  1. Found a way! I don't use Microsoft Edge a lot but for Office 365 related items and I saw the same READ ALOUD option within Microsoft Edge. So if you open Evernote web in Edge instead of the windows app, then you can have all the note content read! Just tried it and worked!
  2. I just tried the Narrator option in Windows 10 under the accessibility options, it just read "ALL NOTEBOOKS"...."xxx@yahoo.com"..."Evernote" but it did not read the note content. There is some information here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17173/windows-10-hear-text-read-aloud that you might want to check out. Maybe there is a setting that can read the highlighted text within a note. Hope you find a solution, keep us posted. I think Mac OS X has a read aloud option for pretty much anything highlighted, I never used it but I remember seeing it, which, I know, does not help you in this case.
  3. Are you trying to sort tasks (check boxes) within a note? Or each note is an individual task and you want to put the "notes" on top. If you are trying to sort notes, there are ways like @DTLow suggested. However, if you are trying to sort tasks within notes (as some others here requested as features before), there is really not a workaround for that. Although many uses Evernote as a task management tool, I started to get more benefit out of it when I started using a dedicated task management app in conjunction with Evernote. So it works for me, but everybody is different and tweaks their personal management to their liking (or what works for them naturally)
  4. Happy Birthday to me! Although we had to put our dog down today. :(

  5. Zendone looks really nice. Thanks for bringing it up, I had not checked it before. I now have a nice balance between Evernote and Todoist for my personal management system and it works. I do like to check out new/other products that can improve things for sure. You said "GTD specificity"...was it too rigid?
  6. I wasn't. I was talking about the general comments and how we all sometimes look like we are demanding perfection. That was it. There is always some feature someone will want or complain about something missing etc. That was my point.
  7. Is this like adjusting the window sizes and locations? I mean, it looks like it splits the screen and places the OneNote to the right side of the window. If that is the case, you can achieve this result with some manual input by snapping the Evernote note window to the right side of the screen and then adjusting the size to be smaller.
  8. Always good to see a positive post, especially if a developer is reading these (which we know some do). It would be a tough job for me if I am only hearing the bad all the time. I think we all demand perfection from anything tech related these days as if everything we do at our jobs or in our daily lives are SO PERFECT! It is a very unrealistic demand. Like Louis CK's bit about the guy on the airplane who was pissed off about the WIFI being shut down although he did not even know about it until 5 minutes prior. We automatically feel entitled when it comes to tech. I know we pay for the service etc. but it will never get perfect. Although, I do hope for less bugs and more features that have been requested here for years such as dark theme etc. Happy Monday everybody !
  9. Can you let us know what you think of Faciletings? I had looked into it before, never signed up for it or tried it out. Actually, it is a note in Evernote from 2016 where I took some screenshots of it. I would be curious to find out what an Evernote user thinks.
  10. I would create a "Table of Contents" or a Master Note where I would list all of them. Wikipedia has a really nice table which inspired me. Then I would create links to individual park notes as I visit them or get close to visiting them since I can put research information there as well, example As discussed, canvas is blank you can add whatever you want to from receipts to key photos to scanned copy of the admission tickets or how much you spent at each park etc. Good luck. Would like to see your final solution in the end.
  11. I am not a fan of the new interface for PDFs either. I posted it before to different threads that it feels like that the PDF is no longer "part" of the note. I don't like the borders and the scrolling within scrolling. I am not sure whether this is due to I liked it the way it was and did not see a need for "fixing" so I am not even giving it a chance but I still have not warmed up to it. Although I must admit, I use the old version at work since I am in Evernote all day long and I have the updated version at the house. I am still giving it a little chance but reading the forums here, I think a lot of people would like to have the option to select which way their PDFs are displayed within the notes. I am sure that is not easy to do but there have been a lot controversy (if you want to call it) about the PDF viewer since the update.
  12. I thought MohioMap was a great idea and had great potential. However, I was not able to utilize it the way I thought I would. The visual was really nice and helpful but it was not giving me any beneficial "connections" or new ideas. It felt like it was missing. I do hope that they come back with a better solution that works and makes them stay in business. The visual aspect of any app is becoming more and more crucial, mind maps, trello boards, they all hit that perfect balance for me. I hope we can see something similar like MohioMap for Evernote. I would really enjoy it.
  13. I used to have a work Surface Pro and that was one thing I really liked about the OneNote that I can start typing something in a note and then mark it up or hand write something in it with the Surface Pen. When I am reviewing my notes in Evernote, sometimes I want to circle something (without the annotation tool) or hand write a note around a topic or even sketch something. I abandoned OneNote but being able to sketch/write into a note was a feature I miss for sure. I hope Evernote will be able to bring similar feature for us.
  14. Have you tried ENDING TASK for the tray icon? Go the task management and end the task. I've seen the tray icon being stuck before unless you do the END TASK option within Windows.
  15. Happy Friday Evernote Community!

I think everybody should read BrainChains by Theo Compernolle. Great book!

  16. I sure like this. Does it look like the Google Keep? The entire note is different color in the snippet view in Google Keep which I really liked.
  17. I agree, if the goal of the post was to provide information, share insight to help others then one has to provide reasoning and more information which is fine. But if one wants people to quit Evernote to go somewhere else just to hurt Evernote due to their frustration with the software (that they elected to use in the first place), that does not make sense and is not productive, helpful at all. I think everybody should be evaluating things in their lives on a periodic basis to ensure that things are improving and moving forward, not being stagnant. It is ok to look at other software as well, or recommend to others, just make sure your intentions are right. Happy Friday!!
  18. I use -tag: a lot and -notebook: would be awesome. I was wondering the same thing too, it just feels natural in line with all the other searches. There must be a good technical reason for it. But hopefully, -notebook: search option will be coming soon.
  19. Following shows my journey. I did not really use it much in 2013 and 2014 as shown, in 2015 I put the effort into it and I must say after 2016 I saw a huge habit change and now I "get" it. It is customized to my liking and needs and works really nicely. Once you realize how easily you can retrieve things (for me especially with tags) then you start capturing even more. Right now averaging 12-13 notes a day and I have 12,200+ notes. Like @Duane said, it is not competition and to be honest, the number of notes does not really matter if you cannot set it up that you cannot retrieve it when you need it. Otherwise, anybody can dump anything into it and reach the 100,000 note mark but like anything else if the information is not retrievable, you don't technically have it. PS! This chart was already in Evernote, was not updated in 2018 but was easy to retrieve.
  20. I bought the Rocketbook way back which allows you to put it in a microwave and erase all the notes. I never got to complete the notebook to do that. You may look into that as well if you are still looking for a reuseable notebook. You can scan everything into Evernote with the Rocketbook app as well, so the idea was really tempting. To answer your question, I had not used wipebook.
  21. Overall I think people want more customization to their Evernote and want to make it look the way that works for them. Different size fonts, different layouts for ShortCuts, or note views, more color options etc. I am all for it as well. I use it all day long and it is the app that I spent the most hours according to RescueTime everyday. Thus, I want it to feel, look the way I like it. Of course, with a lot of customization options, comes a lot of problems for the developers and for the users. I would trust the Evernote team to walk that fine line nicely.
  22. I accidentally deleted a tag that was attached to 532 notes, so I am not happy. I was trying to get to "STYLE" and mouse slipped I deleted! How can I turn back the option to "Are you sure you want to delete..." tag option? It does not seem to be under the options. I wish there was a way to recover deleted tags after syncing.
  23. It has been slower than usual for me lately. The 6.8 update was horrible, I was getting the UNRESPONSIVE and the freezing numerous times a day. I am back to 6.7 and it seems a little slower than normal. 12,147 notes. I have done uninstall/reinstall. Have not tried the re-indexing however. It is ok at this time but if it gets worse, I will revisit this thread.
  24. I am enjoying the SkillShare videos about productivity, definitely recommend it.
