  1. Hi. You can ignore it, but 39GB is a very small amount of free space on any non-Mac system. There are recommendations that computer users should leave 10-20% free space on their system for the inevitable temporary files and working spaces that operating systems and browsers (and Evernote) require. Please do an internet search to see whether this affects your specific MacOS version. If you have problems running Evernote - or any other software - those issues may be caused or exacerbated by low disk space.
  2. Hopefully you've moved your data across to Obsidian then and won't have any issues if Legacy becomes inoperative. I just did this dance over here - ...and for the TL:DR group - it's increasingly urgent to use the off-ramp or the upgrade to avoid an inevitable data-geddon. If you have issues, work with the company and/ or oher users in the Forums to get over or around them. Ignoring the issue is not an option.
  3. I've seen comments that suggest infrequent (and maybe insufficiently techie) users haven't been aware of the fuss and palava over the past few years and are surprised that a routine update produces a wholly different experience. I'd guess that those who are aware of the new version tried it out in the early days and (as I did) decided it was unfit for purpose were staying with Legacy for as long as possible. However - things got better... I sincerely doubt that many took an informed decision that in light of reported issues they could not entrust their precious data to the new version. Regardless, there is reason to believe that Legacy will stop in the near(ish) future - either through v10 developments becoming incompatible with the earlier versions, or because (as are already being reported) user OS's and browsers will no longer support old code. Hence the increasingly urgent nags to upgrade. Given that -at some still unspecified but probably short time- legacy will no longer be available, your choices to get rid of the nags are to upgrade as suggested, or find another app. v10 is far better now than it was at startup, and by using it and giving feedback to Evernote n what does, and does not, work, users can help shape the app into a form that's most useful for them.
  4. Hi. I'm familiar with Find and Replace. Ctrl(Cmd)+F in the body of a note will allow you to change text characters. A more detailed 'style' option is not available. I wouldn't use it either. IMHO Evernote is for the efficient collation of random information, not the careful design of colorful pages. I'd use a work processor for individual versions of that if and when necessary, and attach the file to my note.
  5. Evernote's AI features should do pretty much what Grammarly does in the future, and that won't involve any additional licensing fees that will eventually trickle down to be paid by users. If enough users vote for it (see top left of the page) then I'm sure Evernote will take a look at it though.
  6. Attaching a very large file to a note on a mobile device will likely take a long time to sync to the server. Also the maximum note size is 200MB and getting close to this limit can cause problems with displays and downloads. I suggest you allow 24 hours for the file to sync fully. If you can access the same video file from your PC it may be quicker to download it from the original source rather than wait for the system to catch up.
  7. Hi. What device / versions of Evernote & Widows are you using?
  8. ...Don't see any defences here, only a realistic cold calculation: do you feel the app is worth whatever the new price is in your local currency? If not, then by all means head for the exit. Evernote clearly expect some losses - maybe they over-estimate their own security. I have a large database with occasional hiccups, but no worse a situation than any other software I use, and no immediate need to vacate. If there's a better option in 12 months and the position here is the same and/ or costs have gone up again, I may be strongly tempted. Until then it's business as usual. Several other 'power' users seem to feel the same way, but everyone's mileage is different.
  9. Not sure how you're experimenting, but the way to move from one to the other is simply to install the latest Evernote version for your OS. Mine is 10.58.8. V10 uses a different file structure from Legacy, so takes a little while to download and install the new database. While that's happening you might see notes waiting to have their attachments included. Best advice would be to install the new app and give it an hour or so to set up - how long depends on how many notes and the speed of your network connection.
  10. Have you updated to 10.58.8 now? If you can quote your ticket number here we should be able to flag it for an Admin to take a look for you...
  11. Hi. Have you tried Clipper in another browser? I don't use Edge, but I do use another Chrome-based browser and the extension is behaving normally for me. I'd suggest you advise Evernote directly if the issue continues for more than a day or so. (We're mainly other users around here...)
  12. Easily. All your notes should be stored on Evernote's server. Simply download the latest version from Evernote.com and install.
  13. Hi. What version of Windows? 7 & 8 are no longer supported by Microsoft or Electron (the app that hosts Evernote). You should still be able to access notes via Evernote.com
  14. Maybe if you could share what device / version of windows you are using, and give us some specifics on why you think the app is a disaster we might be able to offer more suggestions? I'm now running the latest version 10.58.8 on a Dell desktop and a Samsung tablet with 60,000 notes and counting, and it doesn;t seem so bad to me...
  15. You got the point that I'm just another user, right? I volunteer here to give factual information about what Evernote can and can't do, and - where I can - work-arounds for some issues. Since there is limited time and a lot of posts to deal with, I tend to be brief. If you don't like the advice, then please disregard it.
  16. Apologies if I came over that way - was just working through what I know about the system to see whether any explanations/ fixes occurred to me.
  17. Not sure what you're looking for here - we're mainly users with no access to your account. If you want to find out what happened and maybe get some notes back you really need to contact Support. As I already said I really have no clue what combination of circumstances might have caused your issues.
  18. You should still have access to your notes via the web on Evernote.com, and your mobile devices will still work.
  19. No 'selective' about it - any unsynced information didn't even get to Evernote. But I can't work out what might have happened - just another user here. Support may be able to help you - they can look at the server side of your account and maybe resolve something for you.
  20. Evernote gave notice 2+ years ago that Legacy was no longer supported. It has not been possible to 'update' Legacy since then. Legacy users are being nagged more frequently to upgrade currently because (presumably) Evernote plans to develop v10 past the point that Legacy users will be able to connect at all in the next few months and the option of not upgrading would be to find a 'bricked' database of unsuable information on your device. If you truly wish to return to Legacy and take the risk, there are download links elsewhere in this forum - simply uninstall what you have and reinstall the older version. You will still be nagged. If you wish to complain to Evernote please use the feedback link in any app, or contact Support - we're mainly other users here...
  21. There's a Ctrl (Cmd) + help "troubleshooting" menu, but I wouldn't go messing in there without guidance from Support!
