  1. Hi. Evernote v10 does not support the local storage of notes. You may have a better experience if you install the Legacy version, which still - for the moment - allows local storage.
  2. Hi. All the information that you have uploaded will still be available and visible to you. You may not be able to edit large notes. PDF files are supported in Basic, but unless they are 'searchable' PDFs they will not be indexed by the system.
  3. Hi. Open Evernote and go to the File menu. Choose to sign out of the app. Now someone needs your user name and password to get access. When you're back home, look into 2-factor authorisation to make sure no-one can sign in even if they have your user details. If you have access on the work computer, just uninstall the app. DO NOT delete anything from your account unless you want it gone everywhere - all changes get synced back to the server.
  4. Hi. Unless you have a computer that runs iOS you're posting in the wrong forum. Did you have Evernote installed on your computer? That would give you a desktop icon. Otherwise you need to go to Evernote.com to use the browser version. You could still create a shortcut to your web page.
  5. Hi. With the Web client running on the same codebase and catching up rapidly on features, would that be an option for you until Evernote make this an option?
  6. Hi. Looks like that page has too many links or images. Evernote presumably ask you to contact support so they can take a look at the page to help them improve the clipper. If you're on iOS though (according to this thread..) did you try sharing the page? If clipper won't work there are endless online resources to clip or convert the page to PDF, or you may be able to email it to yourself...
  7. Hi. I take a daily backup of my account in case of something like this - in theory I can restore my own previous note by restoring from the backup. If you don't have that option you could consider upgrading again if you have a monthly payment option. After a month or two subscription you could downgrade again. During that time your note history should be available, despite you being basic for a period. EDIT: Sorry - also forgot; since this happens a lot to me when online I use a browser extension to remember the history of edits for that session. It's both Chrome and Firefox - see the Google Store page
  8. Still using Chrome here [Version 88.8.43.7641 (Official Build) (64-bit)] and no issues on either Windows or Linux Mint (Deb) 🤔
  9. You could always ask Support whether they can offer you a link - but I imagine that if you want to stay friends with Google, you need to abide by their rules - and they're probably as restrictive as Apple: There Can Only Be One current version...
  10. I thought Edge was Chrome based these days. I'm getting the web version OK on a Chrome clone browser ("Sidekick") without any issues. If you do have problems and you're a subscriber - please contact Support to give the details. The developers will pick up trends from here, but you can get personal feedback (and apply a little bit of pressure to the company to fix things) by getting them to help...
  11. Hi. Install the Legacy version to regain access to your locally stored database.
  12. Hi. Don't know whether that's Evernote - there are keyboard formatting shortcuts, but AFAIK they all require another key to be pressed first. Check the Help menu in your app for details - but there are no options yet to redefine the keys. EDIT: In fact - check this out received just! https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058361833-Evernote-release-notes
  13. Hi. Sympathies with the frustration, but a lot of people are just continuing on Legacy while we wait for Evernote to get the new app fixed properly. If they give up - there'll be time to bail out; but you never know - they might (maybe, possibly...) actually get this fixed!
  14. Hi. Have you tried using your word processor of choice and attaching the output file to a note? You can then use the detailed print options of the WP app to generate any paper copies rather than rely on something which is trying to run inside of a browser...
  15. Hi. There used to be a feature (still is, in Legacy) where you could create a 'Local Notebook' - something that looked to your account exactly like a normal notebook, but its contents were not synced to the server, they were purely saved on the local (desktop) device. Such local storage is no longer supported, though I, and numerous others, did use it.
  16. I was able to download the beta Linux version from an Evernote link recently (after agreeing to the conditions there...) but the link no longer works for me - I just get the Evernote landing page. Is any feedback link available? I found what seems to be an important issue, but I have no way to report it other than the standard support link...
  17. Given that restriction I'd suggest you stick to the legacy version for as long as possible. In general my proposal was that you save your files to a hard drive or memory stick and create a note in Evernote that has links to the local storage location. That will open files, but not allow you to search the content. If an 'executive summary' with each link will not suffice - "budget meeting with <name> on <date>" or some such, then you'd need some third party document management software to index the contents of the files. At the moment Evernote Local Notebooks does that job rather well.
  18. Hi - the answer depends a little on how many notes you have that include PDFs. There is a search option in the Legacy app to find PDFs that seems to work in v10 too... resource:application/pdf
  19. If you read the previous post, it is possible to move the offline notes anywhere - an external hard drive folder is an obvious option - and keep an index in Evernote with local file links so that the necessary notes can be opened directly in whatever app originally created them.
  20. Hi. The rules changed a while ago, and this is the current position - Understanding the device limit If you can operate within those limits, then you're more than welcome to continue. But you appreciate that Evernote offer more than 'just' free software - all your notes are synced to a central server to be available on your devices however they connect to the internet. If you've been a member for a while, you'll have tens, or hundreds of megabytes of note storage that will never expire - even on a free account, if you don't use it for 10 years the notes are still available. It's also an automatic backup - you should never lose data.. unless it's through pressing the wrong key at the wrong time - and that should be recoverable too. Students do get special offers - see here forinstance: Evernote for Students
  21. Best advice would be to uninstall Evernote, power your system off and then back on, re-download from the Evernote website and reinstall as Administrator (the Admin bit used to work with the old version, not sure whether it's relevant now - but it won't hurt to try...)
  22. See the post above yours - check in Settings from the web page.
  23. Hi. As a subscriber, you could report this direct as a bug with that version - you'll get confirmation whether it was removed by accident or design, and maybe some suggestions from Evernote (which we're - mostly - not). https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
