  1. Reached Guru Status today!! YAYAYAYAYA! :)

  2. I agree. I keep some on a server or a cloud location depending on the size or if others are using it as well. I did get a little concerned and scared, when some of my files disappeared from Evernote however (due to latest updates). Like an Excel file would show an icon there and I couldn't open it. But "SAVE ATTACHMENTS" option worked in those cases luckily.
  3. Just out of curiosity...it looks like having the Excel spreadsheet data is the goal here and it provides the most value with the formulas, sorting etc. So my question is, why start the data in Evernote first? I mean, if I was doing it, I would capture them in Excel and if it needs to be shared or for any other reason, then I would keep the Excel file in Evernote and update/modify that file.
  4. Go to TOOLS --> OPTIONS and uncheck create new note in a new window. Hope this helps.
  5. Wishing everybody a great, productive and an effective week!

    My last week RescueTime results:

  6. As I update my notes, I put a time stamp in the Windows and Mac app therefore it would be great to be able to do the same while on the go with the IOS app. It is a great way of monitoring progress as well as documentation history for anything time sensitive especially when managing projects. Very needed functionality for sure.
  7. Since my post above, I just got the following today for the first time in the Windows App: I'll check to see how often I will receive it.
  8. Others have expressed interest in recurring reminders as well, and I am one of them as well. Until that feature, you can try using TAGS for a similar purpose but you will have to be disciplined enough to run those. You can have a tag called DAILY, or MONDAY and you run those saved searches on those specific times. I use Todoist for those kind of reminders, it takes "every work week" as an input as you type the task in. So if I wanted to remind myself to check the DAILY tag in Evernote, I would create a task in Todoist to remind me every day to run that search inquiry. This would be another workaround if you are not disciplined to run the tag search.
  9. Another old request, I did not even realize the original post date until I scroll down to see other comments! I voted it up. One of my issues is the ability to connect notes and make connections on the fly. For example, you are in a note and you want to reference a different note in it, I would find the other note, copy the link, go back to the original note and paste it. When you have a lot of notes, there could be many connections and links and that is part of Evernote's strength (for me) to be able to make connections between your ideas, notes, projects, tasks etc. In short, I would love to be able to create a note from a highlighted text inside a note. This will lead to more brainstorming and jumping from one idea to another and let the flow going but also be able to trace back ideas. In summary, I would love more connections (ability to create connections in a faster, easier way, for example, scrolling all your notes within the note to paste a link) within Evernote.
  10. Depends on the user and what they like. I've started with OneNote years ago and it really has its advantages. But pushing you to the letter size format, never sat right with me for some reason. I felt bad having a one sentence notes Also, tagging portions of the note might be very useful but it was not providing value to me, contrary it was creating more work to tag portions of the note. But these could be a reason for someone else to love OneNote. Also, it has Microsoft backing (resources, money etc.) and infrastructure behind it, so it seems to be more stable and with less bugs (I would think compared to Evernote updates). I am back to Evernote V6.7 at my work computer and it is working for me with no lost data. Even if I had to switch to a different note taking app, I don't think it would OneNote due to its formatting and user interface.
  11. April Stats from RescueTime. I highly recommend RescueTime to any Windows user.

    27 hour + in Evernote!

  13. I have not seen them for a while now. I had purchased 2 couple of years ago and now I have the regular moleskine notebook. My understanding is that they are not making the leather bound ones. I've seen the other version that has a brown color however. Honestly, I was not really using the stickers at all. I liked the logo on the cover and the premium code that came with it. That was it. Were you getting value out of it? How was it helping your workflow? Curious. Per @gazumped you can use any notebook in a similar way which is what I am doing currently.
  14. Last week was a meeting driven week but still got 4h 8m out of Evernote at work.Untitled.thumb.png.569bfcc6256999efea986f086090b0d5.png

  15. Happy Friday!

  16. I assume that they are counting on single users to promote it within their organizations. After all, everybody starts as a single user even if they are part of the business plan, there is not a "corporation" user since that is not a person. I guess they can target the CEOs only which is probably not feasible/possible. I have not seen many ads popping up for me yet. Received emails about it etc. but that was it so far. I could see it being annoying quickly though if it interrupts my daily workflow. I've seen posts about pop-ups for upgrading from the basic membership too. Not sure if there is a proper way of doing that as they are a business trying to sell products as well. Can see both sides of the spectrum.
  17. Just voted for Evernote in The Webby Awards!

  19. Which view setting do you have for the notes? The Snippet view?
  20. Happy Hump Day Evernote Community!

  21. It does for me. See below where the 3 arrows line up in relationship to the reminder clock icon. There is one case (which I couldn't find a sample for) where the path to a file is super long, then I can only see one tag! But that applies to files exported I think, it was not website URLs. Nonetheless, it was taking up a lot of space.
  22. This is something that has been bugging me as well. Sometimes the URL is so long that I only see one tag and I operate with tags more than anything. So I hit F3 to add a tag, I get a pop up box now. Also I cannot see what the tags are for this note unless I click the arrows On top of that, the clipped email from Outlook for example has a link which is nice in theory but since I processed that email I already moved it out of Inbox and archived it. So when I click the outlook.office.com link as shown below, I just get my email inbox, not the original email. It sure is useless at that time. I definitely the see the reason and usefulness of this idea and it does come in handy for website links but it does need tweaking to handle situations like these. There is an option to clear the link which could be cumbersome if you are doing it for everything you import and asking the question "Will this link work, or do I need it" every time.
  23. This is sad that they are losing good customers. And not in the sense that they are paying customers, they are involved customers that market the product by wearing a tshirt or helping out in the forums and more. Not sure what the sample size is but the forum users are definitely not liking the new PDF viewer. They really need to make a statement about the decision for the change and address the issue with their dedicated customers. I've always had the latest update for all the apps I use, and this is the first time I am couple versions down just because of the PDF viewer. There are so many dedicated users that really LOVE this product and the app and they are being ignored which is really sad. I get that you cannot reply to every forum post or make everybody happy but when there is this kind of an objection to this feature, somebody should say something and they need to fix it or give us the option to pick our PDF viewer format. Like @Dave-in-Decatur said, nobody can blame you.
  24. 6.11 Beta is out, I wonder if that fixed this problem. Along with the PDF viewer issue and the lack of drag and drop, it looks like I will be stuck in 6.7 for a while! I drag and drop into other apps on a daily basis and part of my daily workflow, this can be a major issue for many people for sure.
  25. Found a way! I don't use Microsoft Edge a lot but for Office 365 related items and I saw the same READ ALOUD option within Microsoft Edge. So if you open Evernote web in Edge instead of the windows app, then you can have all the note content read! Just tried it and worked!
