  1. Sorry, maybe I oversold that a bit... The parent copy of all your notes is kept on the server, with a 'child' version locally (on a desktop) to allow you to see notes quicker. My assumption was that your local installation is corrupted somewhere - either the database or the search index - and this method, using Revo to clear off any traces of your previous installation will allow a clean reinstall. The server will rebuild your local database over the next few minutes or hours, depending on how many notes you have. If you want to try the less extreme options first, they include just signing out and back in, and a power off / power back on rotation. There is no nuclear fallout at any stage of the operation.
  2. That's as may be, but please don't post the same content twice. I deleted your other post. Please add votes above, top left of the page.
  3. Hi. Weird. If you are a free user try https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true otherwise use Settings > Support from the mobile app.
  4. Hi. If you're a subscriber I'd go directly for the nuclear option. > Go to sign out and tick "remove my data" > Use Revo Uninstaller Free to 'nuke' Evernote and any related system files > Restart your computer to clear any temporary caches > Re-download and reinstall the latest Evernote app NB this will take a little while depending on the size of your account, and the speed of your connection: don't do it when you're in a hurry!
  5. Hmmn. If you can get back to the app, there should be a Support link in Settings; otherwise https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  6. I think it already is - but I moved the thread to a voting forum. I think it's a 'nice to have' - but as you point out; there's already a heading hierarchy to work with...
  7. Your notes will still be around, but you need to go through Support (see links above) to find them. It may be that you're misrembering the log in details. They should be able to do a search based on your email address(es) to see what accounts were created.
  8. Hi. That would require 'anchors' within notes to allow content to be indexed in the way you describe. It is possible to recreate this situation in a slightly different way within Evernote. Open one note in a separate window and have another open in the app Choose one as the index and the other as a section or paragraph content holder (When I do this I tend to rough out the notes in outline in the index and then use each line as a link to a separate note title) Create the content of each section in the separate notes, jumping between them if necessary with the Index OR Use a word processor which has these capabilities and simply save the parent copy of the file in Evernote. It's editable wherever the WP app is available.
  9. Hi. How many devices do you have accessing your account? Understanding the device limit
  10. Hi. Can you export your notes into text, PDF, RTF or HTML files? Try a few notes first in different formats so you can find what works best for your content. Export some notes, and save to a folder in your local desktop storage; open Evernote and add that folder as an "Import Folder" which will automatically add each file as a seperate note with the file name as title. (You may want to rename some files before import.) Beware that if you're not yet a subscriber you have some system limits on note size and monthly uploads. Once you're sure that things are working as well as you wish, process all your notes - or as many as you can within the limits. -Having said all of which, you can also copy/ paste or drag and drop files into Evernote if you only have a few.
  11. Hi. If the note title still exists then the subscriber feature Note History should get the content back. But Evernote is not a good place for passwords - there are many alternatives around - I use Bitwarden on Windows and Android which (depending on your OS) will 'autofill' user IDs for you.
  12. Hi. If you're not sure - why not opt for the cheaper version for now and see if you're missing something you could use?
  13. Hi. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but your work should still be saved on the server - have you tried signing in via Evernote.com in a browser? (Beware this counts as 'another device' if you're not a subscriber.) Clicking on Share should have simply opened another menu on screen.
  14. Hi. Try powering the phone off and on again before reinstalling? That's about all we have on mobile tech issues. Also contact Support if you can...
  15. What's the captcha? I got a little car with a barely visible track and instructions to put a dot at the end of the track. Took me a while to work out which end...
  16. Not usually, no. Don't get me wrong - I'd probably use the 'choose thumbnail' option if we get one, but it's low down the priority of getting things faster and more reliable, and tidying up a zillion other things. Y'mean like "most important usability features" or "wanted by most users"? My point was that the Forums here are not the pinnacle of customer feedback for Evernote - Facebook and Reddit have several active groups, plus there's the blog and Youtube, and all the direct feedback to CS and Support. And let's not forget These are suggestions not instructions. Some requests may be commercially or technically easier than others. Some requests may be commercially or technically faster to implement than others. Evernote -like most other companies- is unlikely to say whether or when a feature will be added. End of the day - the company doesn't have to explain or justify its decisions to users.
  17. Hmmn. Didn't think Devonthink was a secret... and importing seems pretty easy - https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20230503-switch-from-evernote#:~:text=Import in DEVONthink&text=Launch the legacy version of,imported notebooks and their notes. If Devonthink can import ENEX files then even if someone is locked into a v10 account, you can still export all notes into ENEX by going to the Notebooks page and exporting each notebook (no 100-note limit) in full. Devonthink is "for Mac" and costs a little less than Evernote (I believe). I'm currently staying with Evernote because I don't seem to be having the same bad experience that some are. Have fun with Devonthink
  18. Wow. I'm impressed. You could not be more wrong. Choosing the thumbnail is not my - or many others' - most important feature The issue was raised 12 years ago with the previous owners, as a suggestion; there are new owners now who haven't had time work out their priorities yet. This is NOT wanted by 'most users' - 544 votes here is slightly outclassed by a 200 MILLION silent majority. Notes are fully downloadable from the Notebooks page as HTML PDF or ENEX files and many competitors offer conversion routines if you want to move. Evernote, like Word and Acrobat and Lightroom is a software package that invites suggestions from users for possible improvements. It is not required that the company comment on suggestions, or explain when or whether they will extend their product. Suggest away - but it's Evernote's decision if they do anything with that information.
  19. The thing about work-arounds is they will work immediately, while waiting for Evernote to 'fix' something takes anywhere from months to years, depending on whether and when they will schedule the work. The Editor is probably a bit complicated, so they'll want to collect all possible fixes and features in one place and then decide which to implement. Unless they're working on the Editor already, I doubt you'll see any progress this year...
  20. If you click the Star icon on the left panel that takes you to the Shortcuts screen, and then click the 3 dots at the top right, "Edit Shortcuts" gives you a screen with a series of 'burger' lines (3 lines in a group) on the right. Drag a burger up or down the screen to move the entry to where you need it. Beware the red icon to the left - that will remove the entire entry!
  21. I already suggested this above I think - but to avoid any extensive editing, how about simply having an 'index' note with only the picture of the employee and any other details you need quickly, plus a link to the original note filed in a 'library' notebook somewhere...?
  22. While I appreciate it's annoying to have little things apparently going wrong, diving back into Legacy "until they're fixed" doesn't necessarily mean that anyone is actually working on that issue or that it will ever be 'fixed'. You're basically relying on someone else having the same issue and taking the time to report it to Support, send them Activity Logs where necessary and generally help to identify what's happening and how (if necessary) to fix it. If everyone accepted the new version and worked with Support to resolve their perceived issues, things would get better a lot faster. And if Evernote didn't have to double-engineer everything to maintain compatibility with Legacy they could commit more resources to improving things too!
  23. Hi. Device / OS / Evernote version? - and how exactly are you adding a shortcut / what is the shortcut to / and what does "can't" mean: error message / blank screen / loud bang?
