  1. Hi. The Legacy version is 6.25.2. This is the previous public version 6.25.1 - don't forget to turn off updating in Tools > Options if you decide to use it... http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.1.9091.exe
  2. If it's an Evernote note, doesn't Ctrl+A / Ctrl+C work?
  3. Hi. This might help - there are ways to switch autoformat off... Use auto-formatting
  4. Hi. Please don't post (effectively) the same question more than once here - you'll only get the same people responding. See https://evernote.com/students - after the sales pitch there are some useful suggestions...
  5. Hi. This is a (mainly) user-supported forum. You'd need to contact the developer forums for more on this... they hang out around here I believe... https://dev.evernote.com/
  6. Hi. I believe this is still "coming soon" for Evernote's definition of 'soon'. Meantime any app that records audio could be used to generate a file that you can attach to a note...
  7. Hi. You may be over-reacting here. Who was this email from? Several threads in the Forums deal with 'phantom' access to accounts - usually via a user name and password sourced from another account breach online. If Evernote is given the right credentials for access it doesn't have any way to trace that a user is not elsewhere in the world. There are several ways to protect your account - check for breaches here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004395487-What-to-do-if-you-suspect-unauthorized-access-to-your-Evernote-account https://evernote.com/security See also - https://sec.hpi.de/ilc/?lang=en or https://haveibeenpwned.com/ or https://cybernews.com/personal-data-leak-check/
  8. Hi. When encrypting a new note, you can just use a new password - but you might want to start adding a password reminder to your notes so you remember which password you used each time. Once you've set up the password I'm not sure you can change it without copying the unencrypted content to a new note and re-encrypting it as though it were new.
  9. Hi. From a personal point of view I'd say Evernote is a bit of a sledgehammer if you only want to create shopping lists - there are any number of other apps that will do the job (though not all of them move the items around on completion - some cross through the item, others just vanish it.) This is as much as Evernote can offer - and no, there's no re-ordering there either. Create a checklist
  10. Hi. Have you considered exporting old notes to an ENEX file and deleting them from your account? You could tag them 'archive' or some such and exclude them from searches, or use that tag to find and export them on a regular basis.
  11. Hi. Have you tried the app again since the blank screen? If it's still blank, try signing out of Evernote and back in, or restarting your device. Worst case, uninstall the app and download the latest version from Evernote's web site and do a clean reinstall.
  12. Kinda depends on what you want to do with it. You can save anything, find anything and organise... lots. There are youtube videos with more specific information and we can answer specific questions... and https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us will show you some useful stuff too...
  13. Hi. The original copies of your notes and attachments will have been synced to Evernote's servers - so just install the app on your new phone and sign into your existing account. The content will download to your new phone directly. Give it an hour or two on the network before you do anything critical...
  14. I'll repeat THIS IS A MAINLY USER-SUPPORTED FORUM and I'm not employed by or connected with Evernote other than as a user of the product.
  15. Hi. This is a (mainly) user-supported Forum. If you wish to raise specific issues, please contact Support direct. https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  16. What I meant was that you can save or print most word processor files as PDF "portable document format" files which - depending on your device and account type - will be indexed and displayed in a note in an 'inline' window. However what you said is also correct - if you attach a text file to Evernote it will be displayed as text - though not (AFAIK) using RTL. You may have to experiment a little to find a method that suits your needs.
  17. When I wish to set up keywords I use a specific prefix so as not to confuse the keywords with other text - xWork or xProject1 forinstance. Checkboxes - ticked and unticked - can also be searched for, within date ranges if appropriate. My To-Do list forinstance is basically "any task that is still open with a due date of today or earlier".
  18. Hi. I can appreciate the frustration if a previously reliable app suddenly stops providing the service you're used to. But please don't shout at us - this is a (mainly) user-supported forum. As I see it you have three options - Sync Evernote up to date and uninstall the app completely. Restart your device (power off, then back on...) and download and install the 'old' version of Evernote from here: http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.1.9091.exe. You'll need to go to Tools > Options and disable 'check for updates'. Leave your present installation as it is and use the Support feature that you subscribe for to raise specific issues with Evernote direct: https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new Install the 'legacy' version of Evernote, which is an old version that runs alongside the new version, so you can have a foot in both camps. See also point 2 for any issues that arise. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote Good luck with whichever you choose...
  19. Not a snide snippet - just a bald statement of fact. Evernote currently has two (I imagine) unwelcome drains on its profitability. A large number of 'free' customers who've been using a significant portion of the company's resources for years, and -more recently- a large body of Legacy/ Old version users (like me!) who're using resources that Evernote may have 'streamlined' in the new version. I still sync my whole database when I sync (forinstance) when the new app just stores current notes locally so presumably produces much less traffic. (I stress: all unconfirmed supposition on my part...) They're demonstrably tightening the rules on the Basic account to make long-term use less attractive, and I wait with interest the first moves to persuade us hold-outs to update to v10... 🤔 Good luck in your new home.
  20. ...It will be visible as text, and may even be searchable - depending on your subscription level. I'm also using the 'old' Windows version so I don't know how Win v10 operates.
  21. Hi. After the app updates itself there can be a period where notes are not immediately visible while the interface catches up. If you're not used to accessing via the web, it's also easy to create a new account when trying to log into an existing one. There's a 'forgotten password' option at Evernote.com - I'd suggest you go back and verify your login details there. For reassurance, your notes cannot be gone - they will be stored online. all you need to do is get access...
  22. Well, you have the same issue in a completely different version of Evernote because it's changed a little in 3 years... same question though: please quote a specific example of note size(s) and on-disk size(s).
  23. Don't know if we suggested it at some point in this narrative, but has anyone thought of using an external RTL editor and saving the source file in an Evernote note? If the editor outputs to searchable PDF files, the documents would even be searchable - definitely for subscribers, maybe for free users...
  24. If anyone has a gripe about a specific version of Evernote, it's better to make it in the actual Android (or other) Forum, since this thread is 8 pages long now and likely not a priority read for the developers. ...who aren't 'ours' as this is a (mainly) user-supported Forum, though the Devs still read comments here... in their copious free time...
