  1. Hi. Thanks for sharing your conversation to date. Since Support deal with a wide range of users with "variable" internet skills, it makes a great deal of sense to ensure new requests go through the basic fixes first. They also apologised for the current slow service. If you're responding with "tried all that, still not working" they'll presumably come back with more. For the moment I'm not having any issues with attachments (that I'm aware of) which suggests that internet speeds or local malware protections could be what ails you. I would have suggested trying the installed version too, but if you keep on talking to Support I'm sure they'll get to it...
  2. It depends on your WP I guess - Office 365 has a button...
  3. To cancel a subscription online (provided you pay direct to Evernote) go to https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action (it's the 'Billing' page of your online account) and check out the very bottom of the page, just above "Terms of Service".
  4. I never bothered to look since a date search is easier and quicker than scrolling.
  5. There are about 100 other applications offering note-taking services Export from your existing application into a file type which can be imported easily by Evernote, or one which allows you to copy and paste / clip / or otherwise attach the content to a note. If you actually tell us what you are trying to import and where from, we may be able to help...
  6. Hi. The changes were announced by Evernote in April and have been sent out again to the addresses registered with them a month before each subscription renewal. There's no access to chat for the moment - this and other changes caused a lot of Support requests - but there are now no other subscription options apart from Personal, Professional or Teams. It's a sharp increase if you were previously on a 'grandfathered' scheme of some kind, but AFAIK no concessions are being made. If you don't think the app is worth that sort of subscription you can certainly request a refund and look elsewhere - though you may have a wait of several days for any response. Support and CS are here... https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  7. The HTML route is not strictly import, but those files can be opened in a browser and Clippered into Evernote.
  8. Agreed it's not a helpful description, but it's difficult to know what export options exist for every one of the around 100 options. You already know that Evernote can accept attached document files, use an import folder or clip HTML content. You need to export existing notes into something which is either already in, or can be converted into one of those formats...
  9. For random sharing I'd still recommend Postach.io - last I looked you can share notes from up to 5 notebooks simply by adding 'published' to the note as a tag. The URL can be your custom domain (but you need a subscription for that) or <title>.postach.io Everything in the free version is very basic, but you get what you pay for. The basic blog format has notes (posts) showing up on the day they're generated.
  10. Auto updates can go wrong, so rather than step back you're probably better off to do a complete uninstall / clean reinstall to see whether that helps. Sign out and tick "remove my data" Use Revo Uninstaller Free (Win) or Appcleaner (Mac) to remove Evernote and any related system files Power the device off and on again to clear temporary caches Re-download and reinstall the latest Evernote app from Evernote.com - This all takes a little time - so allow an hour or so for everything to catch up.
  11. That was a comment about Quip, not bookmarks in general. I get that this is one of the most requested new features in Evernote, and the Powers That Be will probably include the option as some point. Personally I prefer my 'bookmarks' to be short notes help together by titles, tags or a ToC - long notes are slow to load on bad connections, hard to page through, and frequently a disaster to lose. Since a new feature would need to be integrated into the overall operation of the database it's likely to be planned (if it is to be added) for the next time they do a major review, which is unlikely to be any time soon...
  12. ...it's a significant investment for minimal gain...
  13. I may have possibly been a little over-dramatic (rare, I know, in this forum...) but I was more thinking that even an occasional-use app gets synced up to date on some schedule, and storage space needs to be reserved for it, even if not used.
  14. No, but I consider it a sign of good faith. And if I had anything that any security service might be interested in - it's not online! 😄
  15. Updates are released in stages around the world to avoid swamping the internet with downloads. Until the release includes your account, your app will happily report that it is the latest version (that it knows of). You can jump the wait list for updates by downloading the genuine latest version from the website directly, If you log in and make a typo in your details it is reasonably easy to accidentally create a new account whether you realise it or not. Support will be able to confirm whether you are correct.
  16. As long as my data is not on servers in a few of the more extreme countries, and I have an assurance from the operator that it's being kept secure and subject to the requirements of GDPR, I don't really care where in the world my data is held. It's basic security not to disclose much information about processes and protocols.
  17. You're also on an old(er) version of the app - please download the latest version from the website while you're there! 'Losing' blocks of notes also suggest that you may have logged in with slightly different credentials and accidentally created a new account. Your pre-November notes may be in another account. There's a 'forgot password' link on the website where you can check email addresses you may have used for the account to confirm whether you have another one somewhere.
  18. I think this is a blanket ban on changes until an account drops to free. Once you hit your anniversary date and the account shows as Basic (free) you can accept any offer and upgrade to any level.
  19. Good luck with that. I think you'd be better off simply asking Support to help fix the discrepancy between note numbers and/ or content. I'd be surprised if they're willing to answer detail questions about the way they manage syncing and notes generally because that's commercially valuable information and probably only a small team understands exactly how it works anyway.
  20. Evernote currently (IMHO) has too many users and not enough usage - which is to say that it's a product on a par with any other business application, but far too many people use it very occasionally for shopping lists and stamp collections. Evernote are delivering major speed and reliability upgrades and are weaning users from the out of date Legacy package. They don't have the time or inclination to collect a much reduced subscription for a product that will place the same demands on their bandwidth and storage facilities as a full-fee payer. The choices are only subscribe, or move on. If you prefer the latter , then good luck for the future.
  21. Hi. We're mainly other users here. You need https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/ - you should receive an immediate ticket number, but with a price increase causing a bit of fuss, there's a temporary delay - possibly several days - before a tech can look into reports.
  22. Hi - see https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058137073
  23. I'd suggest Skitch no longer qualifies since it's apparently not been updated much this past decade. Have you tried Shottr?
