  1. Clearly listed in the coming soon section of the release notes: Coming Soon: - Edit creation date of notes in note info
  2. The pronouncements from the EN team during the preview and beta phases have been reasonanly clear. I'll quote a few of then here: Posted July 12 Hi all--we've implemented offline functionality, meaning that the application is available and most functionality exists when you are not connected to the internet. We do maintain a local database, but at log out are presently wiping that. In the release after next, we will be reinstating an option for you to maintain a permanent local copy of your notes (or, if you like, continue to remove the local database). But also Posted September 2 Fully offline capabilities are still in the works. Additional improvements are coming! You do need to make sure that "save data at logout" in tools -> preferences.
  3. You have to "simplify and make editable" which is available from the pop up mini menu when you click on the grey header to the web content.
  4. You can find the in app link by editing a link which has been pasted into a note and then copying it: However when I use that link (from within Word for example) it opens Evernote but does not open the correct note. So it's more than just being able to easily generate the link - it needs to work as well.
  5. Personally I find the accurate rendering of emojiis quite useful. I only use symbols and it allows me to easily see a title, for example, in a list. If you want to reject it simply because it sounds like something only teenagers would use that's fine but it's your loss.
  6. They look quite different. Some people hate the crossing out of the new checklist while I like it. I should imagine going forward most people will use the new checklist because it is more obvious on the edit menu and being a list you get the really nice ability to reorder the list by drag and drop.
  7. I may have misunderstood what you mean but you can always print a note to pdf and then email it. You will obviously need to have the appropriate software installed on your PC to allow you to do this.
  8. I have always been relectant to share notes by email because it means giving a third party (Evernote) the email address of my contact. I wonder whether with GDPR and the like this is why EN have discontinued this function. However it should still be possible to send a copy of the note from your own email system in a integrated "share by email" type approach. Currently you can not do this and you cannot even copy and paste an entire note into an email because images are not copied.
  9. This is no longer the case. Most of my pdf containing notes come from directly webclipping an online pdf anyway. Sadly it's another example of the absence of options leading to defaults that will not meet everybody's needs.
  10. The situation is much more serious than this. For several types of webclippings the only place you will find the source url is as the note url in the note info window. It does not appear in the body of the note and is hence lost when the notes are merged. This is therefore a live issue and is not just for webclippings imported into the old version. The three types of webclippings where you will loose the url on merging are: Webclips of pdfs Webclips created as screenshots Webclips of selected text (ie select text first and then hit the webclipper icon)
  11. It should work fine. Either right click the pdf and choose "annotate this pdf" or use the pop up mini menu that appears above the pdf when you click on it.
  12. This was a bug in the beta but has not been resolved before the public release. For me ctrl-alt-F only works if the focus is on a note in the note list (ie there is a blue box around a note in the note list) and the sidebar is not collapsed.
  13. Most of that information is burried away in the note information window which is most easily accessed by ctrl-shift-I
  14. Best you can do at the moment is to include emojiis in your tag names
  15. A real slap in the face for all of us preview and beta testers who have spent hours not only finding all the problems but carefully documenting them and saying why they are important to our workflows. I know it's not the final version and I know we can still use the full functioned "old" version but what do EN hope to learn by making it a general release? They are just going to be told all the things we have been saying for months.
  16. The short cut for find notes (alt-ctrl-F) does not work if the sidebar is collapsed. Raised and acknowledged by the EN team in the beta but released anyway. 😒
  17. I think you will find it is shift-alt-D for the date not ctrl-alt-D. ctrl-shift-D gives the time
  18. Solved my own problem. The answer is here: (although I didn't get error 2732) Here is the Ultimate Fix -Go to 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Evernote.msi' and execute it
  19. Sadly boiler95's method doesn't work for me. If I attempt to uninstall the current version I get an "install server not responding" message. Reinstalling the current version on top of the current installation doesn't help. Do I need to uninstall manually or something? Where is the update thread that Gazumped refers to?
  20. Same here. Been trying to update now for several days.
  21. It's not a feature I personally use for many of the reasons you outline. If I do need to select all the child tags I manually select them by clicking the parent tag and then shift + clicking the last child tag in the list and then changing "all" to "any" in the search details.
  22. In the windows client there is an option "automatically select child tags" which works perfectly.
  23. Great solution to something that has been bugging me for a while. As an alternative to the hyperlink I found I could just drag the shortcut from my desktop into a note - double clicking it then ran the search.
  24. When this first happened to me I thought I was going mad! I can confirm that both the work arounds described above also work for me: Open the note containing the link in a new window and then proceed as normal Right click the link and choose "Open in New Window" or just shift-click. I didn't understand the comment by DTLow that: There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in Help -> Release Notes, but perhaps he meant something different.
