Cannot Open Evernote. Trying to get access to notes
gazumped replied to Jacob Duell's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi. Sign in to your account via Evernote.com in a desktop browser. If your notes are alive and well, uninstall from your device, power it off and on again, and re-download/ reinstall the app. There will have been about 50 updates since you last used it. -
Regarding adding a paper type on evernote
gazumped replied to geetansh_aditya's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi. There is no option for 'paper type' in Evernote. -
Hi. Depends on how much is in there I guess - a very large trash would slow down syncs, take up local storage space and just be a drag on performance; but unless you notice any of the above it's not going to be an issue...

Evernote Web Pages Width at 800 px too narrow
gazumped replied to sjachille's question in Evernote Web Client Requests
Hmmn. Sorry, no idea - I've added JPGs to my pages in Postach.io and didn't have any issues. Maybe try their online help? They can take a while to respond, but they eventually get round to it. (I think this is a part-time gig that mostly looks after itself) -

Large number of notes went to Trash
gazumped replied to DelraySFL's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi. No clue. What's your device / OS / Evernote version? Haven't been aware of random trashing of notes up to now - but restoring notes from trash is pretty easy; did you have any special issues there? Please contact Support with details and copy activity logs so we all can be sure this won't recur...- 1 reply

Evernote Web Pages Width at 800 px too narrow
gazumped replied to sjachille's question in Evernote Web Client Requests
Well, as we suggested, there are a couple of options from Evernote which might help, but even sharing a note which contains a link to a spreadsheet in a cloud drive might be easier for your clients to get their head around? Evernote does tend to give the impression that you need an account to view shared notes, but a single shared note containing links to cloud drive items could act as a useful 'home page' for some users... -
Hmmn. I use Evernote notes as my "detail" filing cabinet with an index and calendar link elsewhere. The notes I create in Evernote are linked to and from there simply by using (in Windows) Ctrl+Alt+L to generate an app link, and Ctrl+V to paste it into the parent note, where it shows as the note title. I'll copy/ paste it from there to my linked third party application(s) and delete it from the parent note. Simples.

I used to run a tech support team, so let's just say that there are lots of different opnions on that. Please see my note of an hour ago which mentioned there are a couple of ways to send information to Evernote, though you won't get any direct help. Free users are subject to limitations and restrictions in a blatent attempt to get them to pay for the service if they use it in any detail. Evernote are a business, after all. It is possible to have a very low-key use case, but for anything more detailed it is necessary to pay, or to find an alternative.

I was (almost) enjoying the exchanges for a while - it's a bit like having an excitable puppy around yapping and making messes while the grown-ups carry on with business as usual, tidying up as they go. But it is beyond rude to hijack a forum in this way - actual users will have to wade their way through all this drivel to find any actual information we can provide, and a dozen people who are normally helping others have been engaged in a schoolyard discussion by someone who clearly is a full-time troll simply making mischief. The fact that a dozen or more individuals think these posts are innapropriate apparently doesn't matter to the troll. So. The next dumb post I see will get deleted. I would invite anyone (apart from the troll) to DM me if they see content they dislike. I believe (although I haven't ever used it - yet) that I can nuke someone's account completely. Dear @NotePilot1969 - we get that you are unhappy with Evernote and would dearly like everyone to move to another provider; but unless you have something helpful or useful to say, please do not post in the Forums again. https://discussion.evernote.com/guidelines/ EDIT: PS I reported myself so the Admins are aware... -
? Take who's money for what ? Free users are always able to raise queries and report glitches through the feedback option in most apps, and via the service confusingly known as X - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps. There are also Facebook and Reddit and LinkedIn groups providing suggestions and help - as (with notable exceptions) here. If you're using a free app for anything critical, it is probably time to either pay or move on - if nothing else, paying gets you access to email help and significantly higher limits on uploads and devices used. IMHO the free app is for evaluation and occasional shopping lists - not long notes on multiple devices.

OK - try signing in through Evernote.com, but use the 'forgot password' link. If that doesn't work you need to contact Support via https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true use 'Account' in the drop-down.

Migrating from Evernote to OneNote
gazumped replied to hsavage7's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Given the number of paying members Evernote (still) has I simply can't believe that they would have the staff or the time to ring up about a missed payment and track down a replacement card. (@agsteele beat me to it there..) I'm in the UK and I've had payments missed a couple of times because of card changes - in both cases I reverted to free. And there have been enough shock and horror storied in the forums from other users who 'forgot' to change their card details and got downgraded. Regardless - we can't do anything about it in the Forums - you need your bank and credit card company to sort out their parts of the process, and I'd strongly recommend contacting Evernote Support so you can decide what, if any, payments should be going through in the future. For the record any al all payment issues can be resolved via 'my account' on the web pages - downgrade your account to Basic and there will be no further charges, card details or no. I hope this gets resolved for you very shortly! -

Why is there no support? I'm paying money for this
gazumped replied to Neomorpheus's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Impressive - have you tried 'undo' for your OS to get back to the previous layout? Or Note History? Definitely worth contacting Support. Meantime you could avoid repetitions by using an external outliner like Workflowy and linking the list from Evernote or attaching the output document file from a different application... -

If you can get into Settings from there, and maybe Support - what is the actual version number?
