yes - if you wish to view or edit a spreadsheet. My point here was that some spreadsheets can be rather large, and apparent lack of action could be down to a very slow download taking place in background somewhere...
