  1. "Notes" is not a real folder - it's just the list of all notes in all notebooks. Sometimes nice to see how many notes you have at all and|or to see all the notes in one list i.e. to sort by creation date or something else...
  2. To get EN10 work similar to good old Legacy, I have assigned following command/keystrokes Switch command to <CTRL><Numpad><Minus> Search to <CTRL>-Q Works fine - but only if my cursor is outside a note 😞 Whilst editing a note, <CTRL>-Q changes the current paragraph to block justification 😀. I've to click <CTRL>-Z (Undo) or <CTRL>-L to get back to my left justificated mode... Problem: <CTRL>-Q within note text cannot be reassigned to any other keystroke ☹ The problems <CTRL>-Q has been mentioned here before 12 month. What's going wrong with EN's quality assurance?
  3. Just to try to finalize the discussion: There are (good) paying users with credible use cases that want to get back a feature It's a small thing to implement it (my opinion as a developer) - compared with other epics that change underlying data structures and UI at all. We as your stakeholder believe that business value of the story is high enouph to rate it to the next dev sprints... So my questions to EN-Staff (i.e. @Scott T.) What's wrong? When do we get it back?
  4. I think EN should (and does!) read the discussions here. If every angry user has to be handled by support, they will stop doing their job (solving problems). Discussion with users around necessities and wishes should be handled by product management (or however you will name it...). From EN's point of view they can save much time (and money) if the discussion are run within users itself.
  5. and My use case is not moving content between the accounts. I would like to have both accounts open to spare time to switch. I've configured my desktops as two desktops (Windows-TAB ...) and can switch between my office and privat enviroments by CTRL-Windows-Left and -Right (done in 0.001 secs). Possible with Legacy Possible with Web clients (but who wants to use this if native apps are available?) Impossible with EN10 app (means: I have to switch accouts explicitely which takes >= 8 secs each time to close current windows and re-open window(s) of the other account...) I'll continue with Legacy until this (and some other topics) will be solved in EN10. As a compromise I try to work with Legacy in one environment and use EN10 app in the other. This can't be the final solution - but it helps to understand differences between Legacy(advantages) and EN10(downsides) because I can see (and feel) it with every switch πŸ˜‰
  6. Indeed inline tags would be nice because the _-workaround is not as handy as tags: You have to change the note text when adding a "tag" or to remove it later... Better features to navigate within long notes might be an other topic: I would see it as "inline URLs" like in HTML (...#<anchor>).
  7. Yes - two EN windows of different accounts open at one time. Possible with Legacy - impossible with EN10 (allows only to switch by closing the one and re-opening with the other account) What's your interpretation?
  8. OK, ok - might be right for bigger business. But there are thousands of small companies with no strict separation of the spheres... And I do not use parallel EN accounts because of Drag&Drop possibilites. It's simply the time to switch the accounts that makes me crazy: I have two desktops (Ctrl-Wnd-Left and -Right) to switch between context-1 and context-2. In Context-1 I run EN-1 with one account and in Context-2 I see EN-2. In later times, both EN-accounts run with Legacy - and all was fine. βœ” Now I've switched EN-2 to EN10 (in hope to get as successful as with Legacy πŸ˜‰) - hard work 😀 If EN10 should be used in both contexts - impossible 😞
  9. But having Teams and a private account is a normal use case. And because Teams accounts are much more expensive it is not a minor user group that should be ignored.
  10. s/nice/reliable/ and we'll be happy at the end πŸ‘ EOT?
  11. Asked it the same question and got a nice template with the following statement inside: "... We want to reassure you that our commitment to providing you with high-quality services remains unchanged. ..." <sarcasm> Maybe this is why marketing is going to be layed off? πŸ€” </sarcasm>
  12. I run two accounts (Professional and Enterprise) and am highly interested in a stable and ever-lasting product. My concern is only based on missing reliability of the new managment. We often saw that worse management was able to kill best products...
  13. ??? My opinion is: It was one of his tasks to prepare EN to be sold (*). He stays to be board member of an EN subsidary and is CEO of Snapdocs which in turn is hold by a a group of investors of which "Sequoia" is mentioned often... You may have a look to Different Funds to get a glue of his expertise πŸ˜‰ (*) From their point of view he did a good job...
  14. @agsteele Yep, this is true for sure. But You as an EN Expert have a relaxed view of the situation because You are member of the inner circle around the management. You have been invited to directly talk with the new CEO. Is it part of a new strategy to handle customers? When do we see offical announcements? This thread did start after an official announcement before 3 months - after which we saw nothing.
  15. Yes it MIGHT be only interesting for people who are not affected. All the others (employees and users) are frightended. Before 3 days one could read statements like "can hardly think straight today" after "every single person" of a team at EN "were all laid off". OK, it was a marketing team whose members really know how to work with social media. but is it really a good idea to start layoffs there without having good arguments from upper management? And there are layoff-statements from development and support guys and girls also...
  16. Regarding such important behavior of older versions there is no need to threw coin. It's a MUST to retain this functionality.
  17. FYI: I opened a support ticket for that problem. Up to now I got only one answer: They escalated it to a higher level of support πŸ˜‰. I'll come back to here if I can get answers from there...
  18. Hmm, whom should we believe in? BS mentions an "extremely strong team of employees to focus on EN" (1) in parallel to a "mass layoff" of EN employees (2)... (1) is cited from the accidently posted BS text πŸ€” (2) is cited from EN employees in LinkedIn 😒 And the one who is best known within the EN user base and seemed to be a really credible rep (Ian Small) is no longer part of the team... His vita shows "CEO Evernote from Oct. 2018–Jan. 2023" after "Evernote was acquired by Bending Spoons S.p.A. in January 2023" 😀 But: He didn't stop to be member of the "Board of Directors of Yinxiang Biji - Evernote's spinoff serving China [markets]". So he is still on board πŸ‘
  19. @agsteeleCache is readable by anyone. Please be kind enough to remove the name of the poor man that made the mistake from here. THX PS (sometime later): Maybe this will not help to stop the waves 😞. LinkedIn shows many statements of EN staff members who describe the situation they face... I hope there will be a clear statement from BendingSpoons/EN to explain the situation in very near future πŸ™
  20. The problem is located on EN server site. Links to shared notes like https://www.evernote.com/l/... stopped working. Maybe this is by intend to force users to generate links in EN10. But it would be a unserious act because it makes thousands of links unusabe even if they have been generated in the past... I cannot believe EN to work in this manner. Hope they will repair their server configuration. πŸ™
  21. Like some others here I cannot see a real (and save) need for bulk editing notebook and tag names itself. It's better to (re)assign notes to new tags and books and delete the old ones later... But it would be nice to get a possibility to work in a note list like in a grid to re-organize notes. I've logged this as a christmas wish before 2 years - but nealy noone reacted to this 😞. Maybe I should do some advertising πŸ˜‰
  22. Just tried it in Legacy and EN10: both work correct - any size and position changes before closing the note window is retained so that opening a new note in a new window will show this note in position and size of the formerly closed. Do you use any tool to organize your window positions (like MaxTo or something else)?
  23. The settings apply only to newly inserted links and attachments. Once inserted this setting can be changed for every link or attachment individually.
  24. Yep - seems to be the same structure on Windows. Notes are in other subfolders that are controlled by the database (conduit-storage\, conduit-fs\ and some other) - but surely not in a 1:1 file:note structure. So it might be hard to implement IFilter- or IPreviewHander-methods to calc back to a specific note (title and URL) to display it in Windows search or Mac Spotlight lists. From this point on, we'd need to get some support from @EN-developers to figure out further possibilities πŸ€”
  25. That's not the problem: if you implement an IFilter for your documents, you may implement an IPreviewHandler to manage previews to notes without opening the app itself. These methods are to be implemented in DLLs that have to be registered to be used. Only if the notes are to be displayed or edited completely, you have to start the App itself. ⚠But there is indeed one problem: Because EN manages notes within a local SQL(?) database, they are not seen as single files. I don't know whether it is possible to show small but many pieces of such a database as unique objects in Windows search 😞
